No, if youre going to play at range with the Scar H I would recommend heavy barrel and egro grip. Those are the two attachments that do very well at range or if you are going to hold corners. Egro grip beats out all other grips at range bc of movement and heavy barrel is the best long range attachment for single shots bc smaller base spread so longer 100% chance to hit. @@VanLupen Yes if you want to run comp angled on low rpm guns you can. But you need to two round burst and only aim for the head. It is kind of meme but it gives you the highest chance of getting 100% head shot kills in lockers technically. not great tho

The down side of a grip is that your spread value decreases slower with a grip. This means that you have to wait longer for your spread to reset after each burst. In reality this is so minor its trivial. The reason egro is used is simply that low rate of fire guns accumulate spread so slowly it doesn't matter and thus a stubby grip is sort of useless. Ergo is nice bc it gives you more up close potential than any other grip.
Thanks man. I literally had no idea what any of the attachments did so i usually copied other players. Now I can sorta confidently make my own setups 👍
Carbines are good for classes that don’t have ARs imo. Like Recon doesn’t have PDWs or LMGs either for that full auto capability, Carbine fills the role.
When I'm playing engineer in a more open map or aggressive recon, I prefer the m4. I know stats may say it dumb, but something about the m4 burst accuracy just feels good.
Use whatever you like to use. Im just saying that PDWs are objectively better since engagement distances are very short on all maps and PDWs are better up close. Try them out maybe youll like them better. This isnt a you should do this that and this but rather here are the attachments that will make your guns feel more consistent and enjoyable.
m4 is not dumb, if you like doing headshots, its a headshot machine, no other weapon is better for hs. the weapons he say are good for hs, it usually is not, because every low rpm weapon, may have low recoil, but has shit spread n acc. m4, m416 n l85 are great for hs, as trying to shoot anything at any distance.
Strange stuff, I still prefer m416 way more with HB and Stubby, it’s a laser. Though I blame my style, I play something between HeXe and Sab3lo. I mean, I have more tendencies to push as Sab3lo, but I still prefer keeping those angles and being prepared for those engagements as HeXe. So I don’t use Ergo that much at all. HB can be used almost on all LMGs btw. Definitely should be used on RPK and RPK-12, Type 88 and L86 for sure. Comp/Stubby is a good combination for ACE 23, when you play those conquests and ranges are not easy to be minimalized. M16 is very, very complicated to use. Various setups can be used in various ranges. Don’t use carabines is very bold statement. They still have better muzzle velocity than PDWs. Which matters on Conquests. Ace21, Ace52 can be used very effectively. AK5C and AKU12 are laser accurate, etc. ACWR has incredible stopping power due to rate of fire, etc. Also MTAR and SG553 are very effective.
Nothing you have said in this makes any sense and is demonstrably false. 1. Heavy barrel should not be used on LMGs bc recoil. They all have way more recoil than ARs. So no 2. Comp stubby is not a good combination period. Also ummm average range is like 15m even on vehicle maps. So no 3. M16 is very easy to use. Just click. Also any attachments can be used but some are stupid. 4. Carbines are useless. Muzzle velocity means nothing in close quarters 5. Why are you playing infantry on a vehicle map?
@@theangrynun9298 1. Type 88 has almost 0 recoil. Rpk also, rpk-12 even less, AWS also almost no recoil. If you cannot control basic recoil, then obviously you shall not use HB. 2. I never said that comp/stubby is anything miracle. I can just see purposes of it. Well ppl who don’t farm lockers/metros only obviously need to shoot at longer ranges than 15m. 3. Easy to use, tough to master. I don’t see too many top players who would use it anyhow often. 4. Obviously, clever answer. 5. Not really sure if you play conquests, but 32 ppl cannot fit into one vehicle. Also there’s still decent bunch of ppl who enjoy destroying those vehicles.
@@founik None of this negates anything I said. LMGs have more recoil for their RPM than any other class. There is no purpose of comp stubby other than holding angles in lockers and metro. Also why are you trying to increase the range of a gun that sucks at range. Again 15m is average distance even on vehicle maps. M16 isnt tough to master. Its just annoying to use. Ease of use is important. Also if you are destroying vehicles you arent using a gun. Again 99% of all kills happen inside of 35m which is still in PDW range. Why do you keep not reading or listening to what people say.
Late to the party, but out of curiosity how do you feel about running Suppressors? I usually end up using them on my ARs, Carbines, and PDWs. Don’t have to worry as much about not firing when on flanking routes and stuff, and the velocity drop isn’t too bad at the range of most Battlefield non-sniper/marksmen/machine gunner engagements in my experience Also thoughts on Flash Hiders, I use them on snipers and DMRs mainly. Makes a little easier to see for follow up shots when rapid firing and also helps keep your position a bit more hidden without as much velocity drop.
@@theangrynun9298 the aim assist isn't very beneficial, for example imagine a guy coming out a door and you want to aim at his head, the aim assist actually throws your red dot to his chest or arm instead of head.

