I came across a saying a while ago, it was something like this: Regular people don't go around trying to destroy others. Their choice of actions speaks to their own brokenness. Thank you for all your videos!!! They always make my day :)
Your positivity is so refreshing in these times of covid and all of the other stuff going on. Thank you for brightening up my day every time you post a new video 🥰
I’ve been working in the Fiber-Arts field for 20 years now, I’m still learning every day and by no means perfect. I like your channel and enjoy your videos. Don’t let negative people’s comments bother you, keep being yourself. If you get a chance to get a Coopworth fleece from Hidden Valley Farm in Wisconsin, get one, Carole’s fleeces are great!
At first it just bothered me that people were rude, but now I just figure I can't make everyone happy, so I just worry about being happy myself. Thanks for the recommendation!
That Finn is 😍 😍 😍! You have so much valuable info in this video, not just about buying fleece, but about living your best life and not letting the haters get you down! I love your pitcher metaphor too! Happy spinning! 😊 💕
I love that you are open and honest on your channel. Can’t believe people are that rude. Just remember it’s not a reflection of you it’s a reflection of them. They are miserable so they want to make you miserable also. Love all your videos I am leaning so much. Keep up the good work you are inspiring.
Don’t know why people feel they need to judge. This is suppose to be fun. I feel that ALL RUclipsrs should be given grace. You are a fun excursion, thank you.
Thank you for being you!!!! I love that you are so real. NEVER NEVER NEVER let any negative comments change you. You have such a wonderful spirit. Love the fleece. And thank you for all the great information. 😊
You are the best! I always appreciate your chipper pragmatic realness. You are always so fun to watch. Even without lipgloss! You always highlight the joy in the little things that make all us fiber people tick. Thanks.
I agree about the negativity - don't let it get you down. You keep on providing interesting, informative and entertaining videos about FIBER - thank you!!!
Honestly I'm surprised that you get negative comments. I always love seeing your videos! I'm not perfect, and seeing your less than perfect (but great & informative) videos makes me feel encouraged. Who wants to see perfection and then go and try it yourself and not get the same results? Love your attitude, Trish! 💜
I don't get a ton of negativity, but I get my share. Thank you so much. Nobody is perfect, so why pretend to be? It sounds super exhausting. I'm tired just trying to pretend I'm a grownup.
I'm sorry you received negative comments about your videos. Thanks for not letting it get you down and continuing to post. I love you even with a glare on your glasses and no lip gloss, and I love how enthusiastic and geeky you are about fiber!
Not sure why people have to voice their negativity. They should just move along if your videos aren’t for them! I love your content AND your personality. Thanks for sharing! 💕
Trish, love your videos. I can't imagine why anyone would have a negative comment. I am very new to the fiber world and I appreciate your casual, laid back approach. Keep up the good work.
Your channel has been such a bright point of my summer. Your videos are always so sweet, welcoming, and informational. Its been such a joy to join you on your fiber journey! 😁 Also, that fleece is sooooooo gorgeous!!!!!!
Oh man, I gasped out loud when you opened the bag. What a gorgeous fleece! Love your videos, especially your realness. Thank you for putting out such great content!
I am always happy to watch your videos, Trish. I talk to you on my screen, because, after all, I am a crazy fiber lady :} Today I was darning my old socks I wear at night while watching. I agree with you about being positive, and believe it is what we focus on that leads to being filled up; focus on the positive in nearly all situations and you will be more positive. The Lemonade, cup half full, what wolf you feed, pick your metaphor. We All are having challenges right now, and your channel is a bright spot! I Love you whatever way you come to the screen. P.S. I have begun to want fleeces in my life...your influence plus Soulful Spinning. I have a free one I will pick up, Low expectations, and some 8 oz. packets from an etsy seller. Your explanation of balancing Risk, Time/Effort and Money is perfect. Thank you and Thank you.
