A government is not an overlord, a government come from within and among the people… they are a reflection of the general mind state of the people in a nation. When you hear stories of what happens in regular Nigerian society, you realize that the average Nigerian will do worse if given the same opportunity of absolute power…
This is not an excuse for the terrible behavior of the government but I think the only way Nigerian can become better is by having an overhaul in our thought process and our general love and regard for ourselves as a nation which is close to none existent… selfishness and greed run rampant in our society and if we can’t change that mindset we will continue in this rot…

I can see where you are coming from but does this mean other people from other nations are born with a different kind of brain from Nigerians? Isn't it more likely that a people learn to live by the culture of the land they are born into? The law and order is what civilizes a society. You can't expect people to be anything but what the nation makes them. I have seen greed in every other society and culture, it is the upholding of the rule of law that makes a people civil. What you are discribing is a symptom not a cause.

The truth is this.. we as a country are not ready for democracy and this is why there is no level of accountability within the political system. Everyone in Nigeria thinks only about themselves and not the country.. the only reason why the politicians are able to do what they are doing is because they aren’t any different from the people they lead.. if we demand accountability then the politicians will have no choice but to be accountable. We need an alternate system of government. We are not ready for democracy

This is why we need to do what Kenya, did. With end sars, the youth were on the right track, but it’s like our spirit just got broken after that (with reason). But, we cannot backdown. All change was gotten through sacrifice, and standing up to the oppressor. It’s really becoming too much. Look at them with their big stomachs’ whilst millions of Nigerians’ starve.

I've long argued those who afforded leaving the shores of Africa 10, 20, 30 years ago, made the best call of their life and generation!!
Funnily, I've equally argued my biggest fear is not even remotely close to all these problems you've highlighted.
Hmm, am 28 today, most of those who are slightly older than me and those below my age have not benefited from this nation at all!!! No sense of allegiance!! No sense of belonging!!!
I fear and worry for the chaos my generation will wreak on this country when given the platform knowing fully they've gotten nothing back from Nigeria.😭😭

But the most frustrating aspect is how much Nigeria are having to take and why we are still silent and not doing anything huge till now!

Jude! This one hit hard and I’m truly concerned for you wondering if you’re an Ogunlesi or a Hundeyin. When one reports as you do with the kind of audience you have, they will come for you. First by offering you a juicy post (of course that’ll be the last we ever hear the truth from you). If you don’t play along, you will be made a pariah and possibly a fugitive. So best to decide who you are now - an Ogunlesi or a Hundeyin.
No offense intended but neither Ogunlesi nor Hundeyin are saints. Just two young reporters who favored reporting on Nigeria’s political scene and both took completely different paths to fame.
So the choice is yours really. All the best deciding.
