Oh my gosh, I had a Gizmo when I was a kid. Yours brings back found memories. I know how you feel. After I started writing and editing (especially with my critique group), reading became work. For a long time, whenever I read a novel I automatically started to edit it. It has been difficult to relearn how to love reading for enjoyment. @@AngieChristieWriteNow Yeah, I'd like to find a way to read more for enjoyment sake, not analyzing everything or thinking, "I would've done it this way". And yay Gizmo! I heard they were gonna do a Gremlins remake, more horror and less comedy. I think the horror-comedy works best. You eventually are no longer frightened by these gremlin characters, so the movie switches to pure comedy. My favorite moments in the films are the bar and movie theater scene in Gremlins 1, and the Phantom of the Opera Gremlin in Gremlins 2.
@@shaunholt I used to read a book a day, and it sucks not to be able to enjoy something so fundamental to your wellbeing. I wonder over analyzing is something a lot of authors experience? I think if it’s a way of better honing our craft, it can be helpful. That maybe it’s all about finding the balance so you can find your joy again. Anyway, sorry for rambling. As for a Gremlins remake, I’m curious to see how that turns out. There was something lovable about all of the, including Stripe. I also didn’t find them scary, more of an annoying menace. It’s the comedy that drew me in. But my current opinion is all nostalgia based since it’s been so long since I watched it.
