Brilliant rearguard action from Arsenal, but City will just not back down 😢 2 x draws vs rivals Liverpool and City shows how robust they are. Even when they haven’t won a game against the current top 5 all season, they are still there lurking. A nagging feeling too that Arsenal wouldn’t have played the way they did if Saka and Martinelli were fully fit and flying. A draw at Etihad is always a good result, but it feels like an opportunity missed regardless.

@@AlvenmodFoto on the contrary, I definitely think it is. Although a lot of credit has to go to the entire team for that as well especially the back line. Giving Raya an 8 when he didn't have much to do in terms of shots saved or commanding the box from a barrage of corners (that didn't get cleared from 1st or 2nd men), his distribution/clearing on multiple times could have led to a goal if he was unlucky & or our defenders didn't get back to clean up & stifle City's attackers. He clearly missed placed clearances several times which fell way short of the mark. To be far is not like him at all, as that part of his game has been pretty solid since he's been a gunner. All players are allowed to under perform at times here & there, although It would've been so hard to have to endure another gifted goal to city on their turf again. Luckily for us it didn't cost us a goal in the end. All I'm saying is 8 is a bit much.

Raya 6 at most. His distribution was poor creating dangerous situations. Rice is a monstrous DM but can't give those defence-splitting passes like Partey or Jorginho. Partey's replacement has to be a priority in the next transfer window.

Player ratings was almost spot on but as usual the SAKA fanboyism kills what would have been an otherwise spot on ratings... ARTETA also deserves a 9 or 10 for not getting beat and making the right subs at the right time, something he has often been vilified for..

As a City fan I say Arsenal are incredibly good defensively this season. The first time we fail to score at home since September 2021. We scored 57 games in a row but not this time against a very stout strong stubborn resilient aggressive tenacious defensive display from the Gunners. We only had 1 shot on target and could only pass sideways and backwards.
Has anybody seen Big Steve? He said that he always spoke to AFTV win lose or draw but I've only seen him come over when they win. Must have been busy consoling his big blue shark!

To be honest, besides low block, we actually do high press 1 on 1 occasionally. It shows we are smart and can adapt to different situations. Overall I think is a better team of two, if Trossard manage to pass to Martinelli, we could have won. My only complains is Jesus... The pitch on Anfield also is too slippery with excessive water.
Raya can't be 8. His distribution was atrocious . Troopz on TroopzTV analysis is more spot on , without emotions. He kept a clean sheet and made no mistakes in his handling. I would give him a 7 at best.

Unfortunately we're probably seeing the fall out from having no alternative. Whenever Saka has missed his burst of pace in behind is when he is injured. It was similar in the first half of the season. Thing about him, though, is that he is still productive even when not playing as well as he is capable of.

I think Robbie is unfair to our wingers. Their work was mainly to help the full backs. Without Saka and Jesus, chances are that we would have lost that match. The last time Arsenal went to Etihad, the fullbacks were terrorized and I think Arteta learnt a lesson. The likes of Jack Grealish, Doku and Bernardo silva were hunted down like terrorists by both Saka and Jesus. Jorginho and Decs dealt with KDB and neutralised him to zero. So as we compliment our defense, let's not forget one thing, Saka and Jesus sacrificed their key roles to be part of that defense.

1. Where was KDB!???? There’s a been a lot of disrespect about how we won “without KDB” last time! I want to hear them say something like that again!

3. The only time I ever see Halaand on his backside,weeping on the floor, it’s an Arsenal fixture and GM6 and Saliba are looking over him, their shadows a blanket for the sleeping 💤 Halaand! Next time Pep should send Halaand on holiday against us. What a waste of time for their arrogant fans who expected miracles from him!
4. Arteta outsmarted Pep line for line! We were telepathically ahead of everything they attempted! Remember their ego was bruised and let no one fool you, they came with an intent to exact punishment, but Raya only showed up to take a GOAL kick, or a stray cross, that’s it!
We needed to come out without a loss; we need that confidence it brings for the run in. All the remaining games are not going to bring this level of punishment and bombardment like City did. We could have easily won the game against City.
CL games coming, we needed the mentality this game gave us; that we can cope with any team after we got 4/6 points from the world champions!

I think Raya and Kiwior is generous! We got the clean sheet because we defended as a unit however, Raya first half his distribution was awful and Kiwior was being spun. Lucky the ref kept his card in his pockets as that’s what bailed them out of errors. But great draw and confident building to the next 8 games in april

I know we lose Elneny and Jorginho and likely cut our losses with Partey come summer. But after City game and the glaring lack of pace to stretch a defense when Martinelli doesn't play, it is just as pivotal to sign an attacker with that pace who can preferably play either wing
