Good video and it’s so refreshing to see someone giving a more realistic overview of selling and how difficult it can sometimes be. I watch so many resellers on here and you only ever hear “easy profit” or “instant sale” and rarely ever tell you how long some things actually sit around for.
My eBay sales have been So patchy, but I keep going because it’s my favourite selling platform. I’m fortunate to not need too much money from eBay so I feel for anyone who relies on their sales. I hope your new little boy is doing well xxxxx
Great video, realistic and honest sales, thank you for being so honest and open about your business, love these types of videos as they are a great help to most beginners/part timers of which I’m one 🥰
I love your what's sold videos you have such fantastic product knowledge makes it so interesting and I always pick up a tip or two. Thank you Chloe ❤ love and hugs hope family is keeping well
Thank you. A good video would be all things posting: 1) Estimating & calculating postage costs (weighing, sizing etc) 2) Who to use 3) Who not to use 4) Insurance 5) Cost versus risk benefits 6) Material costs of packaging and sourcing 6) Delivery paranoia 7) labelling (and costs; printing, labels etc) Lol. I don't plan on being a reseller but have a load of stuff (non-clothes) to sell just to clear the house out. Regards, Ian
The short answer is yes. Their fees are difficult to understand and calculate, because the apply a fee the postage and packaging costs. So you have to inflate these costs, to cover the overhead. Then there is all the time involved in packing and posting products etc. You would be better off at a car boot sale. I noticed you don't list postage and packaging costs?
It’s getting tougher and tougher on eBay! The postage and packaging is all included in the fees. I use a website called eBay fees calculator. You add all that info into it and it consolidates it all into one number ☺️
A promoted listing is still 1 listing. By promoting it ithe listing is advertised outside of ebay meaning it can be found via a google search or similar. So if your listing sold by someone finding your item from a google search you will pay the promoted listing fee, if it sold by someome just finding it on the ebay platform then no fee is charged. Does that make sense? Also iam having the same poor sales, iam also running the same 20% sale and also accepting reasonable offers to try and get things moving. I honestly feel ebay are capping my sales. Nearly every day ill have a run of sales up to around £70-£80 then they just die. This is happening all the time. It feels like they just wont let me have a really good day and are preventing it.
Thank you so much for that info! I should’ve researched it properly before mentioning it in the video 🙈 the slump in sales is normal for me in the summer. But this is worse than the past few years! Hoping it picks up for q4!!
@@chloesresellingjourney I think we're all suffering. Ive always just sold on ebay but have started using vinted, it's good for shifting some things that just wont sell on eBay although they don't sell for much but it all adds up.
My daughter is a slave to fast fashion that she wears a couple of times then forgets about (so not-eco-friendly but I love her). Then, after a few months she phones me up and says she's having a clear out and do I want some clothes to sell. Thing is, a lot of what she gives me is Primark, New Look, Misunderstood, Pretty Little Things and such like but they're usually in as-new condition. I don't make huge amounts of profits from them but with eBay's no fees on clothing and the fact that they cost me nothing I don't mind. I never promote anything.
@@chloesresellingjourney Her last 'gift' was 8 black bin bags full of clothes and shoes and to be honest, I just haven't have time to spend sorting them out and I really must make the effort. I did sort some of the shoes out and they've sold, no problem. There are a lot of plain t-shirts that I was thinking about bundling up. She's a size 16/18 which I think is a popular size so I'm not worrying about them not selling, even if it's fast fashion as long as the price is right they'll go. I live 2 doors away from a charity shop so anything not up to scratch will be donated to them.

@@kafkaian thanks for the suggestion! 😀
Had some great sales Chloe, really jealous as sales on eBay are very flat for most people these days. I hope everyone is OK, including the new baby. ❤
Oh they haven’t been great for me either! This was over a span of time. Thank you ☺️
❤❤❤. Hi miss seeing your pets x hope they are all ok xx
I haven’t filmed a vlog in a long time! Maybe I’ll do one soon so I can show off the pets again ❤️

I thought there was no fees for clothes on eBay
Only for private sellers. Business sellers still sell fees

Have you tried bundling it? Maybe aiming it towards other sellers? I hope you managed to do something with them! X

Ebay doesn't charge for clothes any more.what fee's is that?
I think you still pay fees on clothing if you are a business seller.
Business sellers still pay fees 👍
I’m a business seller with a business account, therefore I still pay fees. Fees were only wavered for private/personal accounts ☺️
Sorry forgot about business seller that's right I m private seller that's why
