The Best thing in Adipurush is this Song. Beautifully acted, sung and composed. The dark and surreal environment, moving statues singing, the acting and expressions, the way Saif holds the Veena, I am unable to blink my eyes for a sec. Everything is awesome. And yes, it is Addictive!!!
But infact Lanka was not at all gloomy as portrayed in the film. It was made full of Gold. So it was called Swarna Lanka.

Saif Ali Khan's expressions are full of intense devotion. 1st time he played this much hard, intensely critical and mysterious character on screen. and he was super in this song. Ajay-Atul also did their best in this song along with Saif's acting
We have critiqued the picture (that was required too) but no one(or really less) mentions about Saif Ali Khan (different religion) doing full justice to the role and this devotion song is too awesome. Seeing him singing this makes me rethink how raavan really had been and at what level he played the veena(or Raavanahatha). Too good. Saif sir you are awesome

P.S. As soon as Om Raut announced the casting for Adipurush, I knew that Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh / Raavan would be even grander than Uday Bhan (Saif's menacing antagonist in Tanhaji) but the internet trolls just wouldn't stop targeting Saif. After seeing the film on the day of the release all my doubts were put to rest. The dignity that Saif brings to the character of a Shiv Bhakt like Raavan is absolutely breathtaking to watch. Here, Raavan is playing the Rudra veena and is trying to woo Lord Shiva while chanting 'Shivoham,' as Shiv Tandav gets played in the background. Saif isn't just essaying Raavan but he has successfully and remarkably transformed himself into arguably the greatest Shiv Bhakt who ever walked on the face of this earth. Even as he is playing the Rudra veena we can see blood gushing out of his fingers but it's hardly bothering him as he continues with his playing and chanting until the strings of the instrument finally break apart. Undeniably, this is one of the greatest highlights of Adipurush.
Cannot agree more. His expressions were apt. Greatest Shiv bhakt but lots of ego. No other actor could have done justice to this role.
The movie has made everyone unhappy but the songs of the movie have made hearts happy. जय श्री राम

Even if we don't know how Raavan really looked like, his representations in TV series and movies since more than half a century ago were far more convincing to me. Saif's Raavan is more like a villain from a Hollywood movie and something like Greek mythology. His Lanka city looks more like something from sci-fi videogames like Destiny and Halo.

Hands Down THE BEST PART of Raavan in the movie , this was the high point of the character in the film. Portrayed as a powerful Titan with his devotion turned egoistic picturing himself surrounding his God. Also note the fact that both his dress and the setting is all in black , which signifies Raavan only channeling the dark and negative energy of LORD SHIVA showing his fall to eternal ASUR (Monster) form. Shiva is the balance of good and evil , but Raavan due to his jealousy to other gods only finds pleasure in evil.

We cannot denote one among them as the definite Raavan since it is part of a folklore. Here Raavan was portrayed well , this scene and song specially , after this everything went downhill.

Ravana was the fourth mightiest. Shri Ram was the mightiest in that era (that's why he could defeat Ravana), Second was Lord Hanuman, who was invincible and third was Bali, who was killed by Ram but had defeated Ravana some time back. Finally, Ravana comes into picture.
