This song is forever etched in my brain. I lost my wife to drug addiction in Detroit in 1996, she was only 34. This video reminds me of that place, that time. I'm competitive and hate to lose, but I lost that fight. I'm 66 now and have tears in my eyes. Thank you for reacting to this. Thank you for reminding me no matter how bad things are time heals all wounds. Only the scars remain.
Such an amazing song, this and their song My Immortal was everything growing up! Also, watching this back makes me really think about how there is not a lot of music out now that it feels like the artist is just pouring their heart out with the amount of feeling like she was in this song, I feel like that why this music connected with a lot of people
I was OBSESSED with this song in ‘04. I was a sophomore in college & used to blast it and sing (scream) along ! 🎤 🎶 I was 98% sure I sounded as good as Amy Lee. 🤣
First, as a white person, I agree that this is one of our best songs 😂 Second, I was actually wondering just the other day if you guys would consider reacting to any nu-metal. I would be happy to give some recommendations! To start with, I'm not sure if you've seen the music video to Limp Bizkit's Break Stuff, but there are some cameos I know your Dad would absolutely love haha.
Fun fact. Evanescence didnt want the rap part but was basically forced into it. At the time metal rap was popular and they didnt want to look like they were following the trend. They later released the original veraion without the rap. This version is definitely a radio hit, but i prefer the original.
The male vocalist is the frontman of 12 Stones. They are like a Christian version of Linkin Park. A song that Amy Lee sings with Seether called Broken is a good song 2.
Love the change of pace. You mentioned Panic at the Disco and man the lead singers’ vocals are something else. I would recommend listening to Gospel the acoustic version. It’s amazing!
I love that y'all can vibe to a variety of music & the reaction/commentary is genuine & wholesome. Y'all make me smile. 🥰 Wish you both nothing but blessings; much love! 🫶🏻
I literally never comment on videos, but I’ve been watching y’all for a long time and I’ve never hit play so fast on a video. Evanescence has been my favorite band since I was 13. This song doesn’t even show off half of what Amy Lee’s voice can do. I’d love to see y’all listen to more of their music! The album this song is from is great! Thanks for the great reactions.
Your dad definitely understands the connection between an Evanescence and a Weeknd. There are several instances where Abel actually uses tracks as ways to interpolate for his own songs. Some good examples would be Out of Time sampling Tomoko Aran's amazing City Pop record Midnight Pretenders or him out right interpolating Happy House by Siouxie and the Banshees for his song House of Balloons/Glass Table Girls. The influence runs deep in all of these bands.
One of my few regrets is not seeing them when they came to my University, her vocals are so damn fire, keep them coming, would love to see a reaction of "not now I'm busy" (Album) by Joyner Lucas, or some Tech N9ne, if you haven't already. Much Love
Did you know whats crazy? EVERYBODY loves this song, yes really. There are always people who don't like a song, but not here, everyone just likes it. I don't know anyone who doesn't like Bring Me To Life
If anyone else hasn't mentioned Nightwish yet may I please implore you to check out their song Ghost Love Score. But be prepared for the Nightwish army that will follow . Make sure you do the waken 2013 live version. You will love it.
More rock n roll please ❤😊Evanescence, My Immortal….but the live version. Amy Lee classically trained voice and piano. Check out Metallica in Moscow……1.6 million people on an airfield after the fall of the Iron curtain. It’s unbelievable 😎❤️
HELL YEAH KEEP THE METAL/ROCK REACTIONS COMING. Have you or Pops ever heard any System Of A Down or Korn?? If not I'd highly recommend it. Love from NJ 🫶🏻
I got two suggestions that you two should react to: 1. Mr. Brightside by the killers (absolute classic) 2. “Without me” by Dayseeker ( my favorite band in the nu metal genre)
Great reaction! You should react to these too they all have amazing music videos and are just as good; Evanescence - Going Under Evanescence - Lithium Evanescence - Everybody’s Fool Amy Lee ft Seether - Broken Evanescence- Call me when you’re sober Trust me all 10/10s
Hey guys, great song to react to. I'm hoping you see this comment because I've got a suggestion for you to react to Morrisette Amon who is from the Philippines (sp?). I honestly feel she is the best female vocalist in the world today. She has alot of songs out there but the one that I think she is most famous for is one called Akin Ka Na Lang. It's in Tagalog but it doesn't matter to me. She will blow your mind at how good her voice is. If you want to see a song that is more main stream, she does a cover of I wanna know what love is by Foreigner but she does the version that Mariah Carey did. Highly recommended. Another person I'd love to see you react to is a young singer from AGT named Angelica Hale. She does a great cover of Golden Hour by JVKE and another of Skyfall by Adele. Just some suggestions for more content. Take care ya'll.
Please react to Hi Ren by Ren… it is an interesting and well received song that is more art piece than song… and Ren has a following that definitely bridge the gap … But it is a hard hitting piece (but I will not tell you what genre it is, as trying to figure that out is part of the fun 😊)
I'd like to request a song maybe both you and your father haven't heard yet. Prequel by Falling In Reverse it is great white folk music as well lol 😂😂😂😂 love the channel.
Rod, you and your dad should react to Lawrence. They are a brother and sister Gracie and Clyde wyte pop soul group , Lawrence "Don't lose sight" Acoustic ish version
i’d love to see more rock/nu metal reactions from yall
Flyleaf reaction would go hard.

