We love Dominican Republic. Wandering around beautiful Las Terrenas and other charming places in Samana Peninsula especially!
This year, we finally decided to rent a quad and drive around the town to discover new spots. This is how we found Playa poncho ;-)
Playa Poncho

Getting There is easy!
Playa Poncho is located near the town of Cabrera, in the Maria Trinidad Sánchez province. To reach this secluded beach, you can fly into Santo Domingo or Punta Cana, and then take a scenic drive to the northeastern coast. The journey is worth it, as you’ll be greeted by a tropical paradise that offers a more tranquil and less crowded alternative to the popular tourist spots.
The Beach
Playa Poncho is a picturesque stretch of coastline with soft golden sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters. The beach is framed by lush palm trees, offering natural shade and a postcard-worthy backdrop for your tropical escape. Whether you’re a sunbather, a swimmer, or an adventurer, Playa Poncho has something to offer.
The calm and shallow waters are perfect for swimming, and you can explore the vibrant marine life with snorkeling gear. There’s a sense of serenity at Playa Poncho that’s hard to find on the more crowded beaches, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and meditation.