Should have also told about flash hider and angled grip because they can be useful it used correctly with the weapons. I use a ar160 and angled grip with an ACOG and I destroy people at range. Same goes for M4 and I almost always use a flash hider on most guns.
Flash hider does nothing at all. It doesnt even hide the flash. It just makes youre gun worse for no benefit. Take it off. Also angled grip is just a not a worth while attachment. try out my attachments I am sure you will feel a difference and its better.

You sort of answered this in another comment but I do want clarification. No laser? I mean I guess they can give away positioning but no laser or torch (aware torch doesn’t affect the gun at all) just seems so alien to me. Is it worse or just preference?
In my experience, the laser has way more cons than pros. For one, it has given away the position of players I otherwise would not have seen if they didn't have a laser equipped, you can see them through smoke, and three, if you are in the range in which you need to hip fire, then the hipe fire bonus given by a laser is pretty irrelevant. Only scenario I can think of a laser being effective is a really aggressive smg or shotgun playstyle
Do whatever it really doesn't matter. I personally dont run it bc I cant be asked to turn it on and off again in smoke and I play a lot of metro and lockers with smoke. But it does help. Also if you want to be cancer you can bind the flashlight key to something you can easily spam and win gun fights bc the other player is having a seizure.
One thing I’ve been wondering about is how accuracy resets. Does it reset the instant you let off the trigger, does it take until the gun recenters, or does it take an even longer amount?
Yes there is a time delay between after you stop shooting and when you can be accurate again. The spread decrease is very fast and it will take you longer to adjust your aim again than for the spread to reset back to base.
Hay bro, love your video and I keep coming back to it as a reference. Can you please update/clear up the description? for example: what should I use on the scar? Stubby+None or H-BAR+ERGO/STUBBY?
@@theangrynun9298 I’m sorry but I’ve watched the video several times and I still don’t understand why put stubby on the SCAR when it’s ROF is really low compared to other stubby-only ARs. @@chonky7964 The heavy hitting guns like the scar and the ace 52 have higher spread values that put them in the same category as the high rpm 5 btk guns like the aek.
In all honesty it’s mostly preference with the top 5 guns. Some kids shred with the ACE, but are absolute dogshit with the M16 and vice versa. Other kids shred with the AEK, but can’t play for shit with the SCAR-H. It’s nice that you have a variety to choose from in BF4. You can be an absolute God with one gun and be the biggest bot ever with the next one, which is statistically as equally good as the one you‘re a God with.
I find I get tangeable improvement while using the comp on the aek. And whether it's by accident or not I don't know. All I know is I dont just spray, I am very particular in my bursting. Comp stubby nets better results for me.
yes there is a difference. But up close there is none. Hor-Recoil only really matters at range and thats when we see the negatives of spread. It then becomes a problem and a curve of too much recoil or too much spread. There is a balance there and you can quickly go off one end. In my opinion its not worth putting in the extra effort to net a small increase in hit rate at a distance that the aek already gets smashed at by other guns. Just press W key and move closer.
Sym.gg is a new website and does not contain all the old forum posts. Thus a lot of info and data crunching is gone. Some of it is still there but a lot of the links and what not are broken.
My gun setups would make you laugh. I used to play this game every night and I have about 1300 hrs in it. I too a bunch of RUclipsr recommendations back then and never changed them. The most egregious is probably my M416 that I actually have a laser on lol. The thing is though, I have played with that M416 the most and I am almost afraid to change it at this point because I might screw with my muscle memory. I will try some of these out though
@@jefekeefsosa4998 Bc the first shot recoil multiplier doesnt happen until after the last bullet in the brust. Also spread is still a thing and stubby helps reduce spread.
Hey, a fresh RPK pleb here. I primarily play Locker/Metro (forgive me for my sins), so wanted to hear opinions about optional RPK sets for CQC. Is it similar to description's Ergo+H-Bar, or Stubby, or Stubby+H-Bar? How does it feel to you personally?
i have a question, with the stubby only guns or other assault rifles, whats your reason to not use laser sight? the slot is empty and you can turn that off, im a aek player, thanks
just started playing bf4 a week or so ago, and i’ve been autistically analyzing the damage models and spread statistics of the guns I run and how the attachments affect them, so this video was summed it all up for me. the autistic rambling was music to my ears and made my life a lot easier, so well done man. also, if you were to make recommendations for what you’d run in hardcore, what ar’s/lmgs would you run? I find myself going back & forth between the famas and aek, and while these guns absolutely shred on cqc maps like lockers, I find that i’m losing a lot of fights at range on larger maps. in hc (60% hp) what would you run, which attachments would you use, and why?
Semi auto slug shotgun, or scar h. Why bother with anything else in a game mode thats not meant to be balanced. Hardcore is pretty stupid and ruins the game balance.
Angrynun I value your opinion a lot and was curious which weapons you'd recommend a suppressor on to smash in pubs? Obviously not looking to use val/groza, want something with a bigger mag :)
Good players dont need a mini map to know where you are. easiest thing in the game to hear is the suppressor. Also bad players don't use their mini map. So why run them?
I disagree with the carbine one Unless you are playing locker or metro you can attach a target finder on a carbine whilst you can't do this on an assault rifle. Target Finder can be incredibly op
I like the independent game play, so I have to be support to get a constant flow of ammo. I don't like switching kits. So I have to play with carbines, and yes they are the weakest, but go with the MTAR and you still win a lot of battles. Just run with the Magnum for long range. Some will see this as a reverse playing style, but it works for me :-D
I just run the AEK with a vert grip and play super aggressive. But the stub is where it's at when you want to preserve more ammo, sanity, and friendly defibs.
Didn't hear anything about accessories. I always was under the impression the only stat changes they ever gave was a reduced hipfire spread with a lazer and everything else was just visual, i.e. lights. Is there something negative about them?
you mentioned in the description that pdws should all be run with a stubbie and heavy barrel; the ump 45 is an exception to this because of its very low rpm for its class of gun at 600, which is even slower than the scar-h. an ergo grip and hbar would be an appropriate loadout for the ump, right? you have a better grasp on the mechanics of this game than I do. Also, what's the point in running stubby on cqb maps like metro and locker? wouldn't ergo make more sense for the hip fire advantage
Egro grip is actually for long range fights. The hip fire stuff really doesnt do anything and youd be surprised just how good hip fire is in bf4. The cross hair is not representative at all. But the reason why ergo grip is good for long range is bc it allows you to move while you are at distance. Otherwise you would lose a lot of hit chance bc you are at moving spread. The reason why you want stubby is bc in CQB you end up spraying a lot more than at distance. This actually does matter especially if you want to change targets or what not. For that exact reason is why I dont recommend comp stubby. People are not machines which is almost required of a person to properly use that loadout well. Not worth the extra effort for so little benefit.
Then you can do that with other guns too. Why is this only exclusive to carbines. Not to mention PDW have a longer range for two shot head shot kills over carbines. Which means you win even more fights. Try a PDW they are good.
nice video, gonna try some of the suggested setups. What attachments would you recommend for the SKS? I'm thinking it would be stubby with hbar but i may be wrong. Any suggestions?

