- Welcome to Fridays with Tab and Chance! We had our plane stopped so a fan and supporter of ours could ask this question: How do you feel being empty nesters? Our daughter moved out recently and though we are not empty nesters completely yet, we are going to share how we feel about our daughter moving out of the state. Lets get into it!

Parenting is not for the weak!! I have 3! One is getting married on Sunday, the next one is moving to Massachusetts for a job opportunity, and the Baby will be heading off to college next year! It’s stressful, but we just have to trust we’ve done what we needed to while they were growing up! But, Tab, I feel the same daggone way!😂
Chance, as a single parent, that is my mindset. I tell my kids all the time the best gift you can give me is to show me you can survive this world and let me die in peace ❤
My dad passed in 2020. He used to say if God took him today he would be happy knowing that his kids are stable and have life skills. I felt that because I’m a parent too. But…the next generation of grands stressed him. He loved his family and was always there for us. His passing was super hard especially for the grandkids. I’m so grateful that we all have good memories.
We all left home at 18 for college or the military. My parents all said it was their job to make sure that we could survive the world without them. We have never returned home. I've been on my own since college buy really on my own since 22. I pick up and move to wherever my heart desires.
@@lionessofjudah4234 ❤️ I understand that my grandmother passed the beginning of last year and she was the same way.
@@kemisharoston7909 that's how it supposed to be ❣️
I love how Chance just let Tab have this moment to freely express her feelings. Beautiful ♥️
The headroom from TAB was it😅
Wooo Wee!!! This one was right on time and I am grandma. My granddaughter left to do one academic semester in Japan, initially I was trying to talk her out of it but I had to let go…. So now I am just in prayer for her earnestly 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. My granddaughter wanted to go but was also a little afraid as well. Not to mention she cried at the airport as well as her sisters and father…. We’re all good now thank God for face time 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
my son is starting college in a few days luckily his school is only 20 minutes away so there was no need to live on campus ..but he's already talking about he's interested in doing a year in another country . The way my heart was beating so fast bcuz iam a single mom and he's my only child and the longest we have ever been a part is two weeks but I wouldn't stop him from pursuing his goal either . It sucks bcuz one moment we can't wait for them to grow up yet we don't want them to grow up 😂😂
As long as she keeps God in her heart she will be all right. As an older person I look back at my life and regret not doing so many things out of fear. I admire those who step out. There is so much to explore and see and it really does open your mind to reality seeing how others live and operate. It’s better to do it young than wait till 40’s and a breakup to try and find yourself. Prayers for you and your granddaughter.
I purchased my "starter" home (not my dream home) when my children were very young. I decided after much thought how I would move out one day and they could stay; my oldest is almost 21 years old and i just moved out last week so now I'm renting that home to him and a roommate. It feels good!! We both are blessed; Glory to God 😊
Praise God!! That is my desire too.
Tab there is heaviness in your eyes. Sending hugs💕
Was the only one who was HAPPY AS CAN BE when each of my 3 children left home. No tears, no drama. I am STILL happy as a pig in slop. 2 live out of state and far away. Good. One lives 7 minutes from me. Good.
I commend Choyce for venturing out on her own. She could have easily lived off her parents a lot of celebrity kids do. Excellent parenting.
I left Ohio to California 40 years ago look back as a mother and a grandmother now my regret is not living closer to my parents to see there grandchildren everyday but I excelled in California because of my parents love and parenting of me ❤ she will strive with excellence because of your parenting 🙏🏿
Aww this topic came at the right time. Our 24yr old babygirl moved to her apartment and I cried for a few days alone. I even sent her a photo of us together, maybe so she won't forget me lol I don't know. Smiles on the outside but mixed emotions inside of me. Thank you Tab and Chance.
I felt the same way with each of my children, our oldest daughter was 18 when she moved out of state. The only people was sad about her moving, was my twins and I, It was hard at first, but my daughter didn’t want to follow our rules, soooo she had to do what she had to do. This was after high school, and she moved in with her aunt. The next daughter moved to NY, and she’s been there for 8 years I was sad at first, but she has traveled to Israel, South Africa, etc , the 3rd daughter moved to South Korea for 3 years, I literally cried when she left. Our last 2 are home, but eventually they probably will move out. Prayers, and Thank God for protecting us wherever we are!!
Show up and show out, Amen, Chance
It’s great that she’s venturing out to new places to have new experiences. It’s a proud moment for parents and also can be scary. We want our babies to be safe and ok. No matter how far away or how old they are, they are still our babies. How is she making a living?
