This song feels like wanting to cry and ball your eyes out, but can’t because you’ve ran out of tears. And no matter how hard you try, no matter how bad you want to, you just can’t muster up the energy to. You feel the frost of the cold air on the tip of your nose and fingers, but you don’t seem to care, too busy trying not to think too hard about the millions of things that are spiraling around in your head.
You see the sun set on the ocean’s horizon in your peripheral view. You decide to sit on the hood of your car and watch as the sky slowly turn into an array of colors. Like they’re dancing with one another, creating a warm mixture of oranges, pinks, and blues, with the slightest hint of green. You watch with amazement as the sky gracefully start to become a deep blue hue as the day comes to an end, soon to be engulfed by night. You can see a couple of stars starting to peak it’s way through as it gets darker.
And just like the ocean before you, you feel all these emotions start to crash down on you. Like tides clashing against the edge of a rocky ledge. Or a wave slowly pulling back and coming forth in a heavy splash. You feel the tears flow down, but you can’t seem to feel sad anymore. You feel somewhat at peace.
You smile, and start laughing through your tears. You might seem insane or high to the people passing by, but you don’t care. You’re finally happy. You’re starting to believe that everything will be okay. You’ve reached your destination.
