Just about to get a 4k 42" LG screen, wanted to see if my 1070 would manage it, IT CAN , thanks a lot for this, awesome... Also now I know what games to get for it! A lot of these i missed somehow!
The GTX 1070 is definitely a 4K capable card, but similar to the GTX 1080 it can't guarantee a solid 60fps for every game at ultra @ 4K, will need to lower some games to high or medium. Definitely a viable budget option to enjoy some 4K content, also very good for VR and editing 4K video.
@plutø I've been building/fixing computers for over 7 years. Let me know a few things you are unsure of, then I'll know more the level you're at and the best tips to give man. 👌
@plutø Just some starting tips... #1. NEVER buy a used power supply. ALWAYS buy new and get 80+ certifications. It's the worst feeling building a $700 PC to have it destroyed by saving $20 on a used, faulty power supply. Everything else can be bought used but not the PSU. #2. If buying used, especially graphics cards and processors, pay via cash in person or PayPal, NEVER do bank transfer. #3. If buying used, ask for the seller to demonstrate the GPU/CPU running a benchmark (Unigene Heaven) to prove it works. #4. Whether the GPU is used or new, if it comes with an anti static plastic bag, NEVER put Hardware on the outside of the bag. The inside is designed to keep the GPU safe, but the outside sends static electricity away from the bag; into the GPU if laid on top of the bag. Same with motherboards. #5. When putting the parts together, always touch the case before handling bare PC components (CPU especially) as it grounds you and discharges any static electricity. #6. This is crucial... Before building a PC, bless it with a *DAB* 👌😅😎👍
@plutø Can't go wrong with that monitor, but an identical or better monitor, for cheaper, is the Gigabyte M27Q. It's the panel I use and it's a great one at that. Best value monitor out there. With the RTX 3070, which brand is it? If it's a Founder's Edition straight from NVIDIA, you will need an 8-12pin power adapter. If it's an MSI/EVGA/ASUS RTX 3070, two 8 pins will suffice. Get a PSU with 800watts or more, and either... 80+ 80+ bronze 80+ silver 80+ gold ...any of those certifications will be good.
@@Jcoxy2k10 Maybe you misunderstood. I've been doing 2160p on my card since launch. Every once in a while I'd drop to 1600p just to get the higher/more consistent frame rate. Certain games do 4K better than others.
@@noua it’s alright, don’t have it go past 120 though. Things get super washed out and blurry at 144. If you stay around or below 120 it’s alright and does the job

@plutø For 1440p, solid 60fps, you will need to turn settings down to a mixture of high and medium settings, for modern games.

Damn, I just bought a 2560x1440p monitor and wanted to know how my Strix 1070 OC would handle it. Guess I don't have to worry at all.
Same hahaha
Well it´s even better than the PS4 Pro so yes its capable to play 4K
GTA 5 4K only high settings?
Try ultra )=)
In games like Halo infinite and a 4k tv the temperature reached 93° only on the menu screen help
runs great on gta but red dead is better with max settings, 1080p and still getting sub 40 fps with a i5 9400f.
Really? this benchmark is for testing gtx 1070 to 4k!! obviously is better 1080 max settings!! but that's not the point here!!!!!
Ryoko Kagami Okay cool but did he ask!!!!!! No I don’t think so!!!!!!
@@ryokokagami7541 My monitor is 4k so 4k medium-high would be better than 1080p ultra for me :p

Interesting, maybe 1080p 15" and 4k 43"?
How many fps you are?
@@Gienek_CPU 4k medium-high gets me like 29-30 fps on rdr2 but other games on 4k medim-high gets me at least 45 fps
I’ve been using my 1070 for 4K since day one! Most of the time I’ll lower the res to 1600p though.
Thats not 4k then bud, its not even checkerboard equiv. Still good card for its age.

Even my GT1030 does 4K30 for some old titles like Star Ocean: The Last Hope in lowest settings. GTX 1070 will be a lot better for many games.
Can I do qhd at 120hrz? Or can this only do 60hrz?
