Honestly, when I see replay of normal people attacking with Fireball, they throw it randomly in the middle of an attack. The hit rates with it are probably lower since it's not a passive boost like the other warden equipments that guarantee some value.
With so much dedicated spells, careful pathing, and good aiming that even pros can mess up, i dont think fireball deserves a nerf. Even simple proper spacing on base building makes it difficult for fireballs to land or reduces fireball value. On the other hand, spirit walks(electro boots) can be used by anyone as long as they know what they're doing.

Both of these attacks are spell intensive, require proper timing, and can end up in a 2 star if you miss the spell timing. A couple months a go every other pro war had a dozen fireball into Switches attacks which ended up in constant 3 stars and nobody wanted a nerf then

Since the release of equipment this game got a really weird turn, and th17 is the worse so far. Air defenses doesn't matter anymore, base building is flat, too many strong strategy that can pull on almost every base, strategies are limited on "funnel and big push of troops" i feel like th9 to th11 the game was at its peak. Now there are too many strong defenses that no metter what u do, there are no really weak point, too many defenses heroes. It's hard to explain but I'm saying the game lost its "simple complexity" and it went to a "fake complexity". The game was fun when bases were almost impossible to be three starred, where u had to grind a base figuring out what was actually working and the strategies to use. Now at th17 every war is a draw with full map closed, and everyone use the same attack. We lost in cwl against the first clan in the ranking in cwl champion 1, they got 45 stars on us and they were all using the same dragons strategy, exactly the same army, maybe sometimes using a machine instead of another

I dunno if u are a og player, but when i used to play 2015 there were people that always spam the same strategy that were called spammers/noobs, and they hardly ever pulled a 3 stars, and people who used to make a plan for each base, it was an actual plan, where would create an army from scratch, now literally people use only one attack for a whole year and there is no planning in war, and the difference between now and the past is that it wouldn't work in the past, now it does too well, maybe for u it's ok, for me it's weird that in cwl champ 1 15 people have used against us one single army, dragons and they perfected the war. I'm not saying that is wrong, I'm saying that in my view coc has changed in a bad way where strategy and plan are not as accurate as they were once. Now it's really just being able to funnel and then spamming troops.
All equipment felt genuinely balanced before electro boots ruined it. Even clone blimp that was supposed to wreck havoc in bombless th 17 is not used anymore, that's how much influence electro boots had.
while yes the electro boots are definitely one of, if not the best equipment we've seen rn, imo it was never balanced ever since the giant gauntlet you practically couldn't run a king without gauntlet at it's prime, it not only could capitalize on root riders opening walls but straight up snipe entire compartments from the splash of hitting a wall/building it did lose it's spot on air spam to the vamp + spiky ball because it was good for funneling, but overall practically every other attack used the same gauntlet + rage until it was finally nerfed
Blaming equipments are endless circle, some equipments are broken the fact they need nerf common equipments in the first release. Nothing balance as you says, once one equipment release it's either broken or trash.
We appreciate every pro player who messes up a fireball attack to help convince supercell to not nerf it for the rest of us lol😂