Empty nesting is tough...You just have to pray for safety and that they keep in touch😢
I knew someone that had a scheduled date to go see her parents every Wed. And nothing came between her priority to her parents..not because they asked but because She wanted that.
Wouldn't that be awesome if many considered it? Someday if its in the proper order...your parents will go first.. make at least 4 days a month...theirs.
I just learned about them by watching the earn your leisure video interview on her going vegan to heal her illnesses which is what I’m going through and I simply adore her personality and her family - thank you God for giving me inspiration through y’all - I have a small business and many ideas and I feel like I’m a similar journey as Tabitha ❤❤❤❤❤
Tab, as I walked those same steps with my own child and share those same "regrets" of requests i didn't answer from my now deceased mother i feel every emotion and words you exhibited during this episode.
"I'm showing up and if I need to I'm showing out" I know that's right! 😅 same here.
Tab, THIS AIN’T NOTHING!!! As a Mom of a daughter and son, when that boy leaves….JESUS!!! I love them both equally, but that Mother/Son bond is a lot. You’ve fully equipped them both with right, wrong, and SURVIVAL skills. As many Auntie’s and Uncles that Choyce has around the world…SHE GOOD!!!❤❤❤ Chase Chance around the house!!! AND …when they call there’s something in their voice that says Ma, I NEED YOU, and once you hear that peace in their voice, you’re OK!!!
SN ..parenting starts at 18
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ it was an adjustment at first when my kids left but now I love being an empty nester. I have been waiting for this 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 this was a great conversation and I wish Choyce all the best on her new journey ❤❤
As a parent who experienced similar, I totally understand. You both did and continue to do a great job - as parents. This is her new chapter❤ Prayers and blessings for her always❤
This is one the most beautiful and important conversations to discuss on your channel. Thank you Chance and Tab . I adore you guys.
Love watching yall...
That fro on point today sista Tab!!
Looks like Donna's got that young Michael Jackson vibe going on today😊
Donna is huge today
Aww Tab I understand how you feel. I can see it in your face how difficult for you but I'm glad you have Chance to help you.
This was right on time for me. My youngest son (21) moved out of state Tuesday. That was so hard but I’m happy for him at the same time. Now what Air Force Recruiter gone come get this 25 year old??!!!
I Definitely know this feeling Tab. My daughter has been living out of state for almost 3 years now and yes it is hard!!! It can be lonely because she became the girl I hung out with as well as my daughter.
My daughter and my grandchildren left today to move to Kentucky. I feel so terrible inside. I feel the same way you do, Tabitha. It is hurting me so much. Hearing that you are going through the same emotions makes me feel somewhat better. Thank for sharing 🙏🏽 😊.
Man, I have already been missing Choyce Brown and was glad y'all's show was back.... now she is about to b home again!!! 😢
I was devastated at first but now I am okay with it and I realized it was the best but I do wish him and his wife live closer.
You are so right. Our children do not belong to us. They belong to the higher spirit. He wants more for them than we could ever imagine. I’ve reared my daughter in this Vien. But gurl when you started talking about leaving your baby. I burst into tears. Everytime my gurl leaves I cry. But I’m so happy for her. Living her best life.❤️❤️
Awwwhhhhh I’ve been there. I have 2 that left Oklahoma and went to college in Houston. Neither one returned home. My baby (31) is a officer and my daughter is a teacher (38). Houston is Home for them.
We will take care of her here in Houston..I truly understand your feeling though.
This also shows why two perspectives of a mother and father is so important!!! Both care equally but both have a different way of process it/ or concerns. 🥲
At 20 I put 900 miles between me and my mom she has always wanted me to come back home but we are better friends separately. In 2015 she moved to city I live in. My sons both moved out at 21-22 but they still live in same city. I’m proud of them and give them total space to be men. Although mommy is a phone call away to be Uber and wash their clothes. I didn’t sign on for that part but do it anyway. Love family.❤
I am so proud that my 3 children are on their own and doing Great at maintaining their independence. I have 3 wonderful places to visit.🎉
This is so amazing! Beautiful topic and so hearfelt from each parent! Many prayers to Choyce and her entire family. I felt and could relate to Tab so deeply. Its so hard when your kids leave but its expected when you raise them right. Please tell her to visit Wheeler Baptist Church in Houston. Pastor Cosby and Pastor Lawson are truly men after the Lord's heart and she will love the worship and teaching at the church. I live in a different state and started watching virtually during the Pandemic and still watch faithfully. I have been truly blessed by Wheeler Baptist Church. It's so important to find a church home especially when moving away from your family and also being a young person in this different type of world that we are living in. God bless each of you.
