The UN have given the "Palestinians" a few more rights and the general assembly (now dominated by the OIC and its lackeys) has pressed the security council to give consideration to membership but they still remain a non member with "observer status" and they are not yet an actual "sovereign state" , their membership requires consent from the security council and I would imagine that would require them to recognise Israel's right to exist, to denounce territorial claims and to reach agreement on mutually secure borders (as per resolution 242 (1967)), do you see that happening? I don't, not when HAMAS invoke the "divine" command to "drive them out from where they drove you out" (even though that did not really happen) and they have the support of the wider Muslim world, in their aim at least if not necessarily in their methods.
