    If you ever watched Roger Federer closely on the serve, you saw that he did not hit the fastest serves and yet his serves were incredibly effective.
    How did he do that?

    Roger tended to hit topspin serves to all locations even wide in the deuce court. That alone resulted in making his serve hard to read as well as dropping the speed a bit.
