      Is SoC your first gacha / tactical ? We are still in the honeymoon phase of the game. Time will tell but since it’s a first year game, its stock will only go up.

      @SeuOu 17 дней назад +10

      @@seekeroftruth45 Disagree, the monetization is standard, except you don't need dupes to max out characters...that is HUGE compared to games like wuwa and genshin where you need to pull a character 6x to max them out. On the one hand you have SoC giving you a maxed SSR for at most $150 + 3 months in-game farming, and genshin capping at about $900 for the same. THAT is trash monetization. Gacha monetization in general is cancer, but kudos to SoC for not requiring dupes.

      I’ll be honest I think the positives are completely deserved for this game.
      Anyone who played the last fire emblem game is just mindblown how well this game is made.
      It’s so much fun playing yourself. Every map feels unique. That is huge for a gacha Game.
      A lot of fun events puzzle.
      The sweep system makes perfect sense.
      The only thing I want is maybe a subscription that gives me 1 energy pack per day.
      Also some sort of raid where people put in 1 unit.

    Industry insider on this one; That's good mobile-only numbers for a game of this cost / size. Games like WW/Hoyoverse titles' costs are astronomical so they need to be raking in to make up the initial investments and ongoing costs. SoC as a localized release with these numbers *should* be telling leadership they have the install base and interest to continue support.
    Agree with the ZZZ being more Console/PC and needing the cross-platform data to see a closer analog to performance there

    • @gintobitim1611
      @gintobitim1611 17 дней назад +2

      Yup but they could earn more if they improve their game and cater to the larger audience. (Casual gacha players) FGO would have similar dev cost to SoC I think? It's a 2015 game. Yet it's earning an astronomical amount, more than Genshin this month despite FGO being a 9 years old game.
      I saw a comment that the TW server SoC is only earning $1mil/month after the popular phase is over. They tried to remedy with new weapon banners but failed. If that is true, that is also going to be the fate for global version in few months time.. Same flaws will lead to same outcome. I hope the global version fixes the flaws and change it's fate. E.g. make event content (such as interval acts) easier to sustain the casual playerbase because the casual players are the ones that brings in the most money in the long run. Make content more auto-able. Etc.

      @gintobitim1611 FGO is an anomaly, it can't be used as general example. Their IP is so big that they legit can get away by doing nothing for it's entire month (literally dead month) and still be top 10 on the list. If any other game try to do that, people will start screaming EoS from miles away, even giant like Hoyo game will suffer if they ever do dead month
      A better standard for comparison would be game like Azure lane or Arknight, those are also a very old game with big fanbase and they can chill at around 2-3 mil/month, but even they has their own advantage. I would say for tactical game 1-2 mil/month is good enough, especially if we consider the fact that we can farm shard in SoC, making dupe not really that important (dupe does save time for sure, but you get the point)

    • @EnriqueTDL
      @EnriqueTDL 16 дней назад +1

      @@abdulzaelani9954 Yeah, I think this is right too where the audience can be chalked up to a lot of IP fans who want to engage with the IP more, where games like WotV and SoC are about the singular experience (even if you like FFTactics, these are their own IPs and experiences, so you only get the genre overlap, and smaller IP)

      As someone who's played TRPGs since the 90s, I don't really care about super flashy graphics and stuff since I grew up playing 16-bit games. But I _do_ care about visibility and movement on maps, and I think SoC doesn't always succeed in that department. For example, in the current "Scorched Earth" event there's a battle that takes place in the mountains during a blizzard, and it's so hard to see what's going on or where my team is. In terms of movement, I hate that I can't really choose the trajectory of my character's path. It doesn't make a difference for a lot of characters, but it matter for some, like the Vlderian Warrior whose attack strength is dependent on how many tiles he moves/jumps.

    AFK Journey has bankrupted me

  • @OmeGames
    @OmeGames 13 дней назад

    If this game did flop is because of the horrible imbalance of resources gain and the qol that's insane missing in a 2024 game, what killed it for me is the Castalia bs and lack of pathing and directions choosing, too many bads for this game to keep on playing for me.
    Also if the first month got 4m, it will only get worse from now on, most of my friends already quit because of the glaring game problems because seeing them not being fixed on TW version either for so long takes any hope they will be, they just gonna pump content and characters and that's it, good game that's missing key features and needs some reworks for some resources.

    The problem I see in this game is that the end content can be done by uncommon units, so theres really no need to pull for legendary units. So that would equate to lower revenue for the game. Look at hoyoverse, their initial units will always be powercrept so players will for the newer and stronger units. In SoC theres no point, since you can clear everything with low tier units.

    • @JTT126
      @JTT126 16 дней назад

      Wait til Tower of Adversity comes out as well as live pvp. You might wanna pull for legendary units then.

    • @Rock-vk9ei
      @Rock-vk9ei 16 дней назад

      The progression is actually the problem. F2P will on average have like 3-4 legendary characters (Gloria, Col/Beryl, Beginner Banner, Pity) excluding free ones like Maitha, Faycal, Rawiyah. These characters are all decently usable, but eventually they will get stonewalled by enemy stats inflation because the characters’ stats is tied to player progression. This makes allies who can dodge lethal attacks, do piercing damage or DoT, and crowd control very important, which just happen to be abundant on the common characters, and it doesn’t matter the level or stats difference between them.

