As someone with a PhD degree in biomedical science this is extremely good news to hear lol. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to get a more relevant degree or tried to get experience. This is very helpful. Thank you.

Can a Bsn RN get into PhD in biomedical and what other similar research degrees can one do?

I'm going to study a master's degree in clinical research next year.
As far as I concern, I would say that, here in Spain, having a master's degree is basically the way that most people break into the industry. The main reason for this is that most of this masters assure you a on-job training period from 6 to 12 months as a CRA entry level or as a study coordinator. They cost around 5k-10k euros.
I guess this doesn't happen in the USA at all.
Sorry for my mistakes in English, I'm a Spanish native speaker.

how about Austalia? I'm thinking the same, maybe on-the-job training, or being hired for part-time work while having masters in clinical research to break into the field

I'm a clinical research coordinator assistant. And am looking to advance my education by getting a master's degree. But still, undecided about which program to go into. Thanks for the insight.

Current student in the Master's in Clinical Research at UC San Diego ... only taking it cuz I didn't do any research during undergrad and am planning to apply later for medical school

Thats soo true since mostly we see companies requiring only a high school diploma or highest the bachelors in chemistry or biology. No one ever mentioned a masters so thats right dont waste money in this masters stuff try to get experience cuz thats what they want even if its an entry level😪

Txs! Per my understabding, Masters in Clinical Research programs are not catered to CRAs or CRCs. Those programs are for people who are planning to become PIs & Co-PIs (MDs, PhDs etc.). A lot of students in those programs are concurrently enrolled in post graduate education such as MDs, DOs schools & others. Not all, of course.

Exactly but people don’t really know that

@@dansfera Yes! I would love to have more PIs who know " how the sausage made". Most are heavily relying on their coordinators, nurses & CRAs.

This is extremely helpful. I’m what you would call clinical research naive. I don’t have any direct experience but I’m cutting working on getting my certification in GCP, and I was thinking would a masters help me break into the field easier.

I have a friend with a MPH and she only has 2 years experience and is making the same as someone with 5 years of experience due to her degree. It helps if you are already in the industry and it’ll help for management positions etc..

Hi from India, just graduated with bachelors degree in microbiology and now I want to go into a practical field other than biotechnology, so I would like to know which msc should I pursue, msc in clinical research or nutrition and dietetics