I absolutely adore you. You always brighten my day and I really appreciate it. Your intro cracked me up. I always learn so much from you. You are amazing 💜☺️
Thanks for the teaching you do and the positivity you share!! You give me courage to try new stuff - I’m using acid dyes for the first time today😊 and you’ve given me excellent weaving ideas - and you always brighten my day🌞 Don’t be afraid to share your frustrations with us. We can take it! But I feel like you’ll always come out okay🥰
Your videos are always fun . Keep being you, there is already too much of the fake perfection b.s. out on all social media platforms. I'm here to be inspired, to learn, and have fun. Keep it up.
I love the rawness of your videos! The truth! The energy! Positivity! You make me smile. And by the way is that a teddy bear head over your right shoulder on the back part of your loveseat It looks like it's lighting up or flickering lights inside of it?! 🤣😂🤣😂. Love your videos keep doing what you do. 💚💚💚
You blew me away when you said your fleece was from Jim’s in Buckley Washington. I’ve lived most of my life there! I’m living right now in the next town over. I’m just getting back into fleeces and spinning, so am happy to know I have a nice resource so close to home! It’s so funny you find these things out from somebody half way across the country from me!
Thank you for passing on all your advice on buying fleeces. There a lot of folks that would like to try buying a fleece but are afraid of getting a box of poo instead. 🐑
I love the look of your fleece, but sadly, I'm too lazy to put the effort in to preparing it. It would be great to see how it all looks when it is done and ready to spin!
We all have parts we like or don't enjoy, so it's not sad at all! That's why you can buy it at all the stages. I didn't always like the very beginning either, so I get it 💜
Oh, I promise lots of people find reasons! Hahaha. JK, I have just as much stuff wrong with me as anybody. I say the wrong thing ALL THE TIME. And I am not serious enough for some people, so that can be quite annoying.
Thank you for sharing the unboxing and info!! AND I want to say that YOU are a ray of sunshine. We all have our faults, but it's easy to see you have a good heart and care about others. We all need to take the lid off the kettle once in a while. LOL
Thank you! I just love how real and open and honest you are! Always look forward to your videos! I am a fairly new weaver, and I don’t know much at all about raw wool or spinning, etc., so it’s so interesting to me to watch you working with them and explains things. Thanks again!
Hi Trish, I'm bunge watching your video/podcasts. Ilove them & you. That fleece looks so shiny 😍. One of the Drop Spindle Kits I got for Christmas is Finn & i love Spindling it. I think it was one of the easiest for consistency. Now making me need more Finn. I'm Spindling Jacop at the moment, I'm finding thats giving me a thicker yarn. So they think it doesn't matter. Take care of yourself & stay safe. Lots of love Jen 💘 xx
Hi Trish! I think it was the week for discussing how rude people can be on social media. I’ve seen a few besides yours and Kelly’s. I’ll never understand why people feel the need to be mean. Just keep doing what you’re doing and ignore the negative comments. I enjoy all of your videos and I learn something new and valuable every week! Plus I love your sense of humor you always make me smile 😊 I can’t wait to see what you do with your beautiful fleece!
omgosh! You are the light of my day in this crazy world. I always feel uplifted and a spark for more creativity. Plus you are funny and you make me laugh.. ‘thank you
I'm not a professional photographer or videographer. I only know what I've seen others do. They do not point the light directly at the individual that they are filming. It seems like they have some kind of flat screen that's not a mirror exactly but they point the light at the flat screen. Since they are not pointing directly at the individual they get no reflection of the light in the individuals glasses or anything else that's in the field. I loved what you said at the end of your video. Because of health issues I have been stuck in the house almost continuously since mid-march. Today I went out to do some errands directly from the car. I had no contact with anyone else. It raised my spirits 500%. If we cannot go out at all, and we can find an outlet of our craft or enjoyment that we can submerse ourselves in then we can become happier individuals. I know that responses 2 Facebook or videos or any other kind of media can be positive or negative. I also know that advice is hot air. At the same time I firmly believe that if we are proud of what we do then the naysayers are very unhappy people and only can dump it off on others. Pray for them and be thankful for the negative individuals and bless those who like your videos.
