I really appreciate the warnings Tim gives us. We are tempted with the ‘ us and them’ attitudes, and in one way it is true. But Daniel’s prayer has been a beautiful example of loving his people. He uses the we, us, our when describing the sins and rebellion of his people. It has helped me when I pray about my nation to do likewise. I see the end time prophecies the way Tim does. I stopped the lesson at several points to discuss it with the Lord. I found myself thanking Him for physical death. He limited , or has held back, our evil or we would have destroyed this world long ago. I actually saw death as part of His righteousness, mercy and grace.
Thank you so much for keeping these sermons / lessons online Tim. You are a blessing good sir. I am a new follower of Jesus, after a year long journey of searching for.. Something, before the Holy Spirit opened my eyes to Truth (I realize now that I was searching for God, but I'm pretty stubborn... and a little dumb, apparently). Anyway, Daniel was one of the first books I read the whole way through. It is a really incredible account, that I think has far more to do with our modern world than people give credence. I'm sure you have already, but be sure to check out John Lennox's book on Daniel (and Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah). ✌️💙
Our women’s Bible study group is working on Daniel and this week Daniel 9 specifically. Thank you Pastor Tim, as you ALWAYS assist in providing clarity where I miss it. This is a great to share this week. May God continue to bless you which then blesses us! Proud Bible Project follower and contributor, Patricia
This series is especially relevant in this year of 2021. Truer words have never been said of our need to own our mistakes and turn our hearts back to God and not to humanity (even if we perceive that we are the most evolved and smartest ever) just proves our inability to create our own Eden. Thanks Tim.
Thank you Tim. I have been listening to all your work. You are soo easy to follow. And explain things so we understand. I hope one day i can listen to you in your church...
This is all extremely good stuff and I hate to get hung up on a technicality. But there’s no way Daniel is in his 60s at the writing of this chapter as Tim stated in 16:59. The thing is that Daniel goes to Babylon “in the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim” (Daniel 1:1) which means around 606/605BC. And Darius the Mede rises to power around 539BC so the events of this chapter happen around that time (Daniel 9:1). If Daniel is in his early teens when he gets captured, he must be around 80 years old (not 60). I’m sure Tim just misspoke yet it’s difficult to just let it slide 🙈🤓
Finally, SOMEONE who makes the 70x7 makes sense. Thank You, Tim!
