    Analog instruments are NOT easier to maintain.... As a matter of fact one of the biggest reason for moving to glass cockpit at first was not pilot situation awareness, but rather the fact that certain instruments such as the HSI and Attatude indicator were notoriously unreliable due to their complexity. Thus way the earliest examples of glass cockpits such as the 757 had only the AH and HSI replaced.

      it is very beautiful, until youre lost in the clouds and have the onset of spatial disorientation, its true HELL! ask me how i know!

    I hate the steam gauges with a passion. Compleately unreasonable to scan nowadays in the much more complex airspaces we fly in. Honestly I wish I had learned on the G1000 because there is a quite big learning curve on how to use them too. I wouldnt say steam gauges make a more skilled pilot, imo they can be even unsafe nowadays. And also a lot of them do require electrical power.
