Exploring Abandoned Cold War Artillery

- In this episode we explore a once great artillery battery that now sits abandoned and forgotten.. Construction started during WW2 and it was in use all through the cold war. The battery is armed with two naval guns and multiple bombshelters and a generator bunker.

The electrical is amazing - looks l9ke it was installed yesterday,,,, usually bunkers of such age the electrical is a chunk of rust hanging on the wall !!! Excellent engineering went into that - it's still functional with a bit of prep.... AMAZING FIND !!!!
Find the generator, fuel it up, I bet it would fire right up and have that place completely back on line and operational in no time. Absolutely awesome. I'll tell you what, if I came across anything like that I would fire it back up and probably live there. Fix the windows in the cabin part of it and fortify the cabin a little better. Let me at it.

Well I'm just astounded that it's all still just sitting there, untouched. Including an actual cannon! My tiny mind is blown, and I'd love to know a lot more about this place.

By the language, Sweden or Norway. Also there were 3 cannons all capped.
Three crowns and writing in Swedish on some equipment. Looks a bit like a nuclear fallout monitoring bunker

Truly amazing and no graffiti (yet). This is very untouched and a great find. ThanX for sharing. It's amazeng how our govt's had the money to build these things, but not have the money or desire to dismantle them, or turn them to sites open for the public, or demolish them completely and return them to nature
Fortunately where i live half a mile away a garrison has been turned over to housing but took them over a decade to make the decision

It looks like with a minimum amount of work it could be brought back on line. I am amazed by how clean it is and no signs of rodents. mattresses not touched ----
Sweden was literally "littered" with facilities like these until the "end of the cold War". They all went out of service at the end of the cold war. This was an older version (7.5cm?) of the coastal artillery system. Later replaced with mobile artillery systems for obvious reasons.

This kind of sitting duck, battle stations became obsolete quite fast. As moving weaponry was more flexible. And the shooting range of the tower was as well limited. The cabin should be used and taken care of by some one. A place where young and old could come and live some outdoor life. And learn about history and why we need a defense.
Absolutely agree, someone should preserve this for the youth
Maybe the local government should take it on as a tourist attraction for campers?

Unbelievable that place is unreal it's the first bunker iv seen on a video with manual respiration an small doors much easier to un block amazing looks very well built an the big gun wow .

@@hondomurray7927 good luck on getting that information!!!! Most people who share there videos with us don't give out the location because of the threat of vandalism. Some People don't know how to respect history and just wanna destroy things that don't belong to them. So for that reason people don't tell the location. I'm sure the gentleman who is filming this for us would like to come back some other time and be able to see it still nice and clean and graffiti free. It only takes one bad person to come and start scrapping the metal and copper out of the bunker.

Vandalism was done. Windows smashed out and mattresses tossed onto floor. Place otherwise empty except the stuffs in the bunkers . But they probably were to scared to go down into them so nothing got broken and smashed. Who would think a full size bunker would be concealed under that cabin. But I guess that was the idea
Russia is 'acting up' as Sweden seeks NATO membership. Time to re-commission this cannon and the military infrastructure there.

amazing it is so clean and untouched. but, where are the bathrooms? can accommodate a big number of people but no bathroom?
The ladder down from the cabin are a toilet, one is left behind i think, the rest i dont know! There is a green curtain for privacy.

I'd try to date it find a manufacturer date on some of that stuff it looks to have been abandoned at least 50 yrs

Its a bombing shelter! Have no idea if its nuclearsafe but i dont think so, just a shelter for personal incase of bombing!

Probably a targeting or range finding bunker for battery or counter battery artillery. The two turrets on the surface look like range finders. Could be air defense as well. The big round piece looks a lot like a targeting / locating grid.
