Verification would fix most of the game’s problems, by forcing each player to only have one account. That is the main reason why league is popular in Asia, and not in North America, because one account makes Smurfs not able to scare new players away a little ranks. If only

When I first got into league, my third game put me up against a Darius who pretty much farmed me the whole game while flashing some medal every time he did it. I got flamed by everyone to stop feeding, so I said "Okay", hit alt + f4, then uninstalled.

To be fair it's kinda confusing that gun champions and gun items do not have some sort of thematic connection which makes you more likely to build them
Like, imagine if gun items all gave lethality like collector because they are more "armour penetrating" than bows, which get stuff like attack speed instead, maybe both get crit if they are marksman items
And then champions who have guns in their model like Jhin would scale of lethality and stuff (which he does!) So you would be incentivised to build gun items on him, because he has guns

I was building tear on hecarim to spam q-w. people so butthurt when you don't build mobafire or whatever items. funnily enough later that season everyone building muramana on hecarim. then it's a korean build. the other was ganks. botlane losing. blame me, the jungler. tell me to gank, 5x within 4 minutes. like sometimes I wasn't even lvl 3, I was spending time answering, was under level, got cc chain, they let me die then complain.
I remember the time when lane management was the cool new invention :) nobody did it for long.

Many people who play League have no understanding. Ever since the Briar HP changes I've been trying her as a support. I get people be like "it won't work she's not a support" yet when you compare her kit to a champion like Pantheon, who's considered a viable support, you can clearly see she has way more potential. Of course none of that matters because streamer confirmation > results
all they need to do is make the tutorial better. teach players about xp gain and cs, objectives, different roles. they also need to give new players all summoner spells, and access to rune pages.
there are just so many mechanics important in the game xD riot would never be able to make a tutorial on that. theyre way too stupid

A while ago, I kinda realised: The League tutorial doesn't even tell you what the jungle is - much less about playing the role. If you happen to walk in there of your own volition in tutorial 2 or 3, it tells you that "neutral minion camps" exist, and that's it. The game doesn't even introduce you to the concept of roles, much less Baron or Dragon. It kinda, needs a *little bit* of an update.
If every fighting game I own can have playable tutorials for every system in the game, as well as tutorials on tons of basic mechanics and game knowledge, ontop of dozens of combo/mechanic tutorials for every individual character in that game... League (of all games) should be able to tell new players about things like drakes, roles and the jungle... Preferably, ontop of basic concept knowledge for things like strongside/weakside, leashing, wave management, cooldowns/trading, champion identity, etc.
Right now (even after like 13 damn years), League is basically a wiki-game; as in, anything beyond ARAM and beginner bots is basically content you need a wiki for... Except, the only decent "wiki" for most people is friends or RUclips - and both will probably give you *some* kind of misinformation or opinionated information. That is, unless you spend like 500 hours figuring things out yourself (which will probably *also* end up giving you such flawed knowledge, as well).

Sorry to say this isnt true anymore. One of my friends that is new into league played his first ranked ever, lost, and got placed into gold 2 anyway. He's been losing for days and his mmr is already bronze. This is all because of Riot's new anti smurf tactics.

@@thecristalium4448 i have smurf accounts, and its all about how you play rather than if you won or lost. if i win a game where i play some champ and went 1/10 with no assists, then ill get placed around bronze, if i play a game and smurf my ass off and lose, ill still get gold as a start. youre not getting placed into gold because you won/lost a game, you get placed there based off how you played, and your friend plays at a gold level vs lower skilled people, id say hes right around high bronze/mid silver.
Meanwhile they place brand new players who just hit level 30 into plat MMR matches in ranked, giving whichever team they are on a free loss.

@@Digger-Nick that's entirely dependent on how they played in their normals leveling up their accounts to 30. I know for a fact brand new fresh accounts hand leveled by a noob wont be placed into plat MMR right off the bat, though some do weed into there, most of the time they'll fall a little over their actual rank & demote down to it, but you wont see a bronze player go into plat, youll probably see a gold player touch plat once.

