Asami sings in English in every song LOVEBITES have released bar one, the original version of Bravehearted on their debut EP which the forthcoming one is an innovative take on. Click on the bio for “Unchained” to understand. This videography leans heavily on their debut single from “The LOVEBITES EP” released in 2017. The founding member Miho specifically chose Asami because she was attempting to build a feminine, all female version of band from the NWOBHM of the 80’s. Asami’s whole personality is enthusiastic, light hearted, very emotional and extremely positive. 90% of coming up to 60 songs released to date are uplifting, which blends perfectly with the uplifting energy of twin leads and relentless double kick bass. She describes her voice as just one of five instruments in the band. Words are not designed to fit in the song as an English speaker would. They convey her feelings and she then decides how to add or lose syllables to suit. She speaks English but not fluently. So the fact that she is difficult to understand is because she doesn’t hear her English like we do. Doubtless people must have told her that perhaps, if singing in English she should enunciate in English, but she’s happy singing Famglish. Here is a suggestion that hopefully will show you yet again how versatile LOVEBITES are (to me they are genre neutral) and how artistic Asami is. She wrote and composed the song because she can play piano, but a long time collaborator with the band, Mao Yamamoto arranged it, and no doubt made changes. A Frozen Serenade. In its own way as unique as Swansong, but possibly the band’s most artistic contribution to rock and metal. ruclips.net/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/видео.htmlsi=V3LRPqWPwnjJZpJZ
Asami's casual English may not be fluent, but it's good enough to get around. And it has a better pronunciation by far. For lyrics, she switches to something that I call Asamenglish, she doesn't bother much about pronunciation or intelligibility, because the sound and flow of "her instrument" is much more important. She also uses some vocal and consonant tricks to overcome the language barrier. Obsolete letters filled in just for sound or rhythm. It has become part of the LOVEBITES trademark, I wonder, if the songs would be as good with perfectly spoken English lyrics! My point was, that her casually spoken English in interviews, announcements, etc., is much better.
This song sticks so hard, it's playing constantly on my mind, on repeat. They really figured out a way to blend a catchy hook into the lovebites dynamic instrumental songwriting. The drums and the bass parts have become little moments of anticipation throughout the song with the array of cymbals and double snare beats, really go good with Fami's Bass pops and slaps.
There’s one song in Japanese, but then they put lyrics in English, but well there’s a Japanese version, the name of the song is “Bravehearted”who by the way, was composed by the little big engine Haruna. This track has pretty much everything - a seamless and innovative blend of AOR/heavy rock, speed-power metal, and a bit of thrash thrown in at the breakdown before the solo. At the same time, it's got a catchy hook to make this an awesome LIVE song in the making. "Unchained" is the opening track of the new EP. BTW, Lovebites will drop a second song/MV called "Soul Defender" from this new EP on August 12. In addition, the band will be streaming a free preview of the entire LIVE album "Memorial for the Warrior Souls" on the same day (August 12) at the following time : 🕘9PM JST 🕑2PM CET 🕐1PM GMT 🕗8AM EST 🕔5AM PST
Japanese is totally diferent to western languages. But even are english and spanish indoeuropean languages their roots and structure changes. English are celtic and germanic mainly, spanish are latin, greek and arabic mainly.
Asami's verses can be a bit of a word-salad sometimes, but I think it's cute. Imagine if we tried to sing a fast song in Japanese. It would be a train wreck. 🤣 Nothing but love for this band. Wolfpack for life! 🤘🏼🐺🤘🏼
Great reaction. I think English is somehow like hybrid of Latin and German language family which are related with Roman and Greek. Therefore English and Spanish have similar aspect but Spanish is lot similar to Japanese in a sense of its pronunciation with vowels in each word. Also, the pronunciation of vowels in English is a disaster, it is so chaotic. Spanish is lot easier for Japanese to speak and Spanish people speak Japanese very well.
#LOVEBITES #UNCHAINED LOVEBITES new EP and also a live LP (DVD/Blu-ray/CD) both will be released on August 28. „LOVEBITES EP II“ will contain „Unchained“ and four more new songs and in addition a re-recording of the band’s debut „THE LOVEBITES EP“ for a limited edition. „Memorial of the Warrior Souls“ is the live recording of last year‘s Tokyo concert during the Judgement Day tour. It features 7 live versions of songs from the „Judgement Day“ album including „Soldier stands solitarily“. And of course also the pre-releases „Rising“ and „We are the resurrection“, which was the opening track for this show.
Yesterday, after 18 months, they've released the official live video of the closing song from their previous LP, "Soldier Stands Solitarily" (live 2023) on their RUclips channel (as premiere). This could be the video, that is worth exploring, 195 BPM of Heavy Metal Overdrive... and the 3rd probe taken from the new live album "Memorial For The Warrior Souls".
please react to lovebites greatest song winds of transylvania MV version & set the world on fire live version sir ^.^ thank u so much love your reaction
Good reaction. Great uplifting song by Miyako. Reminds me a bit of one of their first songs “Don’t bite the dust“. All their songs are in English. Only one song is also in Japanese. The only song written by Haruna, Braveharted. Written for her former band Destrose. Thanks for this reaction.
While I have heard of the band, this song seems to be a sonic clone of some of the frantic guitar-based tracks from Band Maid. Personally, I like songs that are a bit more melodic and dynamic. I was trying to determine if the song was entirely in English or just end some phrases (like Band Maid).
This song is not their usual sound but there's a historical context as to why this is the opening track for their new EP. The new EP is called "Lovebites EP II" and it's essentially a sequel to their first ever EP called "The Lovebites EP". As such, the first track on the new EP ("Unchained") is a 'continuation' from the first song of the older EP ("Don't Bite the Dust"). And yes, they sing all of their current catalogue of approximately 60 original songs 100% in English with the exception of one.
@bigfan007 It might interest you to know that Band Maid did not write any of their own recorded music or lyrics before LOVEBITES came into existence. Significant in relations to (as boyzyu comments) this song is an homage to their very first Music Video. LOVEBITES band members have been their own primary song-writers from their beginnings, music, lyrics and arrangements. It is obvious that you are not familiar with LOVEBITES considering that every one of their songs includes "frantic guitar" solos by each guitarist and only a handful of their 60 songs lack an complex, often melodic, guitar-harmony-duet. They are a 'guitar-solo-band' by design, with both guitarists comparable to Kanami in skill level, though Midori is an elite Musician's Institute graduate & Miyako is self-taught on guitar but classically trained on piano. Band Maid has zero songs with such an extensive "Twin-Solo" (as Miyako calls them) as in "Unchained" or the vast majority of their songs. Don't get me wrong about Band Maid. I think they are excellent in performance and (now) in original compositions, I'm just more into Metal than Rock and all LOVEBITES lyrics being in English also sways me to favor their songs. The two bands are personally acquainted, the drummers are friends, both bands have attended the other's concerts in Japan. Although I generally agree with boyzyu's comment, I will assert that LOVEBITES have no "usual sound" except the "LOVEBITES SOUND" which includes an extensive array of genre from classical, R&B/Soul, ballads, Rock, and wide variations in METAL sub-genre, often within a single song. Some have called it "LOVEBITES Metal" and others "Happy Metal". The band says, "We Are LOVEBITES and We Play HEAVY METAL !!" They consistently acknowledge life's challenges (to the extreme of finding hope & 'meaning' even in being Atomic Bombed), while affirming self-empowerment, perseverance, integrity, dignity & personal-responsibility supported by empathy. Simply put, LOVEBITES is METAL and Band Maid is Rock. BE FREE! Anywhere YOU Want !! 😉 🐺 dreg👁