I know I've said something similar in a different post, but I really enjoy that you are very real in your videos. I think it makes your videos more approachable and accessible to a broader audience of fiber enthusiasts, especially those of us new to spinning and fiber. That's also why I follow Evie (@JillianEve), because I like that she shows mistakes and then how to fix them. Because if an experienced spinner makes a mistake or has a challenge, then a new spinner is almost guaranteed to run into the same mistake/challenge. Also your analogy about not being able to pour sugar out of a cup of coffee...awesome! Ya never know where that person is in life right now or what they are going through that is pushing the judgement to the top, so use what little gem you can find in their comments to help yourself improve, and let the rest roll off like water from a duck. I love what you do, and how you do it. Now I've gotta go watch some of your weaving videos, because I just picked up my first rigid heddle loom (a Leclerc Bergere) ❤🐑🐑
There are non glare lenses you can get for glasses or tilt them until the light doesn't reflect. Not everyone is going to like everyone else. Be who you are and if you like who you are then no one else matters!
I totally get what you mean about the risk/cost/effort trifecta. I buy top or roving from R.H Lindsay because while the price is higher per pound I have no risk and no effort so the few $'s more is absolutely worth it right now. Plus I grew up on a farm, I've washed sheep with the wool still on, I'm really not sure I'd like it any better with it off, lol.
I love R.H. Lindsay! I really think it makes sense, especially if you're not controlling like I am, to just jump in on the steps you love and let someone else do the other ones. It's supposed to be a fun hobby, not a crappy job, right?
Sod the negative people, I love you for your realness 💕 That is a beautiful fleece, I don't have the room really to process a whole fleece here but I might try one one day.
This was good information. I will check out the facebook page. I always try what you teach because you are so natural and make it look fun and easy. My ice-dying adventure was fabulous. Thanks again. Gerry Ivkovich.
Thank you for sharing Jim’s Finn fleece info! I just ordered 2.piebald fleeces and they were so friendly and sweet to work with. They sent pictures and I am so looking forward to giving my Brother drum carder a good work out! (I got after your review!) I think your channel is awesome!
Thanks for sharing! Im spending my online time on wooly youtube vids b/c FB is annoying, and my favorite tv genre has turned disturbingly grotesque at times. So thank you for Putting out fun and fluffy (Aka woolly) content 💕. I have 2 finn lamb fleeces from the same place which are piebald and truely black and truly white curlylil fleeces. I have a couple issues I. Have found, but the price was good and ilove them otherwise
I have had to unfollow so many people on FB, I feel like I only have a handful of people left that I can see. After the election, I can put them back on Follow status but maybe a month after, because people are going to crazy about the outcome, no matter what it is!😂
I don’t know, Trish…l the lack of a lipgloss might be a deal-breaker…. ; ^ )… on a serious note, it’s good to hear all these considerations before I take a plunge into fleece purchase. I would like to play with on without all the cleaning, skirting, scurfing issues. It might be another year before I go for it, though. So thanks for this.
I am sorry you gave a backlash. These days people are so stressed anxious whatever, that nothing seems to be said without something being said in anger. I come to your site to learn and be in your company. I enjoy it and I’d us not stressful. Keep on keeping on friend.
I think it's something to do with the current cultural climate too, so I do keep that in mind. So glad you are getting some fun and relaxation out of my channel!
Old video, I know. But a photographer's trick is to tilt glasses by raising the back of the arms on the sides of the head and raising the light source a tad. I don't know if it would work for a video though.
Thank you for being such a bright spot! I love how you explain things. Im still working on learning to spin but can't wait until I get to the point I think Im ready to buy a fleece. Can You explain how you will spin the Finn fleece or what the characteristics are that you like about the yarn you will get from it.
I will have a video out about this fleece in the next month or so, so yes. Thanks for the great idea! I washed it yesterday, so I will go through the process in that video coming up!