I remember when I was the new player. 2015, I heard a friend talk about this cool game "League of Legends" so I installed it and played some bot games
I was so bad that not only did I lose these games, I was banned for 2 weeks for inting
... Idek how that could've even happened. the bots are fairly easy to exploit once you figure out their behavior. And even if you struggle, there's always one guy in the lobby that's like 20/1 against the bots and already at the Nexus turrets by 20 minutes.

I remember smurfing back in S3 in bronze. You could literally 1v5 there. Once someone asked me to adc so I decided to support. Like what might go wrong.
He came to lane and immediately stood in place and started autoattacking, of course no getting any gold from the minions. I told him how and what to do and he wrote me (I remember this exact sentence up to today): "shut up i know how play adc" xD

I suspect that other players get much the same impression from having mechanics explained to them, even if it isnt intended to be derogative.
@@PinkeySuavo pfft, one of my favorites was when I was playing a support champ and I was like, "You expect me to have as much kill pressure as a blitzcrank... with Soraka?" One of my other favorites was back when support items weren't limited. So, 3 people, myself included, wanted to play ADC, so all 3 of us were in bottom lane. we had somehow come to the agreement to share minions using the item that increases health and gives minion gold to the nearest ally... We were doing amazing at 6/1 at 5 minutes into the game and their tower destroyed. The "carry" that we had fed 4 of the 6 kills to suddenly said, "you're not playing the game right!" and insisted that they jungle... immediately died to the opposing jungler and we lost because all of our farm was wasted on a player that was no longer playing cooperatively...Seriously, imagine the lane pressure that is a lane composed of Tristana, Ashe and Miss Fortune...(might have been caitlynn). Even the jungler couldn't jump us because they were instantly vaporized XD

Well...I started playing Wild Rift 2 months ago because I became interested in trying out league...I started consuming content for LoL early 2023 and have been learning how to play, how to play each lane, what a jungler is and how to jungle, Learning champions, about champion pools and champions archetype, learning metas, lol etiquette, Top lane tactics, bot lane combos, learning what each dragon creatures and Rift heralds do, Equipment what they do, what equipment combos together and which legends it goes with, match ups, and what each game mode is about...All to try my 1st game today against bots to be double teamed by AI in the top lane while our Bot Sett sat in base all game... basically throwing everything I learned damn near out the window the 1st gd game
you need to stick to one role and one champ to learn the game properly.

Riot's main issue is making Phreak part of the game design/balance team. He isn't balancing it for the greater good of the playerbase, he's balancing so he can finally gain elo.

You are one of those ADCs which is why I changed my main role from Support to ADC and now I have real NPCs as support who stand behind me and random engage at the worst moment ever while they never give vision even when I ping where to place it! While the entire enemy team consists of main professional LEAGUE OF LEGENDS SWAT TEAM, THEY INSIST on my lane teleports and gank me together with middle and jungle as soon as I do even one failstep!
I will never forget my friend’s first build. Redemption Zed is inspiring.

Anyways, after watching your previous videos with the Rod of Ages on Lillia and Swain I tried it on Nunu. The 2nd item doesn't usually work out for me so I switched it with other tank items against enemy team comp.
The build I went for is:
Rod of Ages -> Any tank item against enemy team comp (like Omen's, Frozen Heart, Rooker) -> another tank item or AP item
Go for Dark Harvest Runes instead of Phase Rush

