MHOTRS Utilization Review (UR) Webinar

Maintaining a strong Utilization Review process is essential to ensure that programs and services are in compliance with regulations, services are being delivered efficiently and effectively, and individuals are receiving appropriate treatment.
MCTAC in partnership with the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) hosted a new webinar on Utilization Review (UR).
In this webinar, OMH clarified UR changes made in 2023, which was followed by MCTAC highlighting the concept of medical necessity, the importance of documentation in the UR process, how discharge planning relates to UR, and review of types and best practices in Utilization Review.
