Totally agree. I love MGA’s products but let’s not forget they are the same company who counts the LOL tots stand as a “surprise”!!!!

I am livid about the Bratz and I don't even collect them lol. I can't imagine the disappointment a kid would feel if they were opening that one day at a time. Especially a kid who already had a collection and was also getting doubles. That's so trash.
Yes! It's bad enough for adult collectors, but if I were a parent, I'd be so upset on my kid's behalf if I gave them this. Imagine being a kid and being so excited to see today's surprise, and it's a big door, so you're expecting something especially fun and... it's packaging. That's breaking my heart just thinking about it. It's thoughtless at best and mean-spirited at worst. Yikes!

I don't have kids, but I live in the apartment below my sister and neice...and last year I got my niece a FNAF advent calendar ...she actually waited and opened it one day at a time (something I'd never have been able to do as a kid , I was too excited about presents. I still am lol), so there are definitely kids out there who wait and do that (she was 9 at the time).
Thank you so much for this review. Now I know not to waste my money on the Bratz advent calendar because I would end up with doubles and I would also be super frustrated about a box as a surprise. I love how you do your videos, btw.

Great review! I would be super bummed if I got the Bratz calendar. Packaging is not a "prize", imo. And I'm not a fan of impossibly tiny makeup either. The Barbie calendar was WAY better! Though, a little glitter on those accessories wouldn't have killed them.
Yikes 😬 not a fan of the empty boxes in the Bratz calendar! I would be so disappointed if I paid that much and got empty boxes every other day.
Bratz must’ve been doing drugs when they let their packaging team release that calendar, I have no idea how you kept so calm foggy- when I saw that makeup pallet as the finale I would’ve thrown it on camera
You know what? I surprisingly don't hate the Color Reveal advent calendar. You actually get a pretty nice selection of stuff for the price. (And it's better than the Bratz one where MGA thinks kids will be excited to get an empty box for a prize.)

Hey Froggy, did you noticed that Mattel never issued a holiday Ken? Every year they put out a holiday Barbie or Christmas Barbie for the season. I've yet to see a holiday or Christmas Ken.

I was so excited about the Bratz Advent Calendar but that’s so messed up that they separated the box/doll like that. What a rip off 😞
6:55 basically there are several different versions/variants of wintertime collection/wintertime wonderland. Including releases where the dolls wear each other's clothes. There IS a version of Jade in that outfit
Barbie definitely wins my choice for the advent calendar. Cheaper and better value. The accessories and some of the outfit pieces are pretty cute. I won’t be buying personally as I’m not a fan of the doll that’s included, but it’s not a bad advent calendar, I would’ve enjoyed it as a kid for sure
I have to agree an empty box isn’t a gift! The customized white shoes are too cute that was definitely an upgraded look!!❤❤❤

There is an eBay seller I buy from who sells doll clothes. They have the still-paint-covered barbie reveal dolls as the mannequins in the listings. It's a really good idea.
I swear the paint covering the barbies is nicer than the paint underneath it most of the time.
That Bratz Calendar gives Chanel advent calendar vibes, it’s simply disgusting. Greedy much? The nerve of some companies.
genuinely shouldve been all exclusive winter themed dolls with one or two days of makeup and the dolls be in the boxes when opening. also agreed with her on the exclusive doll being the last days prize.
When I saw that the empty box is considered a suprise I was SHOCKED. That is messed up!
You handled the Bratz advent calendar very well. Like as horrible as it is that these surprise toys are basically just gambling aimed at little kids, as an adult you willingly take the risk. But that calendar was ridiculously overpriced and while yes, it TECHNICALLY didn't give you any doubles, making someone pay $60 for poorly painted plastic and empty packaging is just disgustingly greedy. Whoever thought that up and approved it for sale should be ashamed of themselves.

