The pollination process is interesting, especially when pollen is collected and then blown up into the tops of the palms onto the female flowers. I love dates, sweet and chewy, I like the ones that are a bit more moist, I just wish these had a bit more complex of flavors, maybe other varieties do have more flavor.

Dates goes very well with temarin and other spices like cumin, cardamom and funnel seeds. Make icecream with dates. We can do platation of dates and prickly pears side by side, Mixture of dates fruit +prickly pears pad juice, with jaggery , termarin and spices will make very good salty kulfi ice cream. Combination of banana with dates is also good. Prickly pears pad keep body temperature cool. When we get burned, we apply prickly pears pad. In arab people do stamping to camel with hot stamps. After stamping must apply prickly pears pad juice to heal the wounds of camel. Jay shree ram.
I grew 2 date plants from seed, but my brothers young daughter cut the head off and they died never tried to grow it again..... but they still good to grow in the desert though...
I was wondering if the plants could be grown from seeds from the commercial dates bought in supermarkets. I don't know what seeds you used but I will try to germinate some of the seeds I got from commercial dates bought in supermarkets. I can try; it wouldn't cost me anything except the time to set those seeds and water them.

I forgot the formula though, but thing it was like cleaning seed then put in room temperature water where there is no light, then put it in a soil and they came out... found it from internet how to maybe you can google it...

It's been around 10 years,our palm tree started bearing fruit,but it never ripe,initially we were not familiar about pollination requirements but for 2-3 years we are pollinating date tree but our dates still don't ripe,what could be the reason??
