I’ve had the v2 of this gilt homage for about a week, and it is excellent. The date wheel is black with white text now, and I’ve enjoyed wearing it. And it was only $80 after discounts. Highly recommended.
I'm glad I got this gold version, looking forward to receiving it. It looks great in your video, and for less than USD 90 in the sales, it's hard to get better value on such a beauty.
This sure looks to be the best of the bunch. Their snoopy was such a let down, I was really rooting for that one.

Received my non gold version this week. The date wheel is now black which is a big plus. What let’s this watch down is the lack of any AR coating on the sapphire making the hands and chrono dials difficult to see in most lights. The hands and the indices definitely need to be white which would massively aid visibility and that’s why it only gets 7.5/10 for me. I’ve 60+ watches in my collection mostly Swiss made autos but what’s the point wearing a watch at my price if the hands and indices/numerals are so difficult to see. I want to be able to see the time at first glacé and not have to tilt the watch to tell the time!! However for such a low price these mechs quartz Chinese homages are good value but with a few tweaks could be great value. I’d pay more for this watch if the improvements I’ve mentioned were added. The Phyleda Tin Tin with column wheel chrono is next on my list but always seems to be out of stock!! The original Speedy with Heselite is the watch to have is the only Speedmaster to really own but it’s at least £1k overpriced for outdated specs and even the newer sapphire sandwich with superior movement is far too expensive but it’s moonwatch heritage dictates the inflated asking price. Go ahead and buy the Pagani black or gold Speedy but avoid the blue Snoopy homage. With slightly better specs or be it at a slightly higher price and with its dependable Seiko MQ movement it could be a great budget buy watch. You get what you pay for but surely legibility should be at the top of any watch purchase.

The all black dial with the horriblycheap looking silver hands, and the white dial with blue hands, just don't cut it. I was told that its is a CERAMIC BEZEL INSERT, which is decent. So I'll wait for Pagani's VERSION 2, which "should" have POWDER WHITE hands and NO date window. 😉

I know people don’t really like the silver snoopy version, but to me it’s beautiful. I’m not really a critic.
They’ve had these listed on Amazon for like a month, I really have wanted a good speedmaster homage, however I’m holding out for a V2. I don’t mind having a date wheel as long as it matches the color of the dial. I’d like the hands and indices to be white on the og version, the gold version is surprisingly much better than expected however I’d like to see that grayish inner part of the dial like omega’s. As for the snoopy, I think they have to go back to the drawing board, just can v1 and start from scratch. I’d also like to pay a couple more dollars for better lume, I mean it’s a moonwatch homage, let’s be able to see it in the dark. Love your channel man, keep it up!

I really like the gold, and I am a stainless steel kind of guy. I think the gold accents the hands nicely making them extra visible. If it had an st19 movement like your Phylida I would be all over it. I am really sad I missed out on getting the mechanical movement in a decent Speedmaster homage.
You didn’t miss out. They just are only in stock sporadically. Just have to keep checking.
Just got the black v2 yesterday. The date window is now white on black, an improvement. The hands are still polished metal instead of white. I suppose this is an homage, and not a copy. I switched out the bracelet for a good leather strap, and am pleased with it so far.
The V2 version just came out with a black date wheel! Just when I got my V1 haha. But I still love my V1. Thanks for this great preview!
Saturn isn't the only planet with rings its just the most famous one, just saying, good review I'm looking at the gold with green dial.

Just keep checking as they come up all the time but only a couple at a time. Be quick before someone grabs it. I managed to get the Tin Tin version just before xmas. Looks great too!
When mine shows up the first thing Im gonna figure out is to either replace that date wheel with a black one or black it out completely so it will have no date.
If you want a better bargain moon watch thrn get the Bulova. Its a fantastic piece and I got mine for about $325 shipped.

Trendy Men's Watch Store has the Version 2 but I'm not seeing any differences. Any word on what the changes are?
Only difference I could tell on mine (all black version) was the color-matched date wheel. Nothing else. I'm told v3 will have different "pointers" (all white hands...? Go figure...)

I have the CORGEUT speedmaster (Vk67) and I noticed the minute hand go a little forward when I reset the chronograph. It doesn't always happen, just sometimes. Is this normal? because I read in forums that it also happens in more expensive watches (Tudor for example)
Yes it happens on expensive watches as well. I had a Tudor BB Chrono and it did that from time to time. I just started and reset the chrono a few times in a row to fix it.
I 😘 ve the color and the bracelet on the PD but hate the contrast and position for the date. The phalleda is nice for it's simplicity.

It's all about the 'feel' of the watch. The looks are OK, but I like to get the feeling in a review as well. The edges, the weight, the buckle, the bracelet on the skin, the fit on the wrist, that is something a review could tell me and the pictures can't.
Full review coming. I just finished properly resizing it…. The band is solid. Its push links, which sucks, but ones its sized its super comfy, not pulling arm hairs. Weight wise, its about middle of the pack, its decent actually for not being too heavy. Buckle is solid. One of their best buckles.

Tough call…. I think if you were to get this gold version…your fine. Its very gorgeous in person. Im really surprise and happy with it. But if you check on Ali…theres some V2s out. Im currently working with Trendy Mens Watch Store to confirm what the white V2 actually looks like…I may get it as well. V1 white/blue model is horrendous.

there are 2 versions!!! the one with a GREY dial and the one with the BLACK dial!!! the grey dial is the homage to the 50th anniversary Omega one

The matte black dial and gold hour markers knock it our of the park, for me. The gold bezel looks expensive. I'll wait until it's $80 to buy it, though.
If you have some table top stand for your phone, you have two hands to open the box and handle the watch....

I hv an old Moonwatch Omega but I didn't hesitate to get 2 Phylida (sterile black & branded Tintin) becoz they have the case display at the back, just like my Omega. The Caliber ST19 is doing a very good job. I cud not image to buy another homage one being meca-quartz. To my eyes, a Moonwatch must be fully mechanical without any other question. it's only a personal feeling 🤔
I do agree with you. But this isn’t too bad, especially when V2 hopefully comes out with a bunch of fixes, that this is cheap alternative for those who don’t want to spend much. But I agree full mechanical is the right way to homage the speedmaster 100%. Enter Phylida..

Pagani blew it. Without the white date wheel the gold version would almost be tolerable. The black version has silver hands and indices, the blue on the Snoopy is way off, the white date wheel is horrible on the black and gold models and the sub dial markings are way wrong on all of them. I'd rather buy the $55 Corgeut and learn to live with the ghost date position and mineral crystal. Or the $180 Phylida when it appears and live with the fragile Chinese movement. And you can get the Phylida in a Tin Tin version.
Love the Phylida, both regular and TinTin. They are the best version of manual wind homage speedmaster on the market.
The traps are garbage on these unfortunately but can't really complain for the money looks great need strap ideas for this
The version 2 has a black dial with white numbers. Less distracting than the white date wheel with black numbers. I hope version 3 removes the date window all together. Seriously. That’s my opinion.

Some nits about the video - it always bothers me when someone shows multiple watches and they're not set to the exact same time. That would have taken all of a couple of minutes to set up. People who care about small things and precision will be more satisfied by seeing that done. I'd also like to have heard how accurate you found the movement - even if you just timed it for a few days. As it turns out I got the one with the white dial and blue subdials and so far it seems to run about half a second fast per day, or about 15 seconds fast per month. Not bad, and certainly better fast than slow, but one always wishes for perfection, even with "cheap" models like this one. Lastly, note that the PD-1701 has sharp edges all over the place and could do with a bit of smoothing to make it safer to wear.
If only they make the date background black and the font white.
