Finding this really useful, thanks for sharing. Helping a girl out. Travelling in 3 months alone, so nervous!

Don't worry, Southeast / East Asia is perfectly safe for female solo travelers. You can walk around anywhere at 3AM in big cities in Asia and you'll see other Western solo female travellers doing the same. It's a different society over there. Even though it can look chaotic and intimidating, you'll understand what I'm describing once you're there and you'll feel perfectly comfortable. Anywhere in the Americas or Europe is far more dangerous for you to travel alone compared to Southeast Asia.

The risks of going to London (or anywhere in the Western world) as a female solo traveller are far greater than traveling to anywhere in Southeast or East Asia. There is virtually zero violent crime in Asia. Statistically you're at far greater risk just being around other Westerners anywhere in the world vs being around Asians. Try doing the same activities in Chicago, Caracas, Medellín, Cape Town, Mumbai and even South London, suburban Paris, Naples etc by yourself as a solo female traveller then you'll really understand what real danger feels like. In Asia you have none of those worries so it's not even something you have to be brave for. It's actually the total opposite.