Thanks, Tab and Chance for this. I had the same experience with my son when he moved out after graduating from college. But then I had to remember I left my Mom home after high school.
Excellent episode! Chance is a father for sure. I love this from dad and mom. Some kids don't appreciate having good parents. I wish I had good ones growing up! I wanted parents like them.
Good job complimenting/directing her Chance. 😮
I appreciate this convo. One of my daughter’s is going to college in California next year & living the dorm life. Right now I’m not worried, I’m excited for her because I didn’t get that opportunity. Now, I know when that time comes I’m going to lose my mind 😩😅 but I’m sooo happy for her to live her life!!!!
Chance and Tab sound like my Mom and Dad when I left. I literally moved to the other side of the country and did not come back. But they knew they had prepared me and that I was going to be fine. Now we not gone talk bout how they eventually followed me though and moved 30 minutes from the new city I was living in....🤣🤣🤣
I’ve loved all Fridays episodes however this one hit home. My son moved out recently and I’ve had all of the same emotions as Tab. My husband, on the other hand, is Chance through and through 😮! Don’t know how men do that, lol. We are also in the same boat with one left at home and 6 yrs left until she’s left the nest. I’m going to start preparing my heart now. Great episode!
I complety understand this situation. It was rough when my daughter moved from New Jersey to Dallas , TX, a 24 hour drive away. I had every emotion that Tab experienced. My husband was more like Chance. Lol She too mapped out everything for me, by the time my husband put me on that 1st flight. I had already known the layout. 😂 Eventually her brother moved with her and I felt more at ease. I was still an emotional wreck because now that's 2 kids I wouldn't get to see everyday. It did my heart glad knowing my kids could stand on their own 2 feet. ❤
🙌"Very good". Everything is going to be alright.😊God is good 💕
CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES….. COME ON!
Ayyyyeeee!!!!!
Thank you for sharing this perspective. This was very insightful and appropriately timed especially with all the children that just went off to college. Very comforting. ❤
Wonderful conversation.
When the look showed up on Chance’s face when we talking about his mother living with ya’ll, it was a laugh out loud moment for me.😂 Thanks so much for sharing. At least I’m not the only one going through and never will be. Love ya’ll. ❤
Ok imma need Chance to record a couple of songs for Tab Time!! Tab write the song and Chance hit that studio and lay them tracks!! 😊
Congratulations Choyce
Your parents look and sound like great parents. Sound like your a great young lady as well, I’m glad to share the same name with you
I agree with you Chance, I have lived in several different states over the years. I love to travel and live in new places.
TAB DON'T FEEL BAD,WHEN MY CHILD MOVED OUT ( Mind you my child moved right across the street ) From me..STILL MADE ME CRY 😫 My child was 20 yrs old at the time, now she's 30 yrs old... But it do get easy tho.. 😃 I believe in Cho Cho she got this thing call life....😃 I extremely love the way Chance is there for his girls an his family period...but I love the way Tab ❤️ Speaks about her mom and daddy.🥰Tab You're a super great mom / wife / daughter/ sister / friend ❤️ ♥️ You gonna be alraight sis baby girl got this....I love me some ChoCho 🥰Very Is intelligent young lady ❤️ Keep reaching for the stars my little sister😉😃🥰

Happy Friday Y'all 💝BLESSED FAMILY
I love your family and I honor you two👑👑🙏🏾🙏🏾
😂😂😂😂Chance is already making plans for Quests' room. Y'all are so funny. I love your view on the empty nest Tab 🤣🤣🤣
The last of mine left the nest at the beginning of the year, I was more anxious than my kid lol
I worried more about whether or not he kept his home clean and making sure he was eating properly lol….damn kid would live off uber eats if he had his way lol
Now its been a few months, husband and I are living it up! And loving it Lol
I love you guys ! ❤
This Was Definitely A Good Topic...💞😉👓Much Luv
😂 “you ordered the stuff before she left” lmaoooooo
We all those regrets don’t we. It we have to let them go.
They know the way home
My mom turned my room into a closet 🤷🏽♀️ the bed is still in there though 😂😂😂
Chance took me out when he said " I don't know want am doing with his room" 😂😂😂😂😂 32:43
Chance said mmmmhm with that look😂😂😂😂😂
I live in Houston it’s a wonderful place. Something to do every day she’ll love it
Tab you got ya lil garden 😂😂😂
Tab, your earrings are 🔥
I'm not an empty nester yet, I'm sure I'll have mixed emotions also
😂😂😂😂😂 not the turf "grass"
For that intro, Tab said in her mind: "My DADDY said, you ain't got to RAISE me, I already been raised. He raised me GOOD" ... 😂😂😂 (my get back spirit, I betcha I won't take direction anymore 😂"
Alright now, that intro was on it.
