I was waiting until Meta keynote and when they didn't announced new version of these I've ordered one with polarized lenses. My plan is to use them on the beach and record playing beach tennis. Also, I am going to wear them while riding bicycle with background music. Like you said they're designer glasses with some nice add-ons. That's enough for me.
This was very helpful. I’m considering getting some but it sound like it might be better to wait for next gen or competitor to make one. At least the weight difference would help.
Thanks for the thoughts. I’m thinking about getting a set primarily as POV glasses for short form juggling lessons and capturing moments during my performances that would otherwise be difficult to capture without being really obvious to an audience. Seems like they have some very interesting potential! Great video. Thanks!
Thank you for the review; that's super helpful. I wondered if it could mirror other apps on iPhone beside using Meta view, it's like treating Ray-Ban Meta as an external monitor for iPhone. Could Ray-Ban Meta do this?
One of my friends told me something that I just can't forget when it comes to smart glasses. In the future, she believes that with the facial recognition technology, creepy people will be able to pull up her information in a second and find out where she lives, where she works, her family members, and anything that really identifies her. Just think of how many stalkers will be able to do all this or even everyday people, not to mention the privacy concerns of Facebook and Meta.
Your friend's future is closer than you think: www.nytimes.com/2024/10/24/technology/facial-recognition-glasses-privacy-harvard.html?unlocked_article_code=1.V04.zfoV.yk_qH3rA2_t9&smid=url-share - Josh
meta started with a good pair of glasses as theri first version, but i would buy them only when they will implement bone conduction speakers, good ai features, like chatgpt current version, that can probably help you also with the direction to reach a place analyzing the image or other smarter things than their current version. And the last thing is battery life: as you say in the video, the minimum time i would accpet is 8 hours, i know it s hard to fit a good battery inside a pair of glasses, but around 8 hours is the sweet spot. After they implement these 3 features i will buy them, also for a higher price like 600, the ai features can help a lot if the model is intelligent and can analyze what you are looking at (but it must be smarter than the actual model).
Thought about getting these with prescription, I work security and I think this would be useful but the price plus the prescription costs is a major purchase
I just got them. I am not a fan. The battery life is horrible. I thought it would be able to help me read small print but it doesnt seem to be able to read it any better than I can. I guess I will see how much use I get out of it while on vacay this weekend.
Other than the camera they don’t seem that different from my bose frames smart glasses. The day they get a heads up display for the lenses I’m not sure the price tag is justified but I love my glasses enough to own 2 generations of it.
Yes, the Google Maps audio would play over its speakers like any other bluetooth accessory, but navigation isn't built into the glasses themselves. You'd need to start navigation on your phone.
Vertical video and picture for the camera is the dumbest thing they decided on. Such a bummer. Whoever implemented that should burn in hell lol. Thanks to your review, I'll be looking elsewhere for a proper camera orientation glasses.
Can anyone tell me how is the music voice of this actually i m tired of using ear bud thinking to listen music from this is this good enough please provide the feedback 😊
Thank you for the honesty because I was going to buy but now I’d rather wait till they upgrade the battery and certain features that will benefit me because I drive trucks and I need a way better battery life to last at least 8 hours hopefully even 10 hours but we shall see

Is it necessary to have Bluetooth enabled in order to take pictures/videos? Or can it function perfectly fine without Bluetooth enabled for pictures/videos and just enable Bluetooth later to sync with device?
Would love to buy one for cycling.
Thanks!
How long does it take for the glasses to start? Need prescription lenses so was thinking about turning them off to preserve battery.
~15-30 seconds or so
Were are the photos you take save?
Thank you for the review; that's super helpful. I wondered if it could mirror other apps on iPhone beside using Meta view, it's like treating Ray-Ban Meta as an external monitor for iPhone. Could Ray-Ban Meta do this?
I bought mine for when I'm at work cuting trees down have gotten some Stellar shots of me climbing and cutting
Can you charge the case? Or does the case need to be plugged to charge?
The case has 32 hours of charging for the glasses. It doesn't need to be plugged in to charge
Im seeing this is their second version, are they planning on releasing a third version?
too bad if I use Fliip5 so many functions don't work in glasses?
They make a great dash cam !
I have low vision and in our independent living classes these glasses were recommended
That’s a great review.
With time they will improve maybe then I can consider buying one.
Thought about getting these with prescription, I work security and I think this would be useful but the price plus the prescription costs is a major purchase
You convinced me, I’m picking these up
Would anyone recommend using these instead of a dash cam for a 1 hour long commute?
Videos limit to 3 minutes if I remember correctly. It’s to keep the internal temperature down.
I had the exact same thought, once the tech develops i think it’ll be a killer for replacing dashcams
Definitely get a dash cam instead, they are much cheaper, but more importantly more reliable, which is the most important thing for a dash cam
I came for the reviews and left as an influencer LOL. Your setup is awesome!
Hopefully I get mine on Christmas
why not a action camera like the small insta360
I just got them. I am not a fan. The battery life is horrible. I thought it would be able to help me read small print but it doesnt seem to be able to read it any better than I can. I guess I will see how much use I get out of it while on vacay this weekend.
Just question do have a substitute ray-ban? Let know us 😅
Great review!! I was waiting for it 🕶️🕶️
Extremely happy with the transitions.
Because of these I’ve been making content that has been seen by millions.
Where can I watch?
@@BestTrader-hp2sd I have the same username here on TikTok & Instagram.
how long can you record 3min videos until battery is empty when bluetooth is off and hey meta is off?
Can you change the lens to prescription lens?
He said yea
The camera only shoot in portrait? Pity, that's a no-go
Other than the camera they don’t seem that different from my bose frames smart glasses. The day they get a heads up display for the lenses I’m not sure the price tag is justified but I love my glasses enough to own 2 generations of it.
can i do use google maps navigation with it?
Yes, the Google Maps audio would play over its speakers like any other bluetooth accessory, but navigation isn't built into the glasses themselves. You'd need to start navigation on your phone.
Vertical video and picture for the camera is the dumbest thing they decided on. Such a bummer. Whoever implemented that should burn in hell lol. Thanks to your review, I'll be looking elsewhere for a proper camera orientation glasses.
too biased for phone users
Good luck lol
4 hours was the deal breaker
How many 3 minute videos can it record on a charge?
Can anyone tell me how is the music voice of this actually i m tired of using ear bud thinking to listen music from this is this good enough please provide the feedback 😊
I am watching this video using my glasses
I don't understand. What do you mean by that
I was blind but I got the glasses and I’m still blind
I have a galaxy note 20 and I can only use the speakers but it wont let me open the camera is it because of the phone???
Where is the video stored?
How does one get the glasses to read text ?
You can be like “Hey meta, translate the text that I am looking at”
I'm not sold, yet. Once this tech gets really good, I'm so in
How long can you record a video on these? Thought that would have been mentioned.
3 minutes
Thank you for the honesty because I was going to buy but now I’d rather wait till they upgrade the battery and certain features that will benefit me because I drive trucks and I need a way better battery life to last at least 8 hours hopefully even 10 hours but we shall see
Doesnt work with my phone. Only works with samsung pixel and apple. No andriod 13 samsung either. Im sad😢
