Personally I thought the same with regard to the G18, but in close combat it is devastating thanks to automatic rate of fire, in locker or small maps it makes the difference.
G18 is the best by far, no reason to use any other pistol. If I run out of ammo I can switch to it and finish someone off as long as like 1-2 bullets hit and they're already low. Maybe consoles different but I play on PC so.
Fun fact: You can actually reload-cancel on the Uncia 6 as soon as your character starts pulling the speeloader back from the cylinder. That being said, I still prefer the SW40 for it's lower recoil.
Not a lot of know this so I guess I can't hold it against you, but the CZ-75 actually has the longest 4 hit kill range of the all the 4 hitters by almost 2x the second highest. And considering how much damage drop-off the pistols have, having one thats decently good in close and medium range is why I think its the best semiautomatic pistol.
I loved the CZ-75 so much because of its incredible range, solid ROF, and extremely consistent damage. And the SOUND... orgasmic... :') The Unica 6 too.
I liked that the first video in this series was geared more towards new players and I can appreciate the fact that most of this guys audience probably isn’t new to the game so I understand making a video with what are essentially inside jokes for a 9 year old game but I’d definitely appreciate a more noob focused approach to these videos
Statistically, the Compact 45 is supposed to outclass the 1911, but something about it seems.... off. Like the bullets seem to go in totally random directions while the 1911 always hits where I am aiming. Anyone else experience that? That's why its my go-to non-Magnum sidearm. But I'm not complaining because the 1911 is my favorite handgun of all time.
The FN57, B93R and Desert Eagle are easily my favorite sidearms to use in the game. FN57 is just really solid overall with it's higher magazine size. B93R, to me, feels a LOT better than the G18 in close quarters, and can still get easy kills at medium ranges with good recoil control. Desert Eagle just makes me feel like a god. I'm not really accurate enough to excel with it though.
P226 and compact 45 were easily my most used with maybe the m9 and 1911 as my second tier of used pistols. The cz-75 is ok but you retty much described it perfectly. I feel like it has a fairly specific range that it's most effective but other guns do close range much better and long range much better so it's at this awkward short-mid range in which revolvers are just as or more effective than it. Mostly used it for the Black Ops 1 nostalgia
Compact 45 is very fun in hardcore, can kill like 4 people in one clip + its reload and it's a headshot machine. I guess it's B in normal, but i think it's like A or maybe S tier in hardcore.

I played for 100+ hr in pistol only operation locker, and there is a gamerule that "G9D" was banned from the server, which stands for G18, 93R and Deagle. They are banned from the server as they are considered too OP that everyone is using these three weapons only. I think it pretty much sums up the pistol meta in this game. On the other hands, .44 is flawed by its nature with it's insanely long reload time, making it less powerful in close combat, which should not be on S tier. But all in all, whether its OP depends on the overall weapon build and map design. My personally favourite would be FN57, its fast firerate make it another top choice in operation locker despite its lower damage per bullet.
Recently started using Mares leg for the lulz of it, and its basically a worse .44 Magnum, but with silencer, and better scope options. Funny thing is, people rage when i kill them with my little pocketsniper and i find myself outsnipe snipers with it sometimes. I find it funny

IN BF3 i used the G18 all the time. when I eventually moved over to BF4 i chose the 93R but that gun has so much kick that if the enemy is slightly behind cover, its easy to miss most of your shots at their head or upper torso. Its hard to be accurate if you need to only shoot their foot or a limb peaking out of cover. I always used it though for like 2 years playing on PC and I was used to Its quirks and just dealt with it. It isnt bad and it gets plenty of kills but Ive died so many times because theyre behind cover and the gun just misses them. Yesterday I tried out the G18 for the first time on BF4 (also for reference I only play on hardcore servers so both guns kill fairly easy) and the G18 DESTROYED everyone comparatively to the 93R. despite being full auto if you just tap your mouse to "burst" it practically has no recoil and doesn't use much ammo before it kills an enemy. it just melted enemies faster than me shooting them with the 93R ever did in my 2 years on PC (I also played BF4 on PS3 and a lot of my time on BF3 was on PS3 for a couple years). In a panicked situation as well using the 93R was even worse with how much recoil it has / how many shots you miss (I usually use half a clip or slightly more when shooting an enemy in a panicked firefight or an up close shootoff), which is also a problem in HC since reloading loses all your ammo in the magazine when reloading and if you dont have at least half a mag in the 93R i might not kill the enemy. So after playing yesterday with the G18 i think im going to go back to it and try it out on BF4 more (I never even USED it in BF4 so I dont have any attachments unlocked for it either).
Even though there isn't really a reason to ever use the revolvers over the deagle, I don't care. Being the Texas Ranger with the big iron on his hip is so much more fun.
I love the .44 in BF3 but for some reason I can't figure it out in BF4. Not just the magnum actually, all revolvers. It always feels like the shot is delayed from when I click and I never manage to reliably make it work. In BF1 and BFV revolvers work great again, it's only in BF4 somehow.

Sw40 was op when I came out due to .44 and the rex having trigger delays then dice got rid of Tigger delay and the sw40 became the worse revolver. Revolvers in bf4 were in my opinion a sniper best friend since most snipers leave wounded targets just in range for 1 shot at almost every reasonable distance for a quick follow up shot making it faster to switch and fire with a skill cannon than recamber another round. Also every skill cannon sidearm can 1 shot headshot a target in 30m.
I hate to say this but I really like to use the glock but more to rush or if I am play has a sniper, the deagle and the magnum are good for large or medium maps but everything will depend on your precision more with the magnum since if you miss a shot you are completely dead

ACWR G18 Check their name on battlelog. 1.7 kd and 90% of their kills are these 2 weapons. Even with that intense META crutch beneath you im still loads better soloing and playing experimentally/casually using unorthodoxed "bad weapons" 😂😂😂

Used G18 for most of my play , switched to D-eagle recently and it feels so much more rewarding , although i do die in places where the g18 would have pulled trough , guess i need to git gud , other nice pistols MP443 (suppressed ) and compact 45 ( this gun just clicks for me 3 shot or 2 shot if you get a headshot )
M9 is the best Go to, good in a pinch kills good enough, G18 is too fast I feel gross for using that Pocket M416. .44Mag is where it's At Baby It's so much fun to use
