You know some reason Hitman 2 Silent Assassin is twice as longer then Codename 47, Contracts and Blood Money combined before Absolution or the 2016 episodic game. Which is probably the main reason why many hitman fans like Silent Assassin better then the other trilogy's and in which case it's also worth playing or at least worth replaying.
It's because, while the levels are short when you know what to do, they are quite difficult and time consuming when you don't. You could spend hours on a single level trying to figure out the right moves at the right time. The overly paranoid AI made it not one bit easier. Yet it had the sweet spot necessary to encourage you to continue trying to play stealthy. The later games take a shorter time despite more content, because guards are pictured more realistic and thus lax - They don't immediately whack you for looking their way for a few seconds. They give you fair warning when you enter the wrong place, give you more leeway to get away with derpy tactics like gravity and item manipulation and they telegraph their behavior better. Those games also have more tools to distract guards, silently eliminate their tools to catch you (such as security cameras) and disguises work better while there is also just so many more of them around to use. Codename 47 on the other hand was shorter, because the stealth system was absolutely broken (read: non-functional) so you ended up playing a shooter most of the time and just gave up on the sneaky beaky gameplay style. And as a shooter, it's a damn short game, especially if you're trained in Third-Person Shooters. I don't even get why they had a disguise system in that game. It seemingly only really works for a handful of levels.
@@Mayhzon The stealth system is not broken, you need to know how it works. It is really strict and both your disguise + visible weapon loadout need to match the AI's for it to work in most levels.
@@rubenwelten7300 Doesn't change the fact that it immediately breaks on the tiniest hiccup. Maybe that's part of the intended design, but going in without a guide you get almost zero indication (ingame!) beyond the first few levels how to approach it. Whichever it is - The first one is not a full stealth game in my book, it's an action mission oriented game with a few stealth segments, while all the games thereafter can be completed all stealth or all loud or mixed depending on your approach and desire.

This is wrong. In fact, there's just a certain threshold of transgressions you can commit. This means that, for instance, you can receive an alert or have a non-target kill (as long as it's not an innocent, innocents and police are no-go) as long as everything else goes flawless.