I think your videos are all amazing. I have learned so much from you. You will always run into those sour apples out there. I don't think they can find happiness in much. Do you have any advice on what fleece I could blend with alpaca? I don't want to take the softness away but would like to buys something fun to mix. Thank you for you genuine videos!
That is a beautiful fleece. I like the idea of pouring into 3 containers...do I need a second pitcher if I also want it to be processed when it arrives 😉. I live north of Houston and we are watching Storm Beta - I think I will spin while it rains tomorrow
Hi... just wondering if you could take us through the terminology used in fleece buying. The sellers/ farmer uses words to describe the fleece i don't understand. Im trying to buy my first fleece online I could use all the information i could get to make an informed purchase. Much thanks
I will put that on my list and start paying attention to the terminology. I think I've gotten so used to it that I don't really think that it might be confusing. Thanks for the idea!
So happy I found this video!!! I bought a Finn fleece a while ago. I need to get a better look at it so I can figure out how much cleaning I need to do! Any videos you'd recommend? Or books? I also have a Hampshire that a friend sent me.
I have a couple videos on skirting and washing from last summer. It's been so long since I watched videos on the topic, I really can't remember. But I will say this, don't let people talk you into buying things that are $80 a gallon. I've tried everything and soap is soap pretty much. There are additives like enzymes and other things you don't want, so the most basic soaps are the best.
@@FiberLoveDiary thank you! I'll look. We bought this from a friend who said the belly and butt were removed. I'm too cheap to spend 80 dollars on soap... my ancestors, I'm sure, used regular soap. ❤
@@HirschfeldHandknits exactly. I tell myself that all the time. My ancestors did this with almost no tools but a lot of patience. I should be doing something amazing because I have the tools 🤣
You can dye them, but you get more like an undertone. I had/have a fleece I bought at Maryland S&W that was very black, but the tips were lighter from the sun. I overdyed it, and once it's carded it reminds me of those cars with the paint that shows a different color when you get it in the light, if that makes sense. It does stay dark though.
I have, but not for several years. I don't do preorders in my own shop and I don't participate in them. There are lots of great sellers out there. The Facebook group called Fiber Transaction can help you find one.
Sorry I have a question. So that wool is raw unwashed but skirted? Is it a whole fleece or half of a fleece? I want to weave some rugs but know nothing about the wool and all of the terminology that goes along with it. How much fleece is needed to make like a 2' x 4' rug for example. I'm still having a hard time finding any info on everything. So exactly what did you pay $50.00 for? I would like to know every single thing as I have an extremely low budget that I have to live on. What I live on in a month a lot of people spend in a couple of days. So thank you for more info & I love your videos and I think you are a very good person that spreads love and positivity. Thank you for your videos and information. I will also check the links in the information below.
What is up with all the hate? I just don't get it. Don't like the video...hard left! I love your videos and you really remind me of my friend Tricia, who I adore.
I came across a saying a while ago, it was something like this: Regular people don't go around trying to destroy others. Their choice of actions speaks to their own brokenness.
Thank you for all your videos!!! They always make my day :)
Trish Macqueen - or to put it another way, “That’s a them problem.”
Thank you so much for your openness and honesty Trish! You have been such a bright spot during these past several months for me. You keep doing you!
So beautiful... please make a video of this fleece. Would love to see what you do with it. Be safe😊
It's coming, but will probably be a few weeks. I have a bunch in the queue ahead
I had the same problem with my glasses, so when I got my new prescription I added glare free lens. That took care of the problem.
You look and are wonderful without lipgloss. And so is the fleece 😁
Thank you for being you!!!! I love that you are so real. NEVER NEVER NEVER let any negative comments change you. You have such a wonderful spirit. Love the fleece. And thank you for all the great information. 😊
Thank you so much!! I don't let it get me down at all now, but at first I did a little bit.
You are the best! I always appreciate your chipper pragmatic realness. You are always so fun to watch. Even without lipgloss! You always highlight the joy in the little things that make all us fiber people tick. Thanks.
LOL Even without lipgloss 😂💜. I'm trying to train myself not to use it if I have to put a mask on because it just ends up everywhere.
