    Thank you Robin for teaching the way forward. It's so easy to be negative; what you are doing is teaching how to learn.

    But he didn't "jump" Mickey called him out, and with allll the shit he was already getting, he was going to get MORE shit if he declined Gall's challenge. He was in to learn and got thrown a Trainer as a Trainee...

    i think Robin and Luke Thomas are spot on and show that they are pros. its easy to achieve goals when they come on a silver platter, whether or not that silver platter is a reality check beatdown.

    UFC knew Punk would never be competitive so they used him to bring attention to a young "rising star" type. It was all about Mickey the whole time. UFC is trying to build stars now as opposed to just letting it happen organically.

      nah I don't think it had much to do with Gall at all.. the kid only had 2 fights, so to perceive putting CM Punk as a "boost" to this kids career, I'd think it wouldn't have been this early in his career.. maybe as a safe net, at the end of the day it was a win/win situation for the UFC but not as the main purpose for constructing that fight. And in my opinion, Punk obviously didn't look good that night but I will say he definitely didn't look "out of place" or "stupid" at any time. He looked like a fighter, a losing fighter but a fighter.

      emm powerz
      Seriously? He looked completely out of place to me. Imagine if he fought a guy like Platinum Perry, he might have been killed. Gall took mercy on him by choking him out instead of pummeling him into oblivion.

    • @AXharoth
      @AXharoth 8 лет назад

      there was no mercy involved

    I think he was out skilled but he sure gave his everything. No panicking and no huge mistakes apart from being not skilled enough. Well, the ONE thing he did was the charge at the start. Something that he would have learned had he had a few fights. Considering it was the UFC though i think he handled it pretty cool still.
    He lost with grace and after seeing that i kind of like the guy! It will be very interesting to see how he will be in his next fight!
    Im sure other people would have become better after going through the same training so two years of training and then UFC is not that unrealistic i think. Maybe Gall was just that good though? I can't remember seeing his prior fights so it's hard to judge his skill level by watching this fight.

    Batista went a better way. Smaller show, dipped his toe in the water. Actually WON, realised he was in over his head and then left.

    Punk said himself he wanted to start small, but then Dana made him the offer, and Gall bullied him into the fight, well knowking it would be a one-sided pounding. Why is Punk getting all the hate for that?

    Love the analysis here. Indeed, CM Punk was destined to fail because he jumped onto a high level immediately. Respect that he tried, but going to the journey by breaking it up would've been a more logical goal. On the other hand, he is getting up there in age so I would understand the rush.

    Some rich guys go on a safari to hunt lions to "test" themselves, some go heli- skiing down the worlds largest summits, some take epic sea voyages, CM Punk fought in the UFC for truck loads of cash. I'd prob do that too...or the heli-skiing.

    He didn't disrespect the sport, he didn't ask to be in the UFC Dana White made me an offer not only to fight in the UFC but also gave him a ton of money and he wouldve be stupid not to take it.

    The skipping of the steps was a disservice he did to himself. He was used by the beast and now he'll be spat out.. All under the premise that he got to "live his dream". It''s a dirty buisness man.

    Funny thing is, grappling is supposed to be Punk's strength. I thought he would have a better chance on the ground.

    • @Toshfunk
      @Toshfunk 8 лет назад +1

      It's his strength but he's a white belt... This should never have happened.

      Wow I was under the impression that Punk was one of those guys that trained for years in BJJ, but just didn't get belted. Some guys can get almost up to black belt level without going through the belting ceremony. Wtf was CM Punk thinking? He was a novice in EVERY sense.

    Mickey was not in the ufc before punk became an mma fighter. So they still could have fought at a lesser org. At least in the ufc he got what we all knew he would get but for way more money

    • @AXharoth
      @AXharoth 8 лет назад

      its smart to debut in ufc becuz if he didnt he prob wouldn't make as much money , imagine if he lost somewhere else 1st , people wouldnt care to see him again

  • @josephmoua2012

    So it's not fair and unjust to the fighters who spent 10-12 years fighting and dreaming to be in the UFC let alone on a main card? UFC needs to get their priorities straight.

    why are people ok with fighters doing horrible acting in films but get so upset when someone gets thrown into ufc because of their star power? and dont say for their safety because thats bullshit

    • @hyroproto4364
      @hyroproto4364 8 лет назад

      Fighters mostly are put in to do small action oriented side roles. Other than Carano who again did a action role be it the main character of a action movie non of the ufc stars have done acting. Also movie business is entertainment not a professional sport. Its like putting Punk to the semi finals of US Open against a professional tennis player for money. Firstly it devalues the sport, disrespect the professional athletes who have actually trained & have been doing it as a livelihood for more than half their lives & pisses off true mma fans because it's just a celebrity that has no right to be in there is put in the Octogan for the sole purpose of making money via PPVs . Loyal fans who have been following & supporting the ufc deserves better

    I don't think punk intended on starting at this level. He was given an opportunity that he would've been stupid not to take. Robin black said on other video that he would've done it too if he had the chance and now he gets on here talkin about how punk cheated himself.
