This video really helps since it adds a few hints for reducing messy ink spills when filling. I take the extra step of not wearing anything I don't want stained, and for ink that gets on the skin, Humboldt Hands Tobacco Bay Soap (sold on Amazon) is one of those soaps that's great for removing those stains much faster than plain old soap. I got the yellow EF TWSBI pen and I'm trying out Noodler's Bernanke Blue. It's suppose to be one of those fast drying inks that works well for left-handed writers. Thanks for this video!
Very nice - thank you; I’m new to fountain pens and the Eco is my first piston-based pen. Needed to see your video to understand what to do, and how to do it. Cheers.
Nice. I wonder, after filling the pen, when you use it; what happens with the ink if you accidently twist the top (that rotates the piston during filling)? Or can you lock it?
It doesn't lock but it is a little hard to twist the top by accident. It takes a but of extra pressure to purposely start depressing the piston. I always have my pens capped if they are not in use so any accidental ink being pushed out would be held inside the pen cap. The pen cap screws into place so there is very little risk of any of the ink leaking out when capped.
@@magnoliamike this ink wont stain a dark colored or opaque pen, but it will stain plasticy clear pens like a twsbi or a lamy safari. i personally love this ink for its vibrant color that stands out but it did slightly tint the inside of my mint colored twsbi eco t
Ink filling starts at 05:36
*THANK* you!
You did a great job with a clear explanation! Looking forward to trying a TWSBI Eco.
Thank you for making this video. I just got my first TWSBI and wanted to see someone fill one before doing it myself.
You’re so welcome. I love all of mine! 💙
I really appreciate the tip at 6:25 where you force some ink out to get the air bubbles out 💯 thanks for sharing that ❤

You’re welcome
So helpful and descriptive! Thank you :-)
Thanks for info. It really helped me with my 1st twsbi eco pen.
Thanks for the video. Gave me confidence!
Thank you for this. My new pen has just arrived.
Thanks for making this video! I was a little nervous to fill mine using picture instructions alone haha
You're welcome! So happy it was useful to you 💙
Disposable kitchen gloves makes filling a lot cleaner (you can re-use them)
Great tip!

My favorite twsbi. The eco is the best $30 pen in the world. It's also the best $75 pen…etc., etc.
I agree!
What’s a good priced ink to start off with? Noodlers waterman?
Diamine makes some really good and affordable inks you might wanna check on.
noodlers baystate blue is a great ink for beginners
gabriel estrada I thought that ink was known for staining pens?

Thank you so much!
You are very welcome! 💙
Once you start filling with syringe you won't look back. So much cleaner and faster.
Agreed. No fuss or muss.