I feel you Tab, I told my son I was following him wherever he goes... "jokingly" 😂😂😂
From Albemarle, NC
That fake grass will tear your knees up😂😂
About this golf simulator room Chance? Let me get the idea board or smthn 👀👀
Our daughter left home and moved to California over 11 years ago. She left right after getting her undergraduate degree. She sat us down and told us her plans and found an apartment enrolled at the University and today she has two masters degree and some courses towards her PhD. I will say it was 500 miles away and many sleepless nights, but I wouldn't trade the WOMAN She became because of her experiences. She knows how to handle her BUSINESS and she owns her own company for at-risk youths. She even attended church.. Its a faith walk honestly. Just throw the baby out with the bath water, and they will swim. That's my two cents.
I enjoyed Chance’s point of view and it is great for Choyce to know her dad will be there in a flash.
God Bless You for sharing Your Heart as God Blessed My Heart 💕
I admire Choyce for striking out on her own at 22 years old and her parents allowing her to do so.
Bless Choyce Lord keep her covered with your blood give Tab and Chance the peace to know everything will be alright 🙏🏾
Amen!!!
Amen!
Amen!
I’m 42, married with 2 kids but if I’m going out of town I always tell my mom when I leave, get to my destination and when I get home because I know she will worry.
Me 2. Everybody know. Somebody going find me
Thank you. My soon to be 30 year old Son still lets me know when he and his wife arrive to and from their travels. 😊 I truly appreciate it too
I’m the same way always have been…..when I’m traveling…on my way home from work…..get in from her house …etc
When my mom was living I did the same thing
Me too I’m older than that and I still do it too! Parents always worry about you never stops .As a parent I get it now
This is such a great topic! I left home at 18 to come to Calif9rnia to attend college and I never moved back home. This was before cell phones too. My mother wrote me letters and we talked over the phone.y father told me that my mother cried so much when I left..but I am a 2nd child and my two sisters stayed home. My oldest and youngest sister continued to live with my parents until my older sister married. To this day it was the best decision I made. I was raised in a very secure and wonderful home but it was time for me to discover my own life and even though both of my parents are dead..I know they are proud of me and glad I am living my own life.
When they are little they are on your lap and when they big they are on your heart.❤
❤
That’s beautiful ❤I love this❤
That’s the saying a old aunt use to say all the time. “When they are babies, they dance on your lap, and when they are older they dance on your heart”. As a mother to one child. A 26 year old daughter, those words was never so true.
Amen!
This is real talk...
I felt this on so many levels! I don’t have babies but my brother became mine when our mommy was murdered in 2019. I live with anxiety sometimes because he’s in Florida and I’m in Georgia. But I pray daily for his safety and his ability to make good decisions. I trust in God always. But I’m human. Kudos to all the parents living through this empty nesting syndrome. ❤
Thanks for sharing 🙏🏾. Sorry for the lost of your mom. I'm dealing with two teenagers. One junior in high school and a senior. I think of my life as an empty nester. Having a black male. I try not to, but I think about what he faces each day.
@@gigiFLOWER2023God bless you 🙏! When we are complaining about little things, someone is really suffering!
As a mother of 5 grown adults I hear you loud and clear and even the things that weren’t spoken. Lord take control take control ❤
I knew this topic was coming for you all. I have a 38 year old son who lives in South Korea (Jesus take the wheel) 😂 and a 36 year old who is in Durham, NC where I live. I am happy for them but I will always miss them. We will pray for each other. ❤
I needed this.. My daughter just left for college two weeks ago and I've been a whole mess 😭
hang in there may the Lord comfort you
Believe you will find other ways to connect.😂😂Just don't be like me calling all times of day and night😢😂😂Like he was still home 400miles away. It gets better. ❤❤❤
Me too 🥹…but what gives me comfort is that her dad and I gave her the tools for her to be a strong and independent woman. Prayers for you mama❤️
Same here! Luckily my baby is only about four hours away so I'll be visiting her for her birthday this weekend.
@@ericadelcine1794on😢once you stop crying you can begin to live! It sounds good anyway
Tab's smile lights up the room.
May God continue to bless, protect and elevate Choyce in Jesus name Amen 🙏🏽♥️
Hi, I agree with U in 🙏🏾for Choyce...In Jesus 💝, Mighty Name, Amen.
