Spontaneous motion from droplets!

This short video shows how to use a spotlight, food coloring, and distilled water to make water beads chase each other all over a microscope slide.
I developed this set of procedures over the course of two years with the help of Dr. Jason Gleghorn (Gleghorn Lab) and several cohorts of my own students.