I think it really appears to mobile players as it is very "playable" on handheld, unlike genshin for example where the best experience would probably be on a controller or pc

    Assuming these carts are somewhat correct, PC/Console client doesn't change anything at all: is gacha's revenue dropped then it dropped proportionally on all platforms (unless there are platform-specific reason like deletion from app/play store or significant perfomance issues making a game unplayable on specific platform).

    the doomer shit over wotv is kind of exhausting. game is far from over, its in a slump but last month was FF8, not a huge title and Seifer isn't a huge draw. If FFBE is any indication there is plenty of fuel in the tank and they did basically do a full overhaul of FFBE a few years in. gotta have a little more faith than "the writing is on the wall" dude
    soc is a fine game but we're so deeply in the honeymoon phase

    • @cruelangel0836
      @cruelangel0836 17 дней назад +3

      I agree that the doomer calls of EoS are annoying and have been around since the 1st year anniversary but it's a bit concerning at this point because it's Gumi's ball to drop. People are less and less enthused about the state of the game with constant meta-defining 100 cost units and holo VCs costing more and more vis to guarantee pity (and then more vis with the case of holo VCs because we can't use stars to build them). They're not making people feel good about pulling or about spending money to do so because if you do the very next unit might hard-counter it. They have a couple of discounted vis packs that people are more than willing to throw money at but they only ever release them once or twice a year. There's no more vis-back banner or even vis-back for spending vis during a period. We're getting a non-FF collab soon which will energize the people who are fans of the Mana series but for everyone else it seems like an easy skip for the most part. And then after that we'll likely be into an FF rerun, and as much as I love FFT, an FFT rerun with no new units and updated units who almost certainly won't be able to hang with the current crop of power creep will mean even less spending.
      So while I don't think EoS will be tomorrow or even in the next month or two, Gumi isn't doing much to reverse the trajectory the game seems to be going in.

    • @serv80s
      @serv80s 17 дней назад +1

      @@cruelangel0836 You're definitely right on a few of those fronts. It's a heck of a screwup to put out this many powerful characters back to back and holo VCs are awful too. I have to imagine though that they're not deaf to what's been said and I want to say one of the devs has mentioned wanting to rework the game or make a "WotV 2" type deal makes me think of the big overhaul they did with FFBE. Sooner they do it, the better. It feels pretty bad to have so many unusable units. The Veritas discoball item seems like a good solve for them, but for older units need more uplifting and if not, reduced pull rates on them. I think it's doable and within their capacity to do so, but influencers like Auron and ReadyPlayerWill and so on gotta cool the jets a bit on the game is imminently going to end because they're in a slump.
      As for the fault on Gumi though it's not as much in their hands as it is SquareEnix. They're the ones that set prices, deals, and that kind of thing to ensure they get paid for their license to the third party (Gumi) and then Gumi has to get paid so they can keep things going. They also give thumbs up and downs on collaborations, what's going to be next on the pipeline and put stuff out there. I'm with you on Secret of Mana and not caring at all but it's Gumi being told a new game is coming out, might as well continue brand recognition for Square, etc. And SquareEnix has been crapping the bed for several years now with absolutely baffling decisions so they're flailing and putting pressure on all of their titles and I wouldn't be surprised if their third party devs are feeling the squeeze too.
      Either way though I think we both agree they gotta course correct and sooner than later. Maybe 5th anniversary will be a sign of that? We'll see, I reckon.

    Tbh.. I expected more. I feel that players who're satisfied with that number are just coping because we want it to succeed as we already spent money on this game.
    Here's why I feel it's underperforming.. Many well-known hoyoverse CCs promoted this game. Many people talked about it. This game gets as much publicity as AFK journey. Yet this game's revenue ended up 10 times lesser even though they were both released on new regions last month.
    It doesn't show SoC failed but it does shows the gacha market. The gacha community prefers games that have a more casual approach and can be auto'ed if you want.

    • @rogown2
      @rogown2 17 дней назад

      I only know 1 well known hoyo CC that promoted it, the rest were big in their niche. The truth is you don't put in hoyo/Wu Wa production value, you don't make those bucks anymore unless you are one of the GOATs. $10 mil is good for the mobile side for a game of it's type.
      That said, I don't buy the "most people probably play this on PC" argument either wouldn't be surprised if it made less than a quarter as much there.

    SoC is just a filler for me to wait for similar games with a lot of skills to use in a battle, like Alchemist Code, and if there is a new game that like Alchemist Code, I'll jump the ship right away
    I hate limited skill slots in SoC, we got 5 slots, basic attack, reaction and the rest are 3 that combine with passive, aura, and active skill, it's a waste of all those skills
    Alchemist code is by far the best srpg on mobile to date, each character has an arsenal of skills to use in battle, the possibility is endless... such a shame it becomes abomination due to gumi being gumi 🥲
