    Great video starsky !! Remember this & the fairlight cmi back in the 80’s. They cost a fortune back then. Think trevor horn & art of noise had one these in their studio 🎶

    REGEN is more than just a reedition of a legendary super expensive synth from the 80's. It's much more than that, it has a bunch of new things a synclavier 2 didnt have. I think REGEN is more a new generator by synclavier with they're own architecture, sound engines and culture. That Synclavier edge to the sound is still resulting from cameron jones's prgraming/computing techniques, and the sound of REGEN is very suited to what electronic music producers and beatmakers might be looking for in 2024. Regen is very actual to not say futuristic, it's fits our times perefctly, and i think the beatmakers community missed the info, because this the is a jewel for a beatmaker, anyone disapointed by what mpc's have became, might be really interested into try regen out...

    Nice presentation, thanks! A bit pricey, yet I suppose the technology is in there as expected. A+

    I sold my Synclavier II to "The Who" and wish i had kept it. One thing i would say is, it looked as good as it sounded. This looks like a speak and spell with a Iphone 6 in it.

      That’s my biggest disappointment with the Regen. As a Fairlight guy I’d love to own a Synclavier but I’m not interested in owning another complex system from the 80s. I appreciate that the sound is absolutely there with the Regen but was really hoping the the physical design and looks would be centered on a modern take of the Synclavier keyboard. As it stands, this design is just not compelling to me and I don’t see that it offers much over simply using the Arturia software.

      @@EstuaryMists I sold both of my Fairlights because they were becoming old and unreliable. PPl think a APP will sound identical but the hard ware is part of its sound. DA AD converters, Im using arturia now and I like the stability LOL. Even tho i did the beta testing for Fairlights APP

    Remind me a bit about V.A.S.T. and I definitely think Kurzweil would benefit from looking at the user interface here, we could use some more knobs and buttons for the programming of V.A.S.T. and maybe this is a good start!

    It would be awesome if they could make a keyboard version in vein of Synclavier 2 or 3😊😊😊😊

      ihave beeen thinking of designing a hardware controler you could stick the unit in, but with the vesa stand option witch uis really usefull, and a nice modern controler with 61 keys and knobs and switches you'r really well installed... and the lights color sceem of arturia's black controlers fit pretty well with the regen... the way he's using it here just laying behing the keyboard witch is already thick, is really not confortable, because you'de have to bend over stuff all the time, but with a nice vesa stand, man it's really great and confortable to play and do the sound design...

    i want one but whats your feeling on the slider better then a encoder nob or is it one of them things that breaks after 6 months but i like it me and its not badly priced either still a tad steep these days its a lot of money 2 grand but its a 9/10 of me

    • @baddriddimworkshop
      @baddriddimworkshop 2 месяца назад

      no that slider is optical it's better than anything mechanical regarding durability. i'm thinking of getting a "midi fighter twister" to use with the regen to add more control than just the midi kb's silders and knobs, but sill the workflow is really nice when you get used to it even with no external control...

      @@baddriddimworkshop right so its not one of them daft pressure things that breaks first and thus rendering the synth useless ive had one or two synths where the most used part is also the first part to go and thus rendering the synth useless ahem wavestate on that on because they used the worst cheapest encoder nob they could find for that and they claim theres not an issue with the nob and they used it on the monolog and yeah it might be fine on the monolog but the wavestate nob is doign 300 times the amount of work anyway i digress but as logn as its not like that then fair enough still tad expensive for me really and they need to sort out the pricing on these things like roland made the gaia 2 and to be fair it is a decent synth and i like it but then its 850 quid on a synth thats worth 500 quid really so roland sunk their own ship there they'll sell a few not as many as they need and nowhere near as many as theyd like the future at the moment is looking like them mini devices in a suit case and everything self contained as an all in one unit and im surprised no ones done that yeat where ya can plug in ya mini devices and have a self contained studio in a case

    Kind of funny how every single video on the Synclavier has to mention how incredibly expensive it was. No one can resist. I have a Casio CZ I would be happy to sell for $100,000 since crazy high prices are so impressive to some. 😅
