Watching in 2021 - After purchasing the same set of Holbein gouache, the magenta is definitely more "magenta" in my set (still labelled magenta and same number GG582). I'm not sure if they have altered the pigment since your review, but just saying there is a more pink option which makes a nice deep purple when mixed with a bit of ultramarine or can be more pink if mixed with white. Hope that helps anyone debating on this set. Thank you for the review!
I know this is a very old comment, but just so you know for future reference all companies are constantly sourcing their pigments from different places. Some batches of watercolors/gouache will look very similar whereas a different batch can have a different look. Even the different binders (gum arabic is most commonly used) can change the pigments hues depending on different batches. Hope this helps.
Lovely review Rebecca! The Leaf Green is so pretty! I've been considering purchasing this set as well, I have a small set of Windsor Newton that I like...but more colors would be fun. Please let us know if you were able to mix a pretty pink.
Lovely review, and I adore your folky flower. So pretty. I watched you do the acrylic painting on a wooden board from the art box yesterday and thought how much your painting books were influencing your style now. And then I saw this and it reminded me of that lovely book. I have some basic gauche paints. I asked for them last Christmas. I still haven't used them. Scared!
awww i just saw your tutorial and then found these precious pieces on jacksons... welp, couldn't help myself.. 3,2,1... #mine! i can't wait for them to arrive
@@TheArtSpirits yikes, I wish I had stuck in buying the 5ml tubes. I got the 15ml for cheap, but spent a little more. Anyways, at least I'm happy even just looking at the colors. Hehe
@@CozyCreates also opera pink is not considered artists grade, cos it fades so fast and so much, reason that even I like pinks I hate it and never would spend money on it,use it in my artworks and like me,many artists stay away from that pink...I think reason it’s not there in artist grade set..just my two cents..if you know any opera pink that is lightfast, and of good quality, please let me know, then I may get it and risk it,but for now I have not seen any decent candidate
So nice!
Nice to listen to your voice. The colours are lovely. I've been finishing my Chris Cheng flowers today. A great lesson in dahlia colouring.🤗

The colours look so vibrant , I really like the look of the Holbein gouache , I’ve never tried them before , thankyou , this was great
I really enjoyed this Rebecca, most especially since you used the gouache in a folk art painting. Lisa🕊

Many of the colors in the sets are not the top two tiers of lightfastness on Holbein's chart, which is three and four of four stars.
Very nice review! I really like the Holbein art supplies. They are good quality!

"you can't make a pink from all the other colors". Uhm, what about red and white mixed?
Yes you can make a pastel pink that way but I was really wanting a true pink.
Beautiful colors
I find most of these colours unusable as singles _ love to see a mixing video…🙏
That's a good video idea. Thanks for watching 😊
How long do you think will it last if I paint 2 times a week?
That book is so cute! 😀
Very nice video!! Informative and fun💖
Beautiful!
Did you consume the 5ml tubes already?
Not yet, no.

8:30 You should leave it like that : one big round head , 2 eyes, open yellow mouth and a big red mustache ☝️☝️😃
