These people have their stories, myths, poetry, religions, laws, etc. We also know that the Arabs had "great memories" - as we're often told by our Muslim friends since they could perfectly memorize the Quran... My point is that Muhammad was surround by oral cultures and would have heard the stories of the Jews and Christians that he incorporated into the Quran. A good example of this are the non-canonical Christian stories found in the apocryphal gospels, which were popular in Arabia as these heretical sects were not very welcomed in the orthodox Byzantine Empire. So, we have stories in the Quran from texts like the Arabic Infancy Gospels, the Protoevengelium of James, etc. These were circulated orally and are found in the Quran, along with other legends.

@@gregnietsky Just a few examples: Fact: The old Testament Books like the 5 Books of Moses, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Zechariah, Isaiah, Micah, Maleachi, Daniel, the Psalms etc were all written atleast 200 years BC. 1. As the old Testament was written, the nations had their own gods. And at this time, it was prophecied in the Bible, that the Messiah will come and then people from all around the world will turn to the God of Israel. And that is exactly what happened. Abd it did not happen because Israel conquered the world and became a great empire, but because of the preaching about a Jew on a Cross that rose from the death, bringing salvation and eternal life. 2. The same old Testament teaches, that the Israelites will be exiled from their holy land for a very long time, and the rebuilt tempel in Jerusalem will get destroyed after the Messiah came. And then, after a long exile, they will go back to their holy land. All of that happened even far more detailed as I described it here. 2. In Ezekiel 9,4-6 it says, that God will bring judgement upon Jerusalem. And all those who dont come under the judgement get a mark on their foreheads. This mark has the same function as the blood of the lamb on the doorframes in egypt. In the hebrew, the mark is a "tav", which is a letter. And in the time as the book of ezekiel was written, the isrealites had a different alphabet than today, the proto-hebrew alphabet. In this alphabet the letter tav is a cross. So God ordered those who will be saved getting marked with a cross on their foreheads, similar in function to the blood of the lamb in egypt. 3. The foreshadowing is a biblical method. Thats already attested in the old Testament itself. For example, Moses points to a later prophet, a prophet "like Moses". Some early biblical examples: God divided the water (Gen 1,6-7) and then He brought Adam to the Garden of Eden, the Paradise (Gen 2,8). Thats already foreshadowing the exodus, where the sea gets divided and the Israelites get brought to the holy land. In connection with the new Testament: *- God formed Adam of untouched earth* (Gen 2,5) *and breathed the breath of life into him* (Gen 2,7). *Jesus was born from an untouched woman* (Mt 1,23) *conceived by the holy Spirit* (Mt 1,18). *- The fruit of the tree of life, in the garden of Eden, gives eternal life* (Gen 3,22) *and was guarded by two Cherubims* (Gen 3,24). *Jesus is the fruit* (Lk 1,41-42) *that was hanged on a tree* (Acts 5,30) *and whoever will eat His flesh, will get eternal life* (John 6,54). *He was laid in a garden* (John 19,41) *and the garden was guarded by two Angels* (John 20,11-12). The foreshadowing specific in relation to the Messiah in the old Testament we can see for example here: *Zechariah 3,8-9* 8 “‘Listen, *High Priest Joshua,* you and your associates seated before you, who are men *symbolic of things to come:* I am going to bring *my servant, the Branch.* 9 See, the stone I have set in front of Joshua! So, we have stories in the Quran from texts like the Arabic Infancy Gospels, the Protoevengelium of James, etc. These were circulated orally and are found in the Quran, along with other legends.

