Sure, Root and Brook are great players, but being an English supporter living in Australia and after watching a few of these games, I'm really worried about the bowling. Surely, they can make harder and faster pitches with today's technology. England needs real pace to be a good side. Medium pacers will be destroyed in most other nations. Unless a bowler is going to be a legend, 75-80mph isn't going to cut it. Watching Australian State level cricket, most the average are 5-10mph quicker, and many are high 80s to mid 90s
Its not great for sure, but the cricket season in England is nearly underway and most pitches will be as soft as a bed right about now. Its just that the conditions don't reward fast bowling as much as they do hitting length and trying to extract some swing out the air and seam out the surface. I completely agree with you, we need faster bowlers in the future if we want to dominate the game like Australia do.
@bilalmalik5002 Surely, the technology is available. Something like those hard pitch covers but with heaters in them to make them dry and hard or drop-in pitches made indoors 🤔. It would cost a bit, but imagine every second County ground having something like this. It would also help develop spinners as the pitch would turn a lot more later as the pitch gets older