@@sickbeet4219 so true , maybe a little korn or even snot

The song of my childhood! Evanescence straight up carried me through middle school
It just reminds me of Dare Devil with Ben Affleck
Big facts lol
Me too 😂
Loved the way Dad sat all the way up, when the ROCK kicked in! 😊❤
"This is one of the greatest white songs of all time" 😂

Gurl evanescence music got me thru some shitty rough times in middle and high school. Miss Amy Lee is a fucking 👸 👑
As a long time watcher. I would loveee to see more rock/nu-metal.
Need more Evanescence reactions pls 😭🙏🏼 too good

I second "Break Stuff". Your dad would lose his... stuff. 😉
This song is like a time capsule. When I hear it I get that's so raven'd back to 2004
Fun fact. Evanescence didnt want the rap part but was basically forced into it. At the time metal rap was popular and they didnt want to look like they were following the trend. They later released the original veraion without the rap. This version is definitely a radio hit, but i prefer the original.
Amy is an incredible vocalist as well as being a classical pianist.
i would love to hear these songs for the first time again
Was not expecting you guys to listen to this lol. Please react to more music like this, looking up to it!
I saw them in Montreal a couple months ago and it was incredible. Changed me forever

My second video of yours I've seen. You have a new subscriber. Excellent choice. I love this group.
The male vocalist is the frontman of 12 Stones. They are like a Christian version of Linkin Park.
A song that Amy Lee sings with Seether called Broken is a good song 2.

One of my favorite bands 💕
I have to agree, this is a pretty good white song. Looking forward to your yellow and brown song reactions.

Bring me to life was a BANGER!
She had a tour in Australia years ago and it was a awesome concert
Fun fact, it wasn’t originally supposed to have male vocals. It was insisted upon by the label.
Your dad definitely understands the connection between an Evanescence and a Weeknd. There are several instances where Abel actually uses tracks as ways to interpolate for his own songs. You should try the Sounds of Silence
Other Nu Metal/rap/rock groups I think your dad would like are: Linkin Park (of course. If he hasn't already heard some of them) and Hollywood Undead.
As a whitey I agree completely such an awesome song and a beautiful voice
Man this song brings back memories.
"One of the greatest white songs of all time" I've never heard something to accurate
Your Daddy is AWESOME....high five Dad
Sweet sacrifice is my favorite from them!

Not the guys reacting to one of my favorite bands!!! 🤩😊 I've been listening to this band since middle school.
Man we need your react to Pierce the veil "a match into water" and "king for a day"
I'd like to see you react to Kevin Ross. He's a beautiful R&B singer. I think you both would love his music. 😊

We need some Lincoln Park reactions as well, especially with them replacing half the band after a decade of waiting.

I got two suggestions that you two should react to:
1. Mr. Brightside by the killers (absolute classic)
2. “Without me” by Dayseeker ( my favorite band in the nu metal genre)
Speaking of peak 2000s metal React to some Sevendust
Check out Amy Lee’s solo cover of With or Without You
Better display of Amy Lee's vocal power is Lithium.
Please do My Immortal! ❤
Would love to see you react to some flyleaf or paramore.
Banger
Your dad certainly woke up inside 😆
I absolutely love this song, I'd like to see you guys react to Linkin Park, or if you wanna go heavier, Korn
Love seeing the reactions to rock/ nu metal, maybe considering doing one to linkin park. I’d personally recommend bleed it out or numb
Great reaction! You should react to these too they all have amazing music videos and are just as good;
Evanescence - Going Under
Evanescence - Lithium
Evanescence - Everybody’s Fool
Amy Lee ft Seether - Broken
Evanescence- Call me when you’re sober
Trust me all 10/10s
Certified hood classic
Would you be down to reacting to Hinds hall 2?
I love this song.. how about some falling in reverse? lol
The first time I saw this video I thought the singer was the guy and Amy Lee a guest vocals
the guest singer is the guy.
