Old video but I was considering upgrading the wheels for my 33 dropcat from the 74mm to either an 85-90mm wheels. Do you find it easier to cruise with the larger wheels you have?
Yes, Iarger wheels provide lower rolling resistance in general. The drawbacks are wheel bite (for top mount deck), heavier weight, diffucult sliding (or called carving brake?), higher deck level. Currently, I use Comet Cruiser with 72mm Plow King for short distance commuting on work days. I always suggest using larger wheels for long trip/exercise👍🏻
If both Pranayama & Drop Cat install same wheels, Pranayama should be lower to the ground. It is because of the crescent drop profile and TKP of Pranayama. I haven't tried Plow King wheels. I believe they make a significant drop comparing with 85mm wheels.
@@HarryLamHK I'm used to riding a dancer with small wheels, as I love how it feels for carving and cruising (and obviously for dance) But i run out of speed so quickly on my little dance wheels, bigger ones would get me bite on a top mount dancer. What's it like carving on a flexy carvey deck with huge wheels? Does speeding up take a while but then you have nice momentum? On lovely smooth flat ground my dancer will run out of momentum after like 10 carves.
@@definingslawek4731 I don't feel the slow acceleration. I belive huge wheel with high durometer can reduce rolloing resistance. Using this setup, I can reach 20~25kph on a flat cycling path. Drop cat maple deck is not flexy, but drop through (I even added 2x6mm pad for extra drop) is nice for pushing. Huge wheels are useful for carving on brick road.
Thank you for your suggestion. Because of your reminder, I have started practicing mongo-pushing today (especially riding up hill) . I will keep polishing up this useful technique.💪
@@HarryLamHK Mongo pushing is kinda a bad habit to have since it could really mess with your balance. You should push switch the right way with the right foot pushing and the left foot on the board (if you are goofy).
@@ynnkh2116 You are right. After I had learnt to push mongo, I started forcing myself to learn push switch. Because during high speed, I experienced the unstable balance brought by front foot standing in the middle of the board, which is very turny and dangerous. I will keep practicing push switch (still a very beginner of it).
Literally just vibing, nice choice of music. These are fun to watch.
Could watch these all day, very good job, love the trail and love the views; drop cat is also dope
So dope!! I miss Hong Kong like crazy. Hope I can shred the streets sometime soon.
Idk why I couldn't stop watching 🤩
also, I dig the invisible selfie stick that still casts a shadow 🤪

Love the vibe, just bought a dropcat 33!
Wow!! I ll try cruising my town at night too

Шикарные виды открываются! Ночной город, круто!
Very cool video, vibes all over
Nice route. Would love to skate there.
Those are fast!
I just put 80mm Kegels on my drop cat 33, wonder if 85mm was a better choice.
I will choose 85mm for higher speed~
But 33 board I afraid I will get a wheel bite?
@@captureinstyle I tried the setup for months and no wheel bite👍
This deck is more or less high than pranayama with the 85 wheels? And with the plow king?

Do you have issues with wheel bite because of the bigger wheels?
No wheel bite for sure👌🏻
@@HarryLamHK Even at max lean/ turn?
@@definingslawek4731 ys, I am sure that 85mm won't cause wheel bite.

Which do you prefer? The Drop Cat or the Vanguard?
I think Drop Cat w/ 85mm wheels are suitable for LDP/cruising because of its low C.G. Vanguard is a fun board good for carving.
@@HarryLamHK thank you very much.
No wheel bite, Or are you deliberately being careful?
no wheel bite👌🏻
@@HarryLamHK Wow I would not have expected that
hello!
What is your truck setup? Is it 180mm rkp?
ys, 50 degree 180mm RKP truck
nice ride. Try to practice switch-pushing. Same-foot pushing not effective for LDP

Am i going mad lol..cant see a selfie stick?
My Insta360 One X can automatically hide the stick, so it looks like I was just holding a controller lol (like eskate..? haha)
