Rip a true musical legend. I've seen him in so many different forms. I'm gutted I'll never see him again. Perfect gigs getting really wasted melting through the floor to the band and his gravelly tones. Sorely missed but thank you so much sir for the music the memories and for being with my in dark times. Fucking love you man 💔💔
I've often returned to these videos in time of melancholy or just needing to feel connected to my pain as a way of healing. It's so sad to hear of Lanegan's passing today. He was truly a beacon of light for many. 🕊️😔💔
I so completely understand and concur. Got me through a lot of unbearable life to hear the truth of another Human voicing these same feelings. Keep your chin up my friend.
Amazing singer. Many singers sound a lot different live, but never Lanegan. He is just as awesome. It must be easy to be his producer, he nails it every time.
I am the wolf Without a pack Banished so long ago I've survived On another’s kill And on my shadow home All I've learned is that poison will sting No one remembers the names of martyrs or kings No one remembers much of anything That came this way before I am the wolf Combing the beach Too hungry to shy away The carcass of a leviathan Sways gently on the waves I hope this shelter is enough to keep me warm Upstairs the heaven's giving birth to winter's storm But I've been dying since the day I was born That much I know is true I am the wolf High, wild and free A picture on a shelf I burn this house Down to the ashes A law unto myself All I've learned is that poison will sting No one remembers the names of martyrs or kings No one remembers much of anything That came this way before That came this way before I am the wolf I am the wolf I am the wolf
Here two wolves listening to this marvelous and mesmerizing performance. Loving each other and loving our forever friend Mr Mark Lanegan. Precious talent. Inspiring moments. Always with us dear Dark Mark 🐺🐺🖤🔥
I saw him in Amager Bio, Denmark in 2015, when Phantom Radio had been released. After the concert he was signing autographs and I got to tell him that “I am the Wolf” is my favourite song of the album. To me, he is one of the greatest and I have two albums signed by him, I am so thankful for that.
I have had the privilige to see Mr Lanegan three times live (in Gothenburg). I will miss him, just like I miss Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley and Chris Cornell. 💔 PS. I remember I got disappointed on this track on the actual album, because this version of this song is just fcking mindblowingly perfect. 🥰
Grande Mark Lanegan... tuve la fortuna de conocerte en Persona y ver tus 5 presentaciones en Chile. Descansa en paz . Te extrañaremos pero jamas te olvidaremos.
A couple of years ago I heard this song and since then I always come to this channel to listen to it. Only a few months ago I learned of the death of this man but I want to make it clear that as long as his music is heard, death will never reach him.
A voice so big it would split a normal man in half. RIP Mark, and thank you for sharing your gift with us in so many different ways, across so many different genres and styles of music.
First heard Mark sing in 1992. Wow!! In a class by himself. Saw Screaming Trees live I think in 93 or 94 in Long Beach with Rage against machine. Close to stage, standing room only. They rocked. Have almost all his albums. Rip bro.
Still difficult to articulate how this man has affected my musical journey but I'm holding on to the fact that he was so prolific. We will always have his massive body of work and for that I'm grateful. RIP Mark.
Such a haunting poet and OH that voice...like no other. The accompanying guitar work is always phenomenal as well. looking forward to seeing him this August!
The rainy basement nursery of so called grunge. Not many candles left..just enough to see this bluesman home..carried by the hands that work for blackened hopes..m.ferried to the safety of invisible ports. The blur of his midnight guitar just enough of a.sound to keep moving our refugee hearts. The rumble of his songs furrow.the ground where his pains began and his survival spells start..that land was hard.. his blade soft enough to not.shatter in the rocks.. cutting the road we stumble on sounds leading us through the dark. I forgot you too would.one day die. Anytime before me would feel too soon..I wasnt ready.. no real way to gjve you the thanks you deserve..ill see you later.
The first song that I came back to after hearing about Mark's passing
RIP legend
Same here
Not alone. Glass of red in hand. Cannot believe it tonight.
Me too, I am speechless
Feel you man, it's so sad.
Mine was the 4AD performance. Broke me good.

I've often returned to these videos in time of melancholy or just needing to feel connected to my pain as a way of healing. It's so sad to hear of Lanegan's passing today. He was truly a beacon of light for many. 🕊️😔💔
Every song Lanegan does sounds like a eulogy. I'm fine with that.
Well...
With how much loss Mark went through, they may all be eulogies. RIP man. This is a voice that I hope will echo on forever.
Well said Christopher.
Believe he wrote Bourdains eulogy.
Just heard the heartbreaking news. His music carried me through so much hardship.. like medicine. A true Artist and Legend forever. RIP Mark.🖤
His music gives me some serenity whilst my life crumbles around me during this fuckry we live in, God thank you for keeping this one around 🙏
Oh please.....couldn't bear another loss.
Amen bro
I so completely understand and concur. Got me through a lot of unbearable life to hear the truth of another Human voicing these same feelings. Keep your chin up my friend.
RIP… Always the wolf
I'm so sad :(
Love staring out into the misty rainy London night over the canal and listening to this tune. Just beautiful 😍

Agreed.
Dude, these guitarists! quality stuff there.
he always has top-notch musicians, like for real.
He's so good why would he settle for sub par musicianship
What an amazingly power and beautiful performance. It hits the soul. RIP Mark, truly one of the greats.
Mark lanegan is what my heart would sound like if I still had it.
AHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
Selkie Lee то же самое
Grey would be the colour if i had a heart
That is deep.
Mark will definitely be missed. And these two Masters on SGs are killing it.
Might be the Greatest tones I've heard, might have to get an SG just because of this song
Goodbye Mark, we’ll always love you ♥️
Amazing singer. Many singers sound a lot different live, but never Lanegan. He is just as awesome. It must be easy to be his producer, he nails it every time.
I am the wolf
Without a pack
Banished so long ago
I've survived
On another’s kill
And on my shadow home
All I've learned is that poison will sting
No one remembers the names of martyrs or kings
No one remembers much of anything
That came this way before
I am the wolf
Combing the beach
Too hungry to shy away
The carcass of a leviathan
Sways gently on the waves
I hope this shelter is enough to keep me warm
Upstairs the heaven's giving birth to winter's storm
But I've been dying since the day I was born
That much I know is true
I am the wolf
High, wild and free
A picture on a shelf
I burn this house
Down to the ashes
A law unto myself
All I've learned is that poison will sting
No one remembers the names of martyrs or kings
No one remembers much of anything
That came this way before
That came this way before
I am the wolf
I am the wolf
I am the wolf
I think it's "on my shadow form" instead of "shadow home" but both sound good
@@nonpolygon I think the correct is "...and known my shadow form".
🖤
Listening to this awesome tune after hearing the sad sad news. God's speed Mr Lanegan 👏
Oh my...heavy heart...RIP legend...a moment in our life..forever in our hearts..💗💗🙏
I get goosebumps every time I hear this. Magical! Lanegan is truly special.

Well, what’d he say when you said that? What’s crazy is he was given the song from a friend.
Rest in peace mr. Lanegan 🖤 Love you forever
