Having tried this nethod recently with a unit that was oversized and very uncomfortable while wearing it. I unfortunately don't own a sewing machine so I do any fabric alterations by hand...You gotta be careful because you're not just cutting fabric from the cap but the hair and the welfts that are attached too, so there will be tons of shedding and bulking of the material where the stitchig meets and mine caused some irritation because of this, but it did fix the issue
This what I was looking exactly my wig is beautiful but big on the back! I didn’t know exactly what to do! This triangle shape is so wonderful thank you and happy new year❤️❤️
Thank you for watching and you are so welcome! My customer brought me this wig she'd bought from an overseas vendor and it was too big. With a wedding in a few days and no other alternative, I was able to make it work for her. Is it a long term solution? Probably not. But she was so glad she had a wig to wear to the wedding :) Shedding is bound to happen but sometimes, we just have to make it work!
I agree this is the best method for bringing in the back and top. If you just cut the back then the top is still to big and sticking up in the top. I’m going to try this method. Great Method
it's because your wig is fabric inside! this is the 1st time I see this, all my wigs have always been with canvas, so your technique of making a wig smaller with a sewing machine doesn't work anymore at this point. it would be nice if you tell me if i can do it with a sewing machine with my wigs on canva, because i am new to this. Thanks very much. PS a wig with lots of fabric like that, it must be really hot in summer even in winter inside! can you explain to me how you find that? thank you
I've done hand stitching on one of my wig. Takes awhile but it never shed my hair. Wearing same for 3 years now. But I like how she did hers. Less time to frig with lol.
I wish there was a version by hand with open wefted cap. They only show how to reduce the length, but I need to reduce how large it is too. And the only way is this method but I can't find a version with an open cap with just a few strings of vertical fabric keeping the wefts together.
My surgery was a success!!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾. I made my first wig and was able to perform this awesome surgery on it to make it fit snug. Now i dnt need any combs to hold in place and its not bulky anymore. I am going to do this to my other wigs that i actually purchased. This video saved me. I thiught inwas gon have to redo my whole wig😅
I would place the wig on your head, fold it in the middle (ear to ear) til you get the right front to nap measurement. Next cut out some wefts then sew it to close the gap. Hope that helps a little!

Does this method cause excessive shedding tho on the wig i dont have a sewing machine so i hand stitch everything and would really like to not have to cut the hair
I just wanted to say this the best solution I seen so far! I been searching for years due to my extremely small head! Thanks so much!
Thanks Marian! This made my day🙏🏾

Is there a certain kind of thread you use?? Should I use a strong thread or will regular stuff be ok to use?
Use all purpose polyester thread

is it an after picture for the outside of the wig?
You make it look so easy but I would never attempt that on my own..lol. I have one I need to resize. Thank you.
Thank you!
Hi so I have a 13x6 lace frontal wig that’s to big and I don’t want to glue it down can I do this same method to make it fit
Hey! I will upload a video next week that will help with this.
Can you use to this method by hand stitching too ?
Hi. I would suggest using a machine as it will help to avoid shedding.
I've done hand stitching on one of my wig. Takes awhile but it never shed my hair. Wearing same for 3 years now. But I like how she did hers. Less time to frig with lol.

Can I do the same method with lace?
Lace may be too fragile to stitch on with a sewing machine
@Fabluxwigs I did it with my seeing machine using the zigzag method & it worked. I DID NOT cut the access b/c it laid flat effortlessly.
Yall out here doing surgery on wigs 😳😩 let me go gown up and get to work 🤣 thanks for this video!!🤗

can someone explain to me how come this wig is fabric inside and not on canva?
I don't understand your question. Sorry for the late response
Brilliant, I look forward to learning more from you 👏🏾
Thank you
Thanks good information 👍 👌 ❤
Do you have a tip for front to nape too big?
This seems to work for a big circumference
which isn’t my problem
😢
Thanks

Do you provide your services on other people?
Hi Kalia. Yes, I do. 😊

Wow
😢no sewing machine ugh. Any alternative ideas? Tfs
April Johnson-Hazel seam rip some of the wefts out and than hand sew the lace tighter 😊
Does this method cause excessive shedding tho on the wig i dont have a sewing machine so i hand stitch everything and would really like to not have to cut the hair
The zig zag stitch really seals it and I would pull out any stray strands.
does anyone comment on this wig being lined with fabric rather than openwork scrim as usual? let's see, I don't understand anything anymore
This is a pre made wig that my customer bought from a vendor. I was just helping her to resize it
You didn't show final result 👎🏽
I am terribly sorry my video didn't live up to your expectations!
trust me....it works!!....this lady knows what she's doing!!!!
