That jacket looks so good on you! Really classy and such a great colour. The backpack blows my mind! I love that choice of colours - it really pops. I am always impressed by how much you get done in a week!
Adam, I love your channel and notice you sew for hours on end. I am 74 and have sewed for so many of those years. I have learned (the hard way) that when I work on a fiddly challenging project whether it be quilt, dress, craft, whatever; when I begin to make stupid mistakes, and not making best choices following patterns--STOP. You need to leave the sewing room and project for a period of time, go eat lunch, breakfast, or. walk around the block, or take a nap, go to bed wake up refreshed. When you pick the project back up, 99% of the time you will fly right through the and until completion without mistakes. So many late hours had been spent on finishing something only to see you wish you would have done this or that and know you can do better. After I decided to try this and stop and come back, my skill level flew from beginner to couture sewing (that I now have accomplished) happened overnight! You have wonderful insight and technique and know you have not yet reach your full potential, and you are great now.
Thank you Renee, I will deffo take that on board, I have started walking away from projects if they start becoming not fun. I have to remember that not every project needs to be started and finished in one sitting, thanks for stopping by again as always ☺️
The jacket is stunning! The backpack is on another level! Love all the goodies that came into your sewing room! Always lovely spending time with you! Happy sewing!
Amazing job on your jacket and backpack Adam 👌💞... I love the Ilford too and have one but in a more lightweight fabric, but now I've seen your cord one, I might have a go 😉😁. Very funny at the end 🍕😂✊😘
That ilfod is absolutely beautiful Adam! I’ve also got a blue corduroy set aside for the ilford - so many plans as per usual! Hope you have had a great day showing off your Ilford at K&S show x
I cannot believe that there were processes on that Backpack that actually had you stumped…for a second maybe 😂. The jacket is truly awesome and will be very much admired by anyone you come across at the show, I can’t wait to see some footage from that. That was quite a stock haul you had, lots of lovely patterns there and of course you need every colour of mesh 😉. Loving the out take with the party hat 🥳 hope that stays in the sew along 😂. Have an amazing time at the show. 😊
Thanks Carole, it was hilarious, I can’t wait for the final edit of the video, I may have to watch it on my tv as we had such a giggle lol have a fab weekend, I’ll keep you all posted tomorrow what’s going on x
The jacket and bag you made are awesome! I enjoy changing up patterns slightly to fit my needs better. Being able to customize items is so much fun! Thank you for sharing your creations, you do amazing work!!!
Love the jacket and the backpack, I’ve also got the Out and About pattern but haven’t made it because I thought I’d really struggle, however yours is so amazing I really need to bite the bullet and make one! It was so lovely meeting you yesterday and your catwalk appearance was great, all the boys were! 😊❤️
Thanks Helen, it was so nice to meet you too! Deffo have a go, it makes a super handy backpack 😂 the video Tamlyn took of the catwalk, will never fail to amuse me with your chuckle in the background, absolute comedy gold! ☺️
I love your makes and that you completed them for the knitting and stitching show! I have been waiting to see that Ilford and it did not disappoint. We had a little 'false fall' last week where the weather got cool enough for me to sort out the attic space some. I will be doing a sewing room tour soon too. My room is starting to come together and it is amazing how much more efficient it is. Our cool weather left and Charlie and I are headed to the beach today for a bit of beach time.
Oooh look forward to seeing the new room all setup! Have a fantastic time at the beach! Deffo try out the iflord. It’s a fun make, just be carful of the handsewwjng if it’s the lined version x
@@AdamSews I really do need to practice my hand sewing. My hand sewing is a hot mess and looks like 10 yo Christine sewed it even when I take my time. That tells me I need more practice
@@ChristineSewsALot ooooh, I have to say, English paper peicing has made me such a better hand stitcher, making a small table centre or something would be an easy task and would give you a hand sewing practice project, plus the biggest thing ever, the NEEDLES! oh my gosh, hand needles are if not more important with which brand you choose, the tulip needles are so sharp which makes stitching so much more accurate
You make beautiful stuff Adam I love seeing what you do...and it goes without saying I'm so looking forward to you and Marie getting together looks like i'll be running it through twice lol!! huge love x
Love your Ilford Jacket, the fabric, the colour, the quirky buttons and Tula placket. The Out and About Bag is beautiful, I have the pattern, but haven’t dared starting it yet, thanks for the warning about its ‘tricky ness’. Think I’ll leave it awhile yet though, as I’ve still a Double Zip Gear Bag half made from February, oops! Love all the ByAnnie products - drooling now, lol x and loving your Outro 😅, Susan x
Thanks Susan for stopping by! It’s a great pattern the Ilford, as is the out and about, it’s funny looking back at the bag, I think I will cut two zipper strips for the front pocket next time and extend the projection of the front pocket so it has a strip either side of the zip instead of the zip being sewn straight to the front panel, will eliminate a lot of fuss x
Love, love, love the jacket! And how nice is that bag??! I’ve used Annie’s S&S and it’s pretty wonderful. I think I even have one or two packages of it in my sewing room somewhere. You’re making me want to go back to making bags! Can’t wait to see footage from the Knitting & Stitching Show. Have fun! Xx 🇨🇦💞
Thanks Izzy, I’m super excited, it’s gonna be fun, I’m gonna hunt for Ruan and Tamlyn, Tamlyn may be harbouring some Tula I ordered haha 😂 have a great weekend x
Hi Adam, great vlog . Thank you for sharing your super Ilford jacket and bag. I wonder if you have heard of Debbie Shore she makes bags has a RUclips channel and writes books? I’m sure she has a back pack bag that could be easier for you to make and sell in your shop. I look forward to your next vlog. Happy sewing , take care. 👋🏻🧵🎒
Hi Adam, I saw your picture with the 3 lovely ladies from Yorkshire on Instagram earlier, you look to be having a good time! I thought you might be interested in Debbie Shore’s new book from Search Press titled Backpacks. Take care. 🧵👋🏻🎒
Hi Adam, Thanks for the mention😀 I love your back pack! I want to make one out of an old jacket one day. I enjoyed learning all about the bag making foam. Do you have a link for the one you were showing in the video? I love that you can wash and dry it and it keeps its shape, so cool! Have a great day!
If you search for either ByAnnie soft and stable or Viesline foam you should find a source near you for a good price, most quilt shops sell ByAnnie soft and stable x
I love that corduroy jacket! I have been working on the Tula Nova EPP for quite a while. I'm trying to use OOP fabrics in my first one as i find them for a reasonable price. I want to make another one using Linework and am super excited for Everglow. I think, maybe, Everglow dots and stripes will be really cool with linework. I get super frustrated with the By Annie patterns overall. I love the final looks of them, but geeze I feel like the instructions make it over complicated. In my mind there has to be a better way to get the same results. I really love how your backpack turned out.
I agree, some are really convoluted lol 😂 ooooh everglow tents and spots will look amazing with Linework! What a brilliant idea Amy! I can’t wait for everglow! The oop I just hoard lol I can’t bare to cut it lol 😆