To be fair to the Cait at 9:57 her ult was targetting the Kindred that was barely on screen and looked low on health and not Shen. Shen just blocked the shot that time. Doesn't really redeem all the ults shown up until then though but hey targetting lower health enemies is progress?
11:45 I believe I played my first ranked game before I understood builds properly. Back in season 5 / 6 I got jg, because that was when you had to type in chat which role you wanted. I was on a slow connection. I bought two machette components, so I could clear the jg twice as fast. I believe I was going to buy two sets of boots, because I have two feet right? I also didn't use the active wards as my first support game. The flame was pretty intense. But it was B4. WTF did they expect. Iron didn't exist at that time. I also tried Garen top, but didn't understand his passive. I basically straight ran it without understanding why I didn't win. I don't think I touched Garen for two seasons because of that one game. It was like I trama blacked out that he even existed in the game. That was my contribution to ranked my first season, just giving away that sweet sweet LP.
i started around s7 or s8 and man was i so shit, i remember playing ww and just q'ing every single thing i saw. red buff? q, minion in lane? q, hell i didnt even know what passives were and i would use my mouse to click on every ability. Then learned how to play the game by watching videos on youtube, simple shit like "how to play league of legends" and boom, watched a video and i understood it just a tad bit more. Flash forward to today, I hit chall last split.
The cait was actually years beyond our comprehension building ap for the slight chance they had AP trundle, we need more people that think that ahead.
My first game was beautiful, i was a senna suport who accompanied the toplaner because i though support could go everywhere, that meant that all of the 4 smurfs there started camping us while shining mastery and my adc was asking everyone to report me. meanwhile i was like "What did i do?"
i see all these people saying this was them when they started, and i legit question how people tie their shoes. there's a difference between not being able to execute things well and straight up not understanding that distance and numbers exist.
League has a *lot* of nuance that long-time players dont think about anymore because it's muscle memory for them now. New players dont *have* that muscle memory and then get bombarded with the entirity of League all at once with a tutorial that explains none of it beyond the absolute skeleton crew of a bare minimum.
First is panicking and just spamming shit then there are any enemies
Second is finding it incredibly difficult to maneuver your character specially if u don’t know how to lock on to it

Anyone played the starcraft beginner challenges? (gives you a minute to deal with 20 enemies with limited resources, basically a meat blender that tells you, you are doing it wrong if you lose. When I see this I think everyone needs a league beginner challenge
When I was new I remember thinking "why buy a beginner item when I can buy a component for a late game item?" So I would just be Gnar in top lane with a dagger.
Sometimes I would buy a support item back in those days cuz it had increased gold generation and I thought that I was being big brained and that I was smart for apparently "playing the long game" or some garbage.

the problem is that lol just isnt fun. its like the group school projects where everyone shared a grade. its not fun if hard work gets punished and a good grade when you fuck up feels undeserved.

brother i play since season 2 and i can assure you if you are that old of a player or even since s3-4-5 and you still playing then you have the basic understanding of decision making in the back of your head...i get matched with people inting the enemy lane then proceed to flame entire team spam pings and say gg ff go next waste of my time and the dude is 0 8 0.... like cmon this game has existed for over a decade now and no im not talking about new players im talking about players in plat that are either boosted or have a huge ego cause a duo carried them there and every time they die in the first 3 mins of the match they have a meltdown and ragequit the game

personal experience that may not relate much but I have a friend with whom I play occasionally and he only plays one champion and refuses to acknowledge any lanes that are not mid or adc(the champion they play isn't an ADC in the slightest btw), regardless to say he didn't leash and had no idea how the jungle works. One time I told him to go get the blue buff and he straight up asked me: "What is blue?"
At that point I realized that they were willfully ignorant of the game because they didn't want to make an effort in learning the mechanics.
All he knows is how to last hit(and he still misses a lot of them) and what his champion's abilities do and he feels completely satisfied with that.
TL;DR sometimes new players don't even really care enough about the game, which is fair if it's a singleplayer or a PVE game. The moment you play PVP you should at least be willing to learn the roles and the bases of the game, just not to waste your teammates time.

1:46 Yeah I think its worth pointing out that League might be the only game in existence that not only allows you to do full documentations of other players, but actually encourages you to do so with all the plug-ins like Overwolf, Porofessor, or whatever that other one is.

The game's complicated enough as it is; the fact that it has such an underdeveloped tutorial and completely impractical bots is absurd. Riot's basically been coasting on the fact that people only get into League if they already know someone who plays it

Out of little ADC experience, I have learned that having 80% more hp than your opponent is not an advantage. Even at that point, melee champions can usually kill you if they get close.

Every new player is now placed in Emerald elo because riot just want to make sure your 2 win streak at level 30 doesn't mean you are a elo booster.
Heads' up for the community, RIOT is about to try introducing their root-kit level anti-cheat called "Vanguard" into League of Legends again. The last time they floated this idea, community response shut it down, be sure you help make sure it gets shut down again to keep the community safe from this dangerous anti-cheat.
