    The nose of shinkansen is more pointed cause it has to go through much more tunnels which creates much pressure while entering and exiting the tunnel, on the other hand all HSR's in europe are at grid level. Trains like IGV and ICE servises in europe have speeds greater than 300 km/ph

    The bullet train is a luxury and not a necessity for India. It's like buying a Ferrari by borrowing heavily that you have to repay in, say, 30 years, even if it's only 1 or 2% per annum. But the cost escalation will shoot up. The bullet train may be prestigious as we are trying to compete with China, but we do not have the kind of wealth that China has, nor do our common people, who have a per capita income less than neighboring Bangladesh, can travel on these luxury trains for daily commute. Even businessmen will prefer to fly instead of traveling by a fancy bullet train. The bullet train may be a technological marvel, but for a country like India where landscapes keep changing and soils are different from one region to another, operating bullet trains will be a drain on Indian Railways. Actually, the bullet train is not a feasible idea at all. Rather, we should concentrate on improving the safety and efficiency of our trains in India and increase the number of trains, as there has been a manifold demand for travel because of many reasons, including business and tourism.
    While high-speed trains may offer efficiency for long-distance travel, the practicality and affordability for the broader demographic must be scrutinized. The dichotomy between the prestige associated with bullet trains and their applicability to the everyday lives of common citizens underscores the need for a nuanced evaluation.
    Infrastructure challenges further complicate the feasibility of a seamless high-speed rail network in a country characterized by diverse landscapes. India's varied terrain raises questions about the adaptability of bullet trains to different geographical settings and the potential operational difficulties that may arise.
    Exploring alternatives and prioritizing existing infrastructure improvement emerges as a pragmatic approach. The enhancement of safety and efficiency in conventional rail systems, along with investments in alternative transportation modes, such as buses and regional connectivity, may offer more inclusive and immediate solutions to the transportation needs of the population.
    In this dynamic landscape, the necessity of bullet trains for a country like India with a low per capita income hinges on a comprehensive cost-benefit analysis. Striking a delicate balance between technological progress and addressing the immediate socio-economic needs of the population is imperative. As the nation stands at the crossroads of progress, a judicious examination of priorities will undoubtedly guide the trajectory of its transportation infrastructure development.
