Allen Onyema is the best thing that happened to Nigerian Aviation Sector. May The Good Lord continue to keep him and help him continue enhancing the flying experience for Nigerians. I would like to fly our own airlines when traveling all over the world.
Just like other airlines like Qatar airways, when you fly with them, you usually make a stop at Qatar. Ours should be no different.

The enigmatic Rufai with a great presentation, the wonderful and beautiful Ayo and the indomitable Dr Reuben Abati with a great analysis. Very nice to see the brilliant Nigerian entrepreneur, Allen Onyema once again on Arise TV. It is a shame that despite all the recent strides that continues to be made by private Nigerian operators such as Air Peace etc we're still unable to put an effective project to secure a national airline for the country. Also past corruption and ineptitude have meant that our national carrier cannot be sustained and the only people benefiting from the situation are foreign airlines and some of our corrupt and unscrupulous government officials. I think that it is high time that Nigerian government begin to think of putting effective private operators such as Mr Onyema at the helm of affairs to manage our national carrier whenever a new initiative is being planned.

  • @obehiokojie4066

I would like to see the main airline operators in Nigeria consolidate and then be given the right to operate as a national carrier under some agreement that allocates 10% holding by the FGN, 20% to be sold as equities to Nigerians on the NSE, and 70% to the main private airline operators. This way we can have a strong avaiation player that can take advantage of our national rights under BASA and compete globally llike Ethiopia Airline and thier likes. I live in the U.S and would be happy to fly in the Nigerian owned airline whenever I am visiting home. There is a sense of national pride that comes with that.

But, his comments must be seen from the lens of a business owner who wants to protect his business interests by not confronting the government of Tinubu, which is understandable. First note that Nigeria has no national carrier, so when you ask for the same frequency it can not be reciprocate, but if Nigeria have air lines register as National carrier with call sign as November 5 or so as per the bilateral agreement. The UAE have a standard rules covering the civil aviation, every national carrier of other countries landed in Dubai international airport terminal one, while all charter operators make the used of terminal two, so we should not mixed up issues. Air peace is a charter operator, if they need landing permit in Dubai it has to be to terminate two where charter operators are being allow landing. So it is not Air peace right because it coming from Nigeria to Dubai it has automatically become Nigerian airline so right accrued to the national carrier must be giving to him to land in Dubai terminal one. This was issues the Air peace and Nigerian government could have looked critically into it before they missed fire her petition to Nigerian civil aviation to minimize Emirates frequency . Airport terminal one is meant for all National carrier of other countries. So my concern is that, is air peace now A Nigerian national carrier? Which government is fighting UAE civil aviation to allowed the same frequency into Dubai?

most airlines are not owned by their home registered countries, but those countries enable them to thrive because they pay taxes and employ their country men and women.

I think what Mr. Oyema is talking about is passenger airlines. The Helicopter that crashed was not a commercial passenger carrier, therefore, that accident could not be part of the stats when reporting these numbers; With Regards to Max Air, serious regulatory compliance monitoring effort by the NCAA led to the discovery of violations by that airline ,and was cited accordingly for noted violations. Therefore, NCAA should be applauded for taking their regulatory responsibilities seriously.

@@JohnWilliams-ml3nr LOL. Max Air is back in business without complying with any NCAA regulations. The helicopter crash in lagos counts as a an aviation crash and its also a passenger airline. It doesnt has to be a tube and wing aircraft with turbine engines for it to count as a crash. Once a bird flies to the sky and falls down uncontrollably and has an unintended impact on the ground it is a crash.
