This and episode 7 of season 3 are my top faves. We get so many answers but also a look at how things were set into motion for what we’ve seen. Such a great show!
Ive always been kinda confused about these few episodes. I wish they would have explained how Adam was able to make a portal to that exact date, when every other instance of time travel has been a jump of 33 years. They even made a point of saying the reason why it was 33 years is because of the alignment of the planets and stuff being the link to why it works. So... it just bugs me they kinda were like "meh, forget about that detail, we can go back to a specific time now because reasons"
The planetary alignment isn't the reason for the 33 year cycle and jumps, it's just a coincidence that shows the complex "design" of fate. Similar to how all the parental drama mirrors Tannhaus' reasons for splitting time. The reason the portal breaks the 33 year cycle is because it's simply a more advanced device. Sic Mundus develops their time travel over time in stages. First Noah's machine, then the portable machine, then (probably) the sphere, and Adam's god particle comes from the sphere's fuel. Like the god particle, the sphere breaks the 33 year cycle too. Of course it's complicated by time travel, as Adam uses the knowledge he gained from working with Claudia on the 2053 god particle to create his own.
Something that strikes me strange about this episode: Black Mirror is one of the inspirations for this series. One of the episodes, San Junipero, features the song Heaven is a Place on Earth as its main theme. Two women dance and fall in love to it. So when the showrunners have Katarina try to dance with Charlotte to it, are they trying to imply something?
Where did you hear that? I think I've watched all video Baran Bo Odar and Jantje Friese's interviews and read many article based interveiws with them, I've never heard this connection. I'm very curious.
11:05 Michael's deafening silence followed by the "du" was spooky af when I heard it the first time...

You seem kinda detached from the story or just not fully grasping it. Maybe a rewatch of the entire show in a few years time.