I saw a holiday barbie at my local Walmart the other day! It was the 2022 collecter's edition, (I think that's the name) and she cost $36.99. The one I found was the somewhat Hispanic looking one with dark brown hair. She had a red dress with poinsettia appliques, red painted nails, and red shoes. I own the 2014/15 holiday barbie and the dress looked a bit similar to that. I considered buying her, but decided to hold off for now. I love the holiday dolls, but I really hate how the dress is often glued to them. My mom has one from the 80's and that one has everything removable. I don't get why the newer ones are glued. If it was a safety hazard I would think the shoes would be glued, but nope.

The Holiday Santa Claus Barbie that has a brunette hair and side eye glance is absolutely gorgeous. Which is a Tori facesculpt. I might get her if she would be available soon in our local Barbie store. Not to mention that Mini Toya rocking all the outfits from the Halloween costume, Advent Color Reveal outfits and Holiday dress and Christmas hat.

Normally I don't collect Color Reveal Dolls in general because they have hard heads, and I'm not a fan of the hair extensions. However, I do prefer the ones with re-rooted hair since I own two Color Reveal Mermaids, and I gave them Made To Move bodies.
These companies are so greedy. Making an empty plastic box as a "surprise" is false advertising. Of course that is my opinion. My opinion also thinks you should nail polish paint the bows on those shoes red too. :)

I love this! I never do advent calendars but I think I’ll get my daughters the Barbie one, I really love that owl and the boots! The details you painted on the shoes were perfect, I would love to see you detail paint the jewelry pieces from that set too!
My second year getting this Advent calendar from Barbie and I must say I definitely enjoyed it I wish the dolls had actually rooted hair but the accessories are great

I think this advent calendar is for those who didnt buy the mini capsules. And how they consider the box as a suprise is really a waste of money! At least the Barbie colour reveal is value for money. And how the pop ups can stay on the ground is creative.

It sucks that you have so many doubles in your mini brats collection but since you do you could make custom minis with the extras! like maybe give the guy dark hair and a solid color shirt that's what I would probably do anyway.
The Christmas Barbie with the tori face mold is really cute, definitely you have to add her to your collection.

I’m glad I cancelled my order for the mini Bratz advent calendar I wish it had more than 1 exclusive and no makeup. My daughter got lucky the advent calendar for Barbie last year we got really cheap at a discount store. Wow how lame dolls & packages yikes. I bought my daughter the Disney mini brands advent calendar for this year. 👍👍👍 I don’t know anything for winter Bratz dolls but they do typically have 2 looks so that might be why the artwork is confusing 🤷🏻♀️ I have seen some find mini Bratz $2.99 at Target and RH shoes & purses $4.99 😉

The Barbie advent calendar came out in July??!! I'm German and we go HARD for advent. The Barbie calendars are my yearly joy. Last year's was great so I've been stalking Mattel and Amazon to see what this year's is. [EDIT: Found it. The packaging wasn't distinct enough for me to tell it wasn't last year's calendar. Looks like this is all we have this year 😭 I'll probably get last year's Fairytopia calendar.] This video is the first I'm hearing about it at all!! In the US do you already have the "normal" calendar too? The Color Reveal is nice, but I like dolls with traditional hair.
The one I liked most out of all the brats was trinity, the holiday brat .
I have seen other RUclipsr that open barbie color reveal calendar that comes with a sliver dress and pink sweater. snowman and puppy and blue leggings. I might have to buy two calenders. I think each barbie calendar comes with different things . Very nice doll.

Hope everyone considering the Bratz advent calendar watches this! It might do for an adult collector just starting that collection - but anyone else is going to be seriously disappointed, and I can imagine the tears on the days when the surprise is an empty box! That really is disgraceful.
The Barbie one looks great though - really nice collection of stuff. I agree about the making the jewellery look like metallic gold and silver - after all, it's supposed to be a Christmas collection! But much better value for money than the Bratz one, which is, frankly, a damn rip-off.

Hi I like watching your videos because I like working in different scales (1/12, 1/3 and others) I've just watched the empire dress making video ( Bridgerton inspired, when sewing fabric pieces to make small scale clothing you'll find if you lay the fabric on tissue paper first, you'll find a standard size sewing machine will sew without the risk of pulling the fabric into the machine ...
