The praetorian spear/javelin is called a Pilum. The idea is that it would break upon enemy that way enemy could not grab it and throw it back. It could be fixed later to be utilized again.

The sculpt and paint on those look amazing. A shame the don't appear to be available over here in the UK. How much do they cost where you are?
By the way SPQR stands for Senatus Populusque Romanus. I think it stands dor Senate and Peolle of Rome.🙂
I got the wave for $270.00 USD from Big Bad Toy Store and about $290 with tax and shipping. I hope you can find a way to get some if you want them, they are really nice figures! And thank you for the info, I assumed it was something made up for the figures story line so didn’t even think to look up a real life meaning!

I got Squasher, liked it so I ordered the 2 Praetorian guards and didn't like that they were not articulated at the waist or abs, but the line is really cool, Beetle and Victor will be here Monday 😎

Is it me, or does Stolo look like JCVD?
its very scary to remove the helmet from the heads ... its way too tight im scared of scrapping the hair, eyebrows paint off the head when i remove the helmet. Plus there's no telling if the face paint will fuse with the helmet if the helmet is put over the head for a long time. Its a bad design choice in my opinion, there should be two heads ... one with helmet and one without. Removable helmet does not increase fun factor for me but its rather stressful to remove it. Otherwise i love their figures a lot.
Are the heads interchangeable?
