    Thank you so much Sir for your time and initiative to create content for us. My pre submission pf Phd is this Dec and then I shall start applying for post doc in my area(PTSD and Dissociation). I wish to take my mother along with me so the choice of lab depends on insurance and healthcare for parent also.

    Hi Dr Ganguli! Thank you. We are based in Australia and have built a special section of CAMPUS RADAR JOBS for postgraduates to post a brief article about themselves, their job aspirations and their research. It's called the CAMPUS RADAR café. They can indicate their available for employment and hopefully they will get found. It's FREE, quick and easy to do. Create a candidate profile (private) and then write a quick café article. That's all you need to do.

    Hello Professor. I recently came to Australia in August for Joint PhD. Do the Australian supervisor have negative opinion if I apply for competative Postdoc fellowship such as TU Munich instead of trying in Australia itself ? Pls let me know supervisor's perspective.
    2) Can I request supervisor directly if I can get opportunity under him? Does that sounds good in terms of sypervisor's perspective.

    • @Drganguli
      @Drganguli  2 месяца назад

      Well you should at least have some progress in your PhD or a paper before you bring up the subject of postdoc etc. The thinking depends on the individual concerned. Most people don’t mind if you try elsewhere but sometimes if they have expertise and funding in the same field then they will not like it. They may not give a recommendation in some cases.

    • @Drganguli
      @Drganguli  2 месяца назад

      You can request the supervisor directly. It depends on your equation with him or her and the dynamics and personality you sense from the individual and the lab

    Sir, what I found, Humboldt fellowship is applicable for those candidates who have finished their PhD not before last 4 years.......Mine is finished 12 years back......even many other fellowships funded by SERB is also having same terms and conditions.....

    • @Drganguli
      @Drganguli  Год назад

      Yes foundation and government fellowships may have age limits. You have to apply to postdoc jobs which are advertised open positions.

    Sir, I have a question in mind, if I get selected for a post Doc in Europe, UK, USA or Australia, Whether the host institute provide cost of the first journey from home to there? Since many of our Phd students doesn't have sufficient money to go there and living in the first month, until they receive their first salary.

    • @Drganguli
      @Drganguli  8 месяцев назад +2

      In humboldt, JSPS, Fulbright they do. Generally the foundation postdocs will give you air fare etc. But for jobs from professors in labs it may not be possible

    Sir, thank you so much for the information.
    I am a regular employee at India.
    Senior Scientist at ICAR and employment record for last 12 years.
    I was searching post doc position for shorter duration and with full funding.
    Now my question whether these are funded fellowship program or not?
    Thanks

    • @Drganguli
      @Drganguli  Год назад

      Yes these fellowships are funded. Postdoc is typically funded as you are working there as a researcher during this time. Also consider the humboldt sabbatical