I agree about the negativity - don't let it get you down. You keep on providing interesting, informative and entertaining videos about FIBER - thank you!!!
It doesn't get me down now. A little at first, but now I just keep it moving! Thank you :)

Did you see that paradise fibers had some wool or fleece? for sale with pictures of the sheep? They were so cute!
I didn't see it! I'm trying to spin down my crazy stash at the moment,so I'm turning a blind eye when i can stand it! Hahahaha

Interesting! I wonder what started it all. Seems like people are getting a bit crazy with politics, so maybe it's bleeding all over the place 😜

The fleece you bought looks so pretty. You are a wealth of information. Thank you for sharing. 🤗
Thank you! 😊It's all washed, so I will have a video out in the next few weeks about how I used it.
Thanks Trish! I needed and enjoyed this video today! You are genuine and I appreciate that so much! What a beautiful fleece!
Thank you so much!
So pretty! I can’t believe they fit that in that small box. Can’t wait to see you work with it.

Trish I love you and appreciate your honesty and you-ness. I love your channel.
Hi Trish, Thanks for sharing the metaphor, it makes complete sense, very useful information, so glad you explained and thank you again, Hugssss
So glad it was helpful for you!
Lol Trish you’re going to cost me more money, now I want to buy a fleece.
You can do it for a pretty reasonable price if you're cheap like me 😂😂
I love your creativity!
As always great information! I’m not there yet but someday!!
You can do it!
I always ask myself "who owns the problem?" I think your videos are wonderful. I love wstching!!
It took me SO LONG to really learn that it wasn't even about me. What a relief!
I am so glad to hear you say this. Read about self efficacy. You are truly amazing. Don't let any negative person rob you of your amazing talent.
Always be ewe! LOL You can't please everyone, but I can say, I love your channel. You are full of info!
You're the best!
LOVE your channel! It’s not the same stuff over and over and I like that if you make a mistake, I, hopefully, learn from it. Keep up the good work!
After the election, I can put them back on Follow status but maybe a month after, because people are going to crazy about the outcome, no matter what it is!😂
I appreciate your honesty.
I look every day for your videos and I appreciate you. And you have taught me more than you know.
I'm so glad!
I love your videos! Thank you for sharing you experiences.
looks nice! cant wait to see what you do with it.
I am sorry you gave a backlash. These days people are so stressed anxious whatever, that nothing seems to be said without something being said in anger. I come to your site to learn and be in your company. I enjoy it and I’d us not stressful. Keep on keeping on friend.
Oh geez. I meant I am sorry you HAVE backlash.
Sorry I am misspelling like a crazy person
I think it's something to do with the current cultural climate too, so I do keep that in mind. So glad you are getting some fun and relaxation out of my channel!
Great video!
Old video, I know. But a photographer's trick is to tilt glasses by raising the back of the arms on the sides of the head and raising the light source a tad. I don't know if it would work for a video though.
Thank you! I'll try the glasses trick. I still read comments on old videos. I just don't respond unless it's necessary. ❤️
ummmmm....can almost smell the wonderfulness :) .... Are you planning on spinning this all by itself or blend it with other things?
If nothing goes into the risk and effort to process yourself, then it allllll goes into dollars, so you just need a fat wallet!
Hi... just wondering if you could take us through the terminology used in fleece buying.
I think you and your channel are great and you probs find that woman was jealous of you x
@@FiberLoveDiary in full skirts over open fires in six feet of snow, uphill both ways. 🤣
hi Trish! So a question...on a dark fleece do you just leave it its natural color? Can it be dyed? Thanks!!!!
I'm definitely in it to win it!
Have you bought fleece from Tenney Farm?
Hey Deborah. Would you please email me at fiberlovediary@gmail.com? I have a couple questions to help me answer what you're asking.
lovely looking fleece
What is up with all the hate? I just don't get it. Don't like the video...hard left! I love your videos and you really remind me of my friend Tricia, who I adore.
I like you!!
