I remember playing this as a kid!! I still have that copy of the game. I can't wait for my little one to grow up a bit to play it with him. Thank you for this video that has brought back good memories. Regards!
Yes, this is an amazing game. I remember playing it the first time how amazing it was that with just one move of one tile the whole labyrinth changed. Love this game :)
Sooo glad you did this video! I didn't know about this game until I saw the video...then today I stumbled onto a perfect used copy, cheap. Snatched it up & what fun we had!!🤣 Thanks so much for covering this older game! What a gem!🎉
This is such an amazing game! I bought this game many years ago and it is still really fun to play. Thanks Rodney for a splendid video. Nice rule where the younger kids could play with open cards. I very much appreciate your taking up classic games.
A classic game I’ve been aware of but never looked at, so thank you for giving this the attention it deserves. Your voice seems to be higher than normal in this and other recent videos. Hope everything’s okay 👍🏼
Super helpful. Clear, consise & informative. Glad i found this video, my son just got this for his 6th birthday & this will help make the game straightforward. Thanks.
We just got the Pokémon Labyrinth edition and this video was extremely helpful in getting started. My family is excited to start! Great video, thanks for the help 🙌
We just bought the Super Mario Labyrinth and have no clue how to play. This video explained it perfectly and clearly. We played it last night and it was awesome. Thank you for this video!
You explain all board an card games with clarity. Just wanted to say I enjoy your content. Stopped watching you for some good time. But I'm here watch you again. Even rewatch old content even tho some board games I wont ever purchase. Just hearing you help me with my depression. Your a really sound like a really really good person in life and in explaining games. Really like watching you play with your kids really fun to watch. WOW YOU REALLY DON'T AGE
This game is awesome! I picked up a sealed box at Goodwill for $2.99, what a steal! My two boys, 8 and 7, and I have played it over and over again, probably 6 or 7 times in the span of a few days. It's very addicting and quick. We can finish a game in less that 30 minutes and often want to play again.
Thank god you made this video. All the thinking I was doing from trying to figure out how to play it with the written instructions gave me a headache 😂.
Hey there, I'm always happy to try to help with rules questions, but if the answer is provided in the video, than I have to direct you there. You'll find an index in the description to help you find the section you might be looking for.
In my previous edition of Labyrinth the rulebook said the winner is the one who finds all their treasures and then makes it back to their starting space. Was this rule changed in this later edition?
I loved this game as a kid! I eventually lost just one tile, which was so frustrating. I looked really hard for it, but never found it. Since we still had enough tiles to make the board we tried different rules for moving the maze but nothing we thought of worked very well so my mom got rid of the game (I'm not sure what she did with it). Then a couple years ago when my parents moved, while they were packing everything up my mom found the lost tile at the bottom of the closet we kept the game in! That was so frustrating. I'd be willing to get a new copy sometime though. I think it would still be fun as an adult.
@@NicolaARRMagnolia you may want to try Labyrinth: Team Edition. It is a cooperative version of the game, and it is possible to play with the original, competitive, rules.
Hah, I got a notification for this and saw Labyrinth and thought it was going to be the “Volko” designed game! Good to see that pile of COIN games in the intro, my COIN shelf is getting fuller too 😀. I really ought to try Labyrinth by Ravensburger one day, it’s got a great pedigree.
We received and played this game this weekend. We enjoyed it, but have one question about the rules we couldn't find an answer for. Are you allowed to move off the board directly across to the other side if the pathway on both pieces is open.
Just found this at Goodwill for 2.99$.... these are excellent instructions... thanks!! One note...my paper instructions say the 'end of game' is actually after you get all your treasures... AND THEN return your character to it's starting color. We love how you showed a version for younger players. 🎃 Subscribed.
Do you have a video for the 3D version of the game? You are so good at explaining things, but the game we bought doesn't have english instructions and the 3D version looks different!
I remember playing this as a kid!! just one thing I noticed though: Why is the "Playing with kids" variant more strategic and less luck based? Seems like the best way to play no matter what.
The "Playing with Kids Variant" is actually a lot less strategic and makes the treasures way too easy to get. It's actually more luck based, because as the tiles are laid out randomly and then moved in subsequent turns the chances that one of your treasures will be in an open path to you is very high. You then just need to move the tile into a random location and grab the treasure. You're almost guaranteed to get one of your treasures every turn with this variant. My two boys (8 and 7) and I tried this variant and we stopped after a few turns and went back to the regular version because it was too easy.
My way of learning the game. Watch Watch it played, then I watch people playing the game for some rounds. Then I try to play some rounds with myself. Then I read the rulebook. Works like a charm, but yeah takes time to learn a new game XD.
We have one of the older versions. I know there is now a Harry Potter version. When I tell people about this game they aren't sure if I mean this one or the game based on the Jim Henson movie or Magic Labyrinth or Secret Labyrinth . In any case, did you leave out the part about after gathering all your treasure you have to get back to your home base/dot in order to win the game? Did that change?
"You remind of the babe! What babe? The babe with the power! What power? The power of voodoo! Who do? You do! Do what? Remind me of the babe!" ...oh wait, wrong Labyrinth! 🤣
Funny you should say that. In the version of this game I had, the pieces were just coloured cylinders instead of the character shapes seen in this video, and I used to imagine as a kid that each piece represented one of the characters from that film.
I just played Labrynth for the 1st time with some friends, it was the mario edition but i thought it'd be cooler if there was a fantasy version with like wizards and dragons. Turns out that's the standard edition lol. They knew what they were doing. Just clicked on the video to get an idea of what the pieces looked like compared to the mario edition, highly recommend this game
@Watch It Played We just played last night with some friends after watching your wonderfully explained instructions. The kids loved it, and after they went to bed, we adults had a couple of cocktails, and it was even more fun! It is truly a great family game! Thank you for the video!
What if you collect your item and then you have all the next items in the open path? Can you collect multiple items in 1 turn? Or you choose one item and end you’re turn?
As I recall the video says that you only get to collect an item if your “end your move” there. So you wouldn’t be able to start moving again after. Hope that helps.
The way I show it here is correct (and I just double checked the rules to confirm). Do you have a source for the reason you thought this was incorrect? Perhaps a different edition of the game, or an older rule set? Either way, hopefully this helps you in future plays.
@@jamesfirnhaber9640 Do you see the crown? Right to the dragon? Red should end their turn there. Next turn, hopefully, the cat is still there so can be pushed to the left.
I have never played this version, I owned Labyrinth Master as a kid. I think I might prefer these rules instead of all players racing toward the same item. Next time I play with my kids, I'll try these rules with my copy of Labyrinth Master.
This looks so much easier than Master Labyrinth, which is the only version we have at home. I want to play this version instead! Master Labyrinth is too hard.

A middle ground may be to have the top N treasures available (maybe 2 or 3) at once, rather than just the top one or all of them.

Le jeu de mon enfance😍😍
What if you collect your item and then you have all the next items in the open path? Can you collect multiple items in 1 turn? Or you choose one item and end you’re turn?
As I recall the video says that you only get to collect an item if your “end your move” there. So you wouldn’t be able to start moving again after. Hope that helps.
If I face in my path two treasure cards ,can I collect them together and stop in the last one ?
You can only collect a treasure from the space you "ended" your move on. Hope that helps!

@@WatchItPlayed always. Bacon makes the world go 'round.
OH MY LANTA I AM HAVING SUCH FLASHBACKS!

To collect a treasure you have to "end" your move there, so you wouldn't be able to move and collect a second treasure that turn.
02:59 no that is wrong! if you and the tile get pushed off you have to stay on the same tile, that tile is to be transfered to the otherside.