Just a few examples:
Fact: The old Testament Books like the 5 Books of Moses, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Zechariah, Isaiah, Micah, Maleachi, Daniel, the Psalms etc were all written atleast 200 years BC.
1. As the old Testament was written, the nations had their own gods. And at this time, it was prophecied in the Bible, that the Messiah will come and then people from all around the world will turn to the God of Israel. And that is exactly what happened.
Abd it did not happen because Israel conquered the world and became a great empire, but because of the preaching about a Jew on a Cross that rose from the death, bringing salvation and eternal life.
2. The same old Testament teaches, that the Israelites will be exiled from their holy land for a very long time, and the rebuilt tempel in Jerusalem will get destroyed after the Messiah came. And then, after a long exile, they will go back to their holy land. All of that happened even far more detailed as I described it here.
2. In Ezekiel 9,4-6 it says, that God will bring judgement upon Jerusalem. And all those who dont come under the judgement get a mark on their foreheads. This mark has the same function as the blood of the lamb on the doorframes in egypt. In the hebrew, the mark is a "tav", which is a letter. And in the time as the book of ezekiel was written, the isrealites had a different alphabet than today, the proto-hebrew alphabet. In this alphabet the letter tav is a cross. So God ordered those who will be saved getting marked with a cross on their foreheads, similar in function to the blood of the lamb in egypt.
3. The foreshadowing is a biblical method. Thats already attested in the old Testament itself. For example, Moses points to a later prophet, a prophet "like Moses".
Some early biblical examples:
God divided the water (Gen 1,6-7) and then He brought Adam to the Garden of Eden, the Paradise (Gen 2,8). Thats already foreshadowing the exodus, where the sea gets divided and the Israelites get brought to the holy land.
In connection with the new Testament:
*- God formed Adam of untouched earth* (Gen 2,5) *and breathed the breath of life into him* (Gen 2,7). *Jesus was born from an untouched woman* (Mt 1,23) *conceived by the holy Spirit* (Mt 1,18).
*- The fruit of the tree of life, in the garden of Eden, gives eternal life* (Gen 3,22) *and was guarded by two Cherubims* (Gen 3,24).
*Jesus is the fruit* (Lk 1,41-42) *that was hanged on a tree* (Acts 5,30) *and whoever will eat His flesh, will get eternal life* (John 6,54). *He was laid in a garden* (John 19,41) *and the garden was guarded by two Angels* (John 20,11-12).
The foreshadowing specific in relation to the Messiah in the old Testament we can see for example here:

8 “‘Listen, *High Priest Joshua,* you and your associates seated before you, who are men *symbolic of things to come:* I am going to bring *my servant, the Branch.*

- Joshua is the hebrew name of Jesus
- God said, He will use the highpriest "Jesus" as a sign/foreshadow of something that will come in the future
- what will come in the future is His servant "the branch", and what will happen is, that God will remove the sin of this land in one single day
"The Branch" is a messianic title:
*Jer. 23,5-6*
5 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, *that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch,* and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby *he shall be called, The Lord Our Righteousness.*
*Isaiah 11,1/10*
*1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:*

*10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.*
The root of Jesse refers to the line of David:

And Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David.
The Branch will come and remove the sin in one single day and He will become our righteousness:

2 He grew up before him *like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground.* He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.

*Snakes do symbolize sins* (Gen 3), *and sins lead to death* (Ez 18,4). *We need Jesus, who took our sins (serpent) upon Himself on the cross (pole), that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life* (John 3,16).

*God ordered Abraham to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice and He calls Isaac the "only Son"* (Gen 22,2) *despite the fact that Abraham had another Son, Ishmael.*

*Abraham took his son Isaac and laid the wood upon him* (Gen 22,6), *and Isaac carried the wood on the mount in the land of Moriah* (Gen 22,2), *and then Isaac was laid upon the wood to get sacrificed* (Gen 22,9).

*Isaac asked his father: "where is the lamb for a burnt offering?" And Abraham said: "My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering."* (Gen 22,7-8)
*Then after God stopped Abraham before he sacrificed his son, God gave a ram and they sacrificed the ram instead of Isaac* (Gen 22,13).
*Jesus is the lamb of God* (John 1,29), *that was given by God as a sacrifice. Jesus laid down His life and took the punishment we deserve, in our place. He died instead of us, so that we can have the eternal life* (John 3,16).
*The ram was caught in a thicket by his horns* (Gen 22,13).
*They platted a crown of thorns and put it upon the head of Jesus* (Mt 27,29).
*Abraham called the place "Jehovahjireh", that is, "The Lord will provide"* (Gen 22,14). *Abraham acknowledges he was enacting a prophecy of something God Himself would provide in the future. The story tells us what will be provided: the only son.*

Why do muslims act like Arabia was isolated from the rest of the world? The middle east is largely bilingual, due to the trade routes, invasions, etc. Even if there was no Arabic translation of the NT, why would that stop the stories from circulating?
