Watch a full tutorial as a 2020 Toyota RAV4 will have a brand new set of Alpine Type R 6.5" coaxial speakers Installed. These speakers will be installed in the factory locations in the rear door and will be using the Alpine Type R R-S65.2 Coaxial Speakers.

Crutchfield site says these and many others won’t fit based on mounting height being too tall (between door and door panel) as if they would touch the door panel… any idea why? Obviously it looks like they work in this video..

@@mattlindsey It may be the other way around, the mounting depth is too tall meaning the magnet will hit the window behind it. We didn't have any issue using these Type R's at all.

I want to install 2 subwoofers, but I don’t want them to take up space… I love how BMW does it, where they put it under the seats… but upon inspection, there isn’t really any room for that below the seats in the RAV4… I don’t want the subwoofer in the trunk, because it just sounds weird imo

i have the 2020 XLE. no speakers at the rear doors. appears to be attempted to install one since there are mounts already. after i installed new speakers, no sound. is there a fix for this? TIA

RAV4 forums say the polarity is reversed on gen 5’s. Have you tested the polarity?