I must disagree, A-91, ACW-R, MTAR-21 are absolute beasts.
M4 as well. Slap a acog and an angled grip on there and you will be outgunning assault players at range.
They have worse hip fire, they have the same dmg model. They have more recoil. What excatly are carbines better at?
A91 is insane
@@theangrynun9298 bullet velocity
I have about 4k hours in BF4. ACW-R is my first choice. Good enough for SAB3LO too.
Carbines are good for classes that don’t have ARs imo. Like Recon doesn’t have PDWs or LMGs either for that full auto capability, Carbine fills the role.
take a shot everytime he says stubby
I was looking for this exact video.
So no
2. Comp stubby is not a good combination period. Also ummm average range is like 15m even on vehicle maps. So no
3. M16 is very easy to use. Just click. Also any attachments can be used but some are stupid.
4. Carbines are useless. Muzzle velocity means nothing in close quarters
Why do you keep not reading or listening to what people say.

quality content, keep up the good work.
Late to the party, but out of curiosity how do you feel about running Suppressors? I usually end up using them on my ARs, Carbines, and PDWs. Don’t have to worry as much about not firing when on flanking routes and stuff, and the velocity drop isn’t too bad at the range of most Battlefield non-sniper/marksmen/machine gunner engagements in my experience
Also thoughts on Flash Hiders, I use them on snipers and DMRs mainly. Makes a little easier to see for follow up shots when rapid firing and also helps keep your position a bit more hidden without as much velocity drop.
ty very much for the video it was really helpfull!!!!

Why don't you use laser sights or maybe target detector. On console aiming isn't as easy as on pc would you still say no to compensator or muzzle?
you can use laser and target detector.
you have aim assist what exactly do you need recoil adjustments for?

Just press W key and move closer.
thanks for explaining everything

i know this is really specific, but doesnt the heavy barrel make the 44. magnum perform worse? it just inscreases recoil for nothing i feel like
It reduces spread in all cases. Which is good on semi auto since recoil doesnt mean anything
you mentioned in the description that pdws should all be run with a stubbie and heavy barrel; the ump 45 is an exception to this because of its very low rpm for its class of gun at 600, which is even slower than the scar-h. an ergo grip and hbar would be an appropriate loadout for the ump, right? you have a better grasp on the mechanics of this game than I do.
If I'm reliably hitting headshots are we 100% sure ACW isn't worth using even for a carbine?
Then you can do that with other guns too. Why is this only exclusive to carbines. Not to mention PDW have a longer range for two shot head shot kills over carbines. Which means you win even more fights. Try a PDW they are good.
nice video, gonna try some of the suggested setups. What attachments would you recommend for the SKS? I'm thinking it would be stubby with hbar but i may be wrong. Any suggestions?
