Fatah Makkah, or the Conquest of Makkah, refers to a pivotal event in Islamic history that took place in 630 CE. It marks the peaceful takeover of the city of Makkah by the Prophet Muhammad and his followers, effectively ending years of conflict between the early Muslims and the Quraysh tribe, which had previously opposed them.
After years of escalating tensions and a treaty that had been violated by the Quraysh, the Prophet Muhammad gathered a large force of Muslims, estimated at around 10,000 people, and marched towards Makkah. The Quraysh, realizing their position was untenable, chose not to engage in battle, and Makkah was surrendered without significant fighting.
