Just finished this for dinner, sooo good!!! I used toasted sunflower seeds instead of peanuts as I didn’t have any and added a red onion at the start. Thanks guys!!!
So hang on, you have FABULOUS cookbooks (Yeah, I have them all!!), great cooking courses (yes, I tried!!), what used to be my favourite shop in whole of Ireland while I lived there, you can do handstands, you do the crazy winter swims (If you have never visited Ireland in January, you would not know what cold is!) and now you have a recipe for VEGAN KUNG PAO in 5 (!!!) minutes?? Is there nothing you guys cannot do?? Hats off to you!
I add a bell and a dab of sriracha if my stomach isn't feeling up to serious spice and it keeps it on the spectrum! Sometimes a little cayenne powder helps too, depending on the dish
Looks great, I will make this! 40 grams of peanuts??? Is that a half ounce? 2 pounds? Never can understand metric unfortunately, ha ha. When I was about 10, they started to teach us the metric system in school. I guess all us stubborn Americans couldn't grasp it, or refused to learn it cuz they stopped those lessons quickly. I'm now 58 and still don't get it. Thank God there's easy access to conversion charts, Thank you internet! And Thank you guys, I love your channel and I am subscribed!
INFO: Szechuan peppercorns is a spice produced from the husks of seeds of two species of the prickly ash shrub (Zanthoxylum), which is in the rue or citrus family. The pinkish-red husks around the seeds are used for the Sichuan peppercorn spice.
That looks really good! I will have to try it! On a side note, am I the only one who notices the fridge says "Smeg"? As a fan of the show "Red Dwarf", this amuses me! 😁
Yes I will definitely try this 😋😋😋 Myself I’m in the process of making black bean burgers, guess where I got the recipe 😊 Thanks a lot for all the inspiration ☮️💟🌱🤗
Just finished eating it having made your recipe (with a few adjustments). YUM!I substituted peanuts for cashews, red wine vinegar for 1 tbsp white wine vinegar and 1 tbsp pomegranate vinegar and of course left out the Tamari sauce (YUCK)!!! GOTCHA DAVE!!! If you read this comment - I had you there for a second didn't I?! 😝 Oil isn't the liquid "black gold" - TAMARI IS! Love your channel :) Shana Tova (means Happy New Year in Hebrew) - can't be much worse than this last year has been now can it?
LOVVVVVE your show, always have. But let's face it, there is a difference between a pair of twins (in sync with each other) vs 1 person cooking. You can literally do it in half the time together hahahah
Looks like you both had loads of fun doing this one. Amazing dish! Most importantly though… which one of you cleaned up the rice from the floor afterwards? lol. Have a great weekend there, Gents! 😎
In the video you sear the tofu but the linked video says to put the cubed tofu in the sauce and let it sit first. The seared would have been better cause I followed the linked version. 😕😞
Hi guys! Don't take it the wrong way as I love your recipes and I've done quite a lot of them but I really don't understand the concept of this 5 minutes thing. The ingredients don't look like they are cooked through (especially the tofu as I'm sure it would be much nicer if it was a bit more fried and the sauce needs to reduce down a bit to get that yummy thickness) and we all know that it"ll take 15/20 minutes to do all the prep and cook the rice. Having said that I'll definitely try this recipe out but I'll take my time doing it (probably 30 minutes from start to finish) and I'll enjoy the cooking process. If people want to eat it 5 minutes they can just bang something all-ready made in the microwave. Sorry!
If you watched other videos he says it’s about getting people young and old to get involved in vegan cooking that doesn’t have to take an hour to cook. This is fast and easy. They are giving you a base line and you can change it or take as long as you want.
Yeah, it's not 5mins though when the preparation of all that chopped up stuff is at least 20mins for a normal person who isn't a trained chef with super fast knife skills. And the rice you need to go with the dish doesn't boil in 5mins either, that usually takes 20mins alone. I mean it really looks delicious, but please be a bit more real with the time, it's so annoying when cooking shows brag about ridiculously short amounts of time needed to prepare a dish and in reality it takes at least 5 times as long.
I’m sorry but i think your kung pao is a bit confused nationality🤣🤣🤣🤣. It’s better to use rice wine or cooking sake instead of mirin. You can use doubanjiang that is accidentally vegan and vegan ground.

Love the 5 minute videos. I have a block of Tofu in the fridge, READY FOR THIS!
Super stuff thanks enjoy 😄💚
This looks so yummy! Could I use red bell pepper instead of the chilies and get the same flavor pallet? I'm a bit sensitive to the spice. ✌

Thank you for the very interesting recipe!
Yum, I can’t wait to make this ‼️You guys have the best recipes ‼️
Thanks so much
Another great recipe. I am always shocked how many people don’t know how to cook healthy meals. The Happy Pear is really doing a public service here.
Great recipe guys…it looks delicious 😋
Spectacular recipe! Thanks.
Thanks a mill 😄💚
Prep time?
The rice has to be steaming hot or a bit oily to be plated like that.
this looks soo good I'll try this one for sure! Thank you dudes!

Thank you! New vegan here thanks to you
Every time you guys point at the wide angle lens my head pops back 😆 great vid!
I want to try this
Awesome love it!!!!
Thanks a mill
I love your channel! I can't eat much soy as it gives me migraines, would probably swap canned chickpeas for the tofu.
These challenges always make me a little tense.. I always expect someone to get burned. 😝 This dish looks incredibly delicious!

LOL! So true. Everything is also prepped, that's way more time
try cutting tofu in slices and start with it on the pan than it will take in all the flavors
Nice one thanks
"delicate Irish palate" 😂

What kind of peppers are those?
To replace the brown sugar with maple syrup, should I use the same ratio?
Yep, go 2 tablespoons of maple 🍁 this is delicious, I made it tonight!
@@scottyghouse Cool. Thanks. I'm going to make it this week.
Anyone know a non alcoholic replacement for red wine vinegar ?
I already have non alcoholic mirin
I used rice wine vinegar, don’t know if that’s alcoholic or not🤷
There is no wrong way just different ways to the same path.

Five minutes to cook it, how long to clean that kitchen? :D
I like how you say TO-fu? 😁
Thanks it’s the irish accent
Kung Pao is also the weirdest movie ever. Don't google it.

Two messy guys struggling to cook. I am sure it tastes good but will never eat anything cooked by them. Guys be organised.
